"TONEY TURNS DOWN $1.5M TO FIGHT KLITSCHKO, WLAD TO RETURN ON NOVEMBER 11!
By G. Leon
Over the weekend James "Lights-Out" Toney, in a somewhat explicit manner, told **********.com that he is not pleased with and will not be accepting the $1.5M or "chump change" on the table for him to challenge IBF heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko at Madison Square Garden on November 11. There will be much more to follow, including a full one on one interview with Toney. REMEMBER WHERE YOU HEARD IT FIRST! (10:14 PM)."-**********
Leave it to you to come in talking from right out of your Anus.
Toney was offered 65-35 split agaisnt Vitali and turned it down. He counter offered with 60-40 and was told "Sorry, we're already to far along in negotiations with Oleg Maskaev".
You have no idea what you're talking about as per usual.
Once again you come running in nut hugging a white fighter, and displaying that you have none of your information right.
You need to find something more constructive to do with your time than continiously illustrate how ignorant you are.
Thank god Toney didnt take that fight.
He would have been seriously hurt.
Toney is a has been, and I still love the guys character. He is by no means the man to beat, The man at this time will be Brewster for Wlad to prove hes better than ever. Hopefully Wlad takes Briggs name and Brewster avenges Lyakovich then we will be staring at a possible Klitschko vs. Brewster II.
While the victor wont be undisputed, the winner will be the closest thing to it especially if Wlad wins because Brewster is still scared from his recent lose to the Belarussian.
EDIT: I forgot in order to see Brewster Lyakovich II Lyakovich will have to get past McBride, I dont think that will be all that difficult for Lyakovich because we already know he has a cast iron chin.
Figured you were a chick GURU/Jdizzle, y'all know boxers names but not sure about there fight games. Word of advise: just view the posts & leave the comments to us. Now Can U Dig Dat!!!!!!!! :boxing:

lol, sure thing NOOB... heres your retarded post that made me say WTF??
I don't even think u know who Toney is patna. James Toney is THE heavyweight to beat right now. Granted, he did have some steroid issues that got him suspended for a hot minute but that doesn't take away from Toney's skillz(best believe it). Put Toney against Brewster or somebody, that might be a fight, but to compare him to (or even mention him) with Byrd, you best to start commentin' on golf or something, mang. Leave boxing to the people that actually watch more than 1 fight. Now Can U Dig Dat!!!!!! :boxing:
how is toney the guy to beat, when he's failed at 2 world title attempts? and doesnt hold a win at heavyweight over a ranked opponent? and how is byrd, who is skillful boxer, not good enough to compare to toney???
WTF??????????????

i dont blame him. if toney took only $1.5 million to face klitschko, he would miss out on one of the biggest paydays of his career.
$1.5 million? there is no way in hell toney's gonna take that little for such a big fight.
LOL. You're so funny, Erkel. You get your panties in a bunch over 5% ? ROFL.
Right, because when we're talking Millions of dollars, that's not very significant, is it skip?
Pull your head out of your ass. It couldn't be anymore clear that there was never any intention on Vitali's part to take that fight. The counter offer was made the same week, and Finkle announces they're already too far along with negotiations to fight Oleg Maskaev, who at that time was even more of a joke considering he hadn't even won that hollow 'eliminator' vs Sam.
Fighting Maskaev would have been a tiny purse to split up, and he would have made peanuts compared to a purse a Vitali - Toney show down would have produced. That summed that entire rouse up right there.
Once again, you get caught talking out of your ass and were called on it.
Do you not understand how boxing works?
LOL at you suggesting you do when you're basing your entire opinion on UNVALIDATED banter from Greg Lee-on. And not only do you spout about it like it's fact, you get it all mixed up.
When fighters are being discussed, there is a long negotiation process.
Your list of "Facts" is outright laughable.
Once again, we have a thread full of shit throwing over an unsubstantiated claim from Greg Lee-on.
I know you love to put your foot in your mouth on a regular basis, but so much of your ignorance could be avoided if you'd just stop and think before you post.
Not only do you have none of your facts straight, you're illustrating you have no idea how contracts are negotiated and fights are signed. But listening to Greg Lee-on and taking his word as gospel is right on course with where your credibility is at.
Leave it to you to come in talking from right out of your Anus.

LOL. You're so funny, Erkel. You get your panties in a bunch over 5% ? ROFL. Ok, maybe it was 65/35, and? Your point? LOL The point of my post remains, and your point is... well, you have none as usual.
Toney called out Vitali on BDSSP. Vitali said "Ok, here you go, here's your title shot." And Toney turned it down. Period. Once it was turned down, they started negotiations with Maskaev, according to Finkel. Then Goosen comes running back, saying "Wait, wait! Ok, we'll do it for 60/40!" And Finkel said they had made an offer to Maskaev and were negotiating with him.
Do you not understand how boxing works? Do you think you can just send out several open contracts and see who signs and faxes it back? LOL What if they all do? Then you're fucked and have to fight several guys on the same night.
Here are the facts, in case someone was confused by Bozo:
- Toney was offered a shot at the WBC title by Vitali, and turned it down. (Coming off of a steroid suspesion, and banned by the WBA for 2 years).
- Toney was offered a shot at the IBF title by Wlad, and turned it down. (Coming off of a blubbery gift draw where he performed at an all-time low as a professional fighter).
If a fighter thinks he can win, he takes a title shot. Period. This wasn't an issue about options, there were none. This was Toney not being confident in his ability to win. If he was, then he would've taken it. Shit, Wlad took less to fight SAM FUCKING PETER, for no title, when everyone said he'd get KO'd inside of 3. Why did he take it? Because he had confidence in his ability to win. :)
Guys take title shots for WAY less then what Toney has been offered by both Vitali and Wlad. Why? Because they think they can win a world title, and then the paydays start rolling in. Toney knows he can't win. So he doesn't sign. He's hanging around waiting for an easier fight- ie, the winner of Rahman/Maskaev.
Agonizingly simple. Leave it to my good buddy Erkel to get confused by it all. LOL
I'm from NYC. Toney hits harder then Bird, it's not that hard to stop Wlad with his bad stamina & bad chin. And Byrd was sooo close to stoping Wlad right?
This is the second time that Toney has been offered a title shot by a Klitschko and turned it down.
Let's face it. If Toney thought he had a chance to beat Wlad and obtain the IBF title, then he'd sign in two seconds. Just like when Vitali offered Toney a 60/40 split for a shot at the WBC title last year, he turned it down immediately.
Leave it to you to come in talking from right out of your Anus.

