I think first of all, he's an impressively fast man for someone who's 6'9. He has incredible ring IQ, fantastic defense, a solid chin and his ability to stick and move with quickness. He has great power as well as shown in his rematch with Wilder. Great boxer all around and for me the king of the heavyweight division.
Some guys just get lucky man. He's one of those guys. Plenty of great fighters never get punch drunk even if they've taken some serious damage. It's weird.
Floyd would still be undefeated against all those names, no doubt. No disrespect to that great list of boxers but Floyd is just in another class of his own.
I’ve been enjoying the BKFC fights as a boxing and MMA fan, it’s quite brutal and enjoyable for my taste but I’m a huge combat sport and martial arts junkie so I watch everything from BJJ to Olympic wrestling to Muay Thai to Lethwei and MMA. I’d say the biggest problem is the depth of talent, it’s not quite matured yet but I say give it a few more years and it’ll grow in popularity and the talent pool will grow.
I don't give a rats ass what race a boxer is, as long as I enjoy watching them. Boxing is a great sport for racial diversity, just look at all the different champions from strawweight to heavyweight, and you'll see boxing has great champs and fighters of all races.
My favorite rankings are the TBRB, ESPN and the Ring. I personally think they usually have fair assessments for P4P and top fighters in each weight class. Boxrec's rankings are sometimes suspect but it's a great resource to look up literally anyone who's ever had a fight professionally.
I genuinely think this is a good fight for both of them; It's a legend vs an upcoming kid with lots of promise. I do believe Pacman will get the TKO/KO win, if he's really fighting for real, but I definitely give Garcia a chance especially if he catches him with a lighting fast punch. I certainly didn't have this fight in mind for what I want to see, but I am 100% unopposed to this fight.
It's a far better fight than Wilder Vs Charles Martin or Dominic Brezeale Vs Otto Wallin.
The fact that these are possible fights just goes to show how shallow the talent pool in heavyweight is right now. It was the big three of Fury, Joshua and Wilder then everyone else.
Margarito and Wilder. Margarito because he's a cheating scumbag, and wilder for constantly making excuses for his loss instead of manning up to the fact that he lost to Fury. Like come on bro, just accept your loss lol.
If Pacquiao-Garcia fight does this mean that Spence-Crawford can finally happen?
This should stop both of them to wait for Pacquiao and stalling their fight.
This. I feel like Pac is the money fight and that's why both Crawford and Spence have talked about it. That's a fight that I want to happen if this happens. It makes a lot of sense.
Spence needs to fight Crawford. I get that the money is in a fight like Canelo but come on man, the fans want to see the best fight the best in their weight classes not a guy moving up to 160 to make as much money as possible lol.
It is quite stupid and frankly a bit frustrating. 18 weight classes is a lot to follow and a big reason why I think people would rather watch MMA, and even I have been guilty of that myself as MMA is my favorite sport after boxing and the UFC, Bellator and a few other promotions have been consistently putting on good fights that make sense, alongside weight classes that are much easier to follow since they only have one champ.
In a perfect world, there is one champ per weight class and 17 world champions wouldn’t be so bad for me, it’s just the fact that the WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO are corrupt as all hell and don’t even recognize champions in the other bodies on their rankings. It’s ridiculous. We’d at least have way more unification fights and make it somewhat easier to follow. But with all this WBA “super” and WBC “franchise” BS, it just makes it all the more confusing.
And the sad part is you know the WBO, IBF and WBA will more than likely follow suit on this new 224-lb weight class and we’ll have even more belts and a watered down heavyweight division to boot. Being a boxing fan sucks sometimes. You wonder if the sanctioning bodies even think about the fans, but money talks and that’s all they care about.
It is a stupid terrible idea that will go no where. It is not needed and will just make already confusing boxing a little more confusing. What good 224 pound boxer wants to be bridgerweight champion rather than heavyweight champion? If the WBO,WBA and IBF don't adopt these new classes that pretty much kills it and they won't adopt them because they are not as stupid as the WBC. This is just another bad idea like Franchise champions and two or three champions per organizations. Super champs, regular champs, jr champs etc.
