Hopefully people stop throwing around the word legend to describe just anybody. Erik Morales is a real legend. He did it the old fashioned way, he earned it.

Hell of a great night of boxing. That was a worthy PPV card. malignaggi looked good kirkland loses in rd1 probably biggest upset of the year katsidis and gueerro was a great fight and then we got the 34 year old shot morales going all 12 rounds with maidana and only losing by a narrow margin, 1 judge even gave it a draw.

I am a big fan of Morales and I think that this chess game would be easily won by Morales if he was younger. And that lucky uppercut on Morales' left eye in the start of the fight...if not for that, it would have been closer. I think that Morales fought really good and shows that he is a superior fighter. Maidana is just younger and more physically stronger NOW. But nothing from Maidana really impresses me in this fight. Morales is still one of the best I've seen. He rocked Maidana many times with the Left Hook and the Cross... and could have won with his heart.

I just feel like I watched something legendary tonight... Wow, what a totally unexpected and exciting fight! Maidana took it but I really wouldn't have been sorry to see Morales win. That was an incredible performance. And to fight with only one eye from the first round on, my god, that just defined epic. And Eric Morales defines legend. Sheet man, just a great night of fights all round. It's half five in the morning here, and I have a meeting at 9, and I don't regret staying up for it in the least. That was one of the best nights of boxing I've seen in many a year. I'm buzzing right now.

After seeing Morales take the play from Maidana, Amir Khan's win over Maidana doesn't seem so hot. Thats how I see it 2. Morales is old but took it to him in the pocket, if this fight was 5 years earlier Morales would have been 2 much for Maidana

Maidana looked absolutely horrendous. Im a Maidana fan but i would have to agree, i think i've overrated his power as well.

maidana is in the same boat as berto, dude is hype. maidana couldve taken morales out in 4, but instead was awarded a gift of MD. for morales, damn! dude still has some left in him.