Toney needs to understand that when you show up way overweight and turn in a second rate performance then it lessens the value of your purse. When you use steroids in preparation for a title fight and get banned and suspended, then it lessens your value as a fighter.
It's an agonizingly simple concept that some folks are struggling with.
Why is that? They have an undying need to praise Toney and hate on Wlad. Several posters here post by those simple rules: Gunstar, Bloodshed, Bozo, etc.
This is the second time that Toney has been offered a title shot by a Klitschko and turned it down. He likes to talk a lot of smack to Greg and on BDSSP, but as for getting in the ring and backing it up...whoa, now. That's a different story. Hehe.
Let's face it. If Toney thought he had a chance to beat Wlad and obtain the IBF title, then he'd sign in two seconds. Just like when Vitali offered Toney a 60/40 split for a shot at the WBC title last year, he turned it down immediately. Getting a shot at a HW title isn't to be scoffed at. You obtain a title and you make more money, call the shots, etc. Toney would fight them in a millisecond if he thought he could win. He knows he can't, so he didn't sign. Simple. He needs money that will compensate him for taking an embarassing beating and maybe ending his career. 1.5M isn't enough for that. But 1.5M is MORE than enough to offer a contender a THIRD title shot when he's failed in his previous two attempts. Toney likes his chances against the Rahman/Maskaev winner more than Wlad.
I really don't understand why you guys are making it more complicated than it is. It's so simple and straight-forward. Toney is an open and shut case of a big mouth professional who knows how to stick around in the game and remain relevant amid poor performances and big losses. He's made a career out of it. Let's face it.
yepper. well stated
I was talking about Toney/Wlad fight being the biggest fight.
I think the overrated one is Wlad, not Toney/Rahman.
wladimir klitschko is the biggest name in the heavyweights,no matter where he fights people will come to see him, and thats a fact, dont even try to argue...
No the keyword is MSG, people in NY have better things to do with their money. The reason why boxing matches are succesful in Vegas is people that go there want to be entertained, and often buy these tickets as part of their plans to visit. People in New York are not stupid enough to buy in to fat-ass Toney.
I think you underestimate the slavic population in New York, its well over a million. Wladimir would be the draw at MSG, not Toney.
100% agreed, I live in New York, so many slavik people all over new york, people in ny would go to see wlad fight not toney, I think NY is a second home for the Klitschkos fanwise...
Klitschko Peter almost sold out...
A bigger draw thats why Ruiz-Toney only sold 6,000 tickets at MSG, while Wladimir-Byrd in Germany sold out and made the two fighters $18,000,000.
I don't think you understand that the entire Russian/Ukranian population of Brooklyn and NYC is going to go see Wladimir-Toney, for Wladimir, not to see fat ass Toney.
ye, everyone knows that in order to get paid u gotta fight Klitschko in Germany...
Leo, it's not a matter of deserves. if it was a matter of "deserve", most of the rich fuckers on the planet would be living in the streets.
Toney, regardless of the fact that he's out of shape at heavyweight, is the only "legitimate" person that Wlad has showed interest in fighting since his return.
Yes, he fought Peter, but anyone who knows anything about boxing knows that, at best, Peter is a diamond in the rough. The only threat that he posed was if he could just happen to get lucky and land a heavy punch against a much taller, faster, more skilled fighter. I think Peter can possibly be something some day, but only if his camp learns from the Little Klit fight.
Then he went on to an aging, slower, lowly regarded champion who, in the eyes of many, had already lost his belt twice in his last 4 fights. Not to mention the fact that he had already been beaten once by Klit.
Little Klit needs to fight someone who carries a little more legitimacy if he wants to be regarded, as his brother was, as the legitimate Heavyweight Champion.
While, again, anyone who knows anything about boxing, knows that there's an extremely high probability that Wlad will destroy Toney, Toney is that person. Toney would also be a larger draw to the fight than Wlad.
Personally, I think it would be a horrible fight. If Wlad keeps to the outside, paced style he has now, he will probably get Toney out of there before 8. Still, in the eyes of boxing fans anywhere, defeating Toney would give Little Klit the legitimacy he's looking so hard for.
Therefore, regardless of whether or not Toney deserves more money, he certainly rates it.
man, there will always be excuses by the haters even if wlad beat anyone, to u it seems that toney is the man to beat, to others hes just a blown up middleweight who doesnt belong in the heavies? go figure bro? After hearing all this shit I hope Wlad fights Brock...

are we really talking about this fight guys? ...byrds a more fit quick and bigger hw ..and wlad walked right through him
if toney gets in there and trys to take his shots like he did agianst ruiz and rahman..that boys goin to the hospital
You don't need to crack a coconut, all you need is to win rounds.
Go Wlad!
What planet did you land from?
I was commenting to the poster who said Toney cannot even be mentioned with Byrd as Toney is so much more superior. He should be compared to Brewster.
I said that in HW, Toney is another Byrd. He can ONLY win decisions and copmaring him to Brewster is asinine