The thing is, the other three organizations will adopt this weight class. It’s more $$$ for them with sanctioning fees, why wouldn’t they? You get a belt, he gets a belt, everyone gets a belt!
When GGG finally fought top fighters. He struggled. He barely beat danny Jacobs and dereavychencko and even if you had him beating canelo. It was barely. He didnt dominate one top fighter in his 160 reign.
GGG aint all time
He barely beat Jacobs? Did you watch the fight? Sure he was one of the only guys who brought GGg to the distance but GGG clearly won that fight. And his first fight against Canelo was an obvious robbery for GGG, the second was much closer and I had it a draw but you can't say GGG isn't a top level fighter when he brought Canelo to places he's never been before with any other opponent he's faced. GGG is elite, it's indisputable.
Best divisions right now are lightweight, welterweight, junior middleweight/super welterweight and strawweight (just kidding lol although I would like to see more exposure for the little guys.)
When Canelo finally fought top fighters, he struggled.
He got wiped out by Floyd Mayweather.
He barely beat Austin Trout, Erislandy Lara and Danny Jacobs.
He got a gift draw and a gift decision against GGG.
He was losing the Kovalev fight when he caught him late and won.
If you had him winning any of those fights, it was barely.
He didn’t dominate one top fighter in his championship reign.
Canelo ain’t all time.
... whoops.
See, people just love to trash on GGG and ride Canelo’s dick. Both are all time greats and will be in the HOF some day.
If you don’t think GGG is an ATG then you don’t know boxing.
For me I feel Lopez is underrated in many boxing fan's eyes. He has my respect for taking this fight against Loma right now even with the lower pay day because of the pandemic and no fans most likely. I see Loma winning but I don't think Lopez is going to lose in any embarrassing fashion, kid needs fights like this to build up. Only 23, sky's the limit. Loma is 32, and while his age hasn't shown yet, he's clearly going to be on the latter end of his career compared to Lopez. Regardless of the outcome of the fight Lopez has a bright future win or lose IMO.
Can’t believe they’re overpaying him to fight nobodies. GGG will never go down as an ATG Middleweight.
What kind of bull**** is that? GGG is one of the most dominant middleweights in recent memory. He was a P4P great for quite a few years and really tore up the division until his fights with Canelo put a dent in that domination. But it's absurd to claim GGG is not an ATG middleweight. He could hang in there with the likes of Hagler, Monzon, B-Hop... name anyone and GGG could fight them.
Brought canelo to places he never been before? Where is this place? Man gtfoh
I guess you didnt see floyd take 12 straight rounds from canelo.
I guess you didn't see the lara fight
And regarding the ggg vs jacobs fight. I guess you watched a different fight than me and the judges. 2 judges had it 7-5 and the 3rd judge had it 6 rounds a piece. That's called barely dude.
And I had it 114-113 GGG. 6 rounds a piece. With ggg getting the knockdown and the narrow win
Canelo's fight against Floyd was the only fight that Canelo has ever lost, so I'm not counting it as it was early in his career and a learning lesson. Yes, Lara brought it on with Canelo but Canelo's two toughest fights were with GGG. I can't believe you would think other wise. GGG won the fight against Jacobs who was competitive but IMO he didn't do enough to win the fight on my scorecard. I had it 8-4 for GGG personally.
I enjoy Top Rank and their roster but sometimes I feel like their cards can be lackluster quite often and sometimes just straight up awful. PBC also has a pretty good list of guys.
Povetkin is the bigger puncher, plus he timed that uppercut beautifully. The feint to the body and as he zipped it into an uppercut, Whyte just didn’t see it coming.
Lmao have some dignity ffs
Dignity fam? Have you ever watched GGG fight? Don't tell me he can't hang in there with the greats. Stop being blind in your hatred and realize that he's an all time great at 160.
It's hard to disagree with this. Berlanga has a bright future ahead, and many of his opponents have a dark one considering that they'll probably be asleep. Kid has unreal power.
