It's a stupid idea because what should actually happen is a wholesale reevaluation of the weight classes in recognition of the fact that people are just bigger now. The idea that original weight classes are sacrosanct is ridiculous.
I actually agree with this more than anything... there is an issue but trying to shoehorn in extra weightclasses just makes a stupid situation stupider. I know there's a lot to be said for tradition and it'd upset some folks but the best thing would be for a complete re-think, maybe 8 divisions or so, 10 max.
Perhaps work it so you increment up roughly 10% between weight classes... so 100, 110, 121, 133, 146 etc..
I'd say switch to Metric too, but as long as the USA remains the single biggest market I can't see that being a winner.:lol1:

Initially people won’t like it however these fans if they are fans know that it creates fights to happen sooner that we wouldn’t see others anyway . Boxing fans should have the title of cry babies ,I for one will enjoy some of these fights if the right order is taking place and the WBC does it’s best to make the competitive fights .
But no one rational will complain until there’s something to complain about, unfortunately this is a small percentage to think logically. It’s actually what gives boxing fans a bad rep of being dumber , one thing the UFC at least tried to get right is over 205 is heavyweights at least the WBC improved on that .
What gets me more is grown men complaining about sanctions fees as though they pay it themselves and is living that champ life style ? Get a grip people you are forum posters not the rich guys on here . Ha
Absolute mongrel...
It is a stupid terrible idea that will go no where. It is not needed and will just make already confusing boxing a little more confusing. What good 224 pound boxer wants to be bridgerweight champion rather than heavyweight champion? If the WBO,WBA and IBF don't adopt these new classes that pretty much kills it and they won't adopt them because they are not as stupid as the WBC. This is just another bad idea like Franchise champions and two or three champions per organizations. Super champs, regular champs, jr champs etc.
The thing is, the other three organizations will adopt this weight class. It’s more $$$ for them with sanctioning fees, why wouldn’t they? You get a belt, he gets a belt, everyone gets a belt!
