He'd beat them all. Garcia, Gamboa, and Linares are good to great fighters, Loma is special. I honestly don't see Loma being tested till he reaches 147.
Hitting and Holding is not boxing. Excessive clinching is not boxing. All you need is a pair of good eyes and you'll clearly see that the boxing ability of Ward and Loma is not on the same planet.
Not always easy to do that but you are right I'm sure in a rematch both men will work on what they gotta do to make their gameplan stronger.
It was there all night. Kov could have done it but he let the clinch happen when that bear hugging troll would come in like a bull with his head down and just head lock him.
All he had to do was take a half step back and pop that fucker. If Kov would have hit him 2 or 3 times while that troll attempted that BS matador shit, he would have stopped trying to clinch real quick.
I just hope the rematch happens and Kov sets the record straight with a stoppage. People like Ward are absolutely terrible for the sport. The guy doesn't fight at all. This dude literally just tries to hit and hold and tries to make every fight into a stink fest.
ward was basically using shaun porter tactics all night, bullrushing in with his head and trying to hold on. kovalev simply negated that by headlocking him and not allowing him to do his usual dirty inside holding/punching. ...as soon as he bullrushed in headfirst: ' omg kovalev holding' :lol1: :lol1:
Which is not even boxing. He would literally rush in head first without even attempting to throw a f'n punch.
Absolutely ridiculous.
Lol, exactly If you bull rush in it's pretty obvious its you that is instigating that clinch.
I will say I didn't enjoy the clinch battles from either guy, Kovalev was fighting back in it and defending in it by clamping down Wards arms which is fair enough Ward is clinching illegally whereas Kovalev wants to be fighting and balancing distance.
The difference with good inside fighters is that they won't need to wrap their arms around you to have an inside fight.
Kovalev's mistake was not taking a step or half step back when ward would try to clinch and pop him. Ward rushed in with his head down god knows how many times. All Kov had to do was take a half step back throw an uppercut, hook, or a 45 and catch that bear hugging troll.
Andre "Son of Kov" Ward don't want it. He knows what's up. If he gets in that ring again he's getting his ass beat down.
Hopefully Duva makes this mother****er's life miserable if he for some reason weasels out of the rematch.
It's become common knowledge to those with a brain that Paulie goes full retard when Pacquiao's name is brought up.
LMAO @ "Look at all the weight he put on after 28."
I swear, Mayweather can make 100 videos of him saying he doesn't want to fight Pacquiao and you'd still have morons posting here saying otherwise. Floyd's fanboys are absolutely some of the dumbest mother****ers I have ever seen. Hopefully they go the way of the Dodo's when Floyd walks quietly into the night.
A lot of boxing fans' IQ falls rapidly after Pac puts on a entertaining performance..especially Floyd fans
That's an oxymoron since from what I've seen they don't have much to begin with.
I'd say Salka but because this was on PPV and they honestly tried to sell us this, it's Algieri.
This tops the OP's stupidity right here.
Since Pacquiao vs Algieri was on PPV it's the bigger cherry pick. Since it being on a PPV has any bearing on the type of opposition each favorite faced :lol1:
Apparently being on PPV made Algieri suck worse than Rod f'n Salka, who wasn't even ranked in the top 50 of his division (a division below Garcia).
Almost 70% were picking/rooting for Pacquiao that's got to make that money all the more sweeter. :bounce:
More like 95% (probably more) were rooting for him. Floyd's fan base isn't very large nor diverse.
Close win for Floyd, but there is no doubt in my mind, if Maidana was wearing his gloves, and Floyd had to take the punishment in the first half of the fight from a puncher in punchers gloves, he wouldn't have had as much success late.
Agreed. Maidana landed some very good body shots in the first half of that fight, I think the gloves would have made a significant difference in that department.
As long as Bradley fights like Bradley and not fight like he did against manny looking for homeruns. I think Bradley would be effective. Though i think Floyd would win he would have to earn it.
He fought like that because fighting "like Bradley" didn't do shit to Pacquiao in the first fight. Tim looking for home runs and actually being aggressive in spots actually made the second fight a lot more competitive than the first.
Tim would have to pressure Floyd the way Maidana did and make the fight ugly. He'll lose the chess match if he can't keep the fight from happening at the center of the ring.
If he's not going to fight Pacquiao in his next fight he should just retire. There's only so many mexican/latin american fighters out there that he can fight in mexican holidays to try and make a buck.
Broner's fight would have been a sight to see if they had just kept John instead of replacing him with Carlos. He certainly wouldn't have been giving any obnoxious post fight interviews from the ambulance.
No head gear and 3 rounds with either Diaz brother. I would pay $70 to see this POS get folded like a tent. Guaranteed the first punch either Diaz brothers land puts him to sleep or in the fetal position.
It would have caused more bruising on Floyd for the few clean shots that Chino landed, but would have had zero consequence in KO power. People just want an excuse for being wrong. This is not the excuse to lean on for solace.
I think it would have made a difference on those body shots that Maidana hit him with in the first half of the fight.
Doesn't surprise me. It was almost hard to believe that Chavez would be willing to fight someone like GGG after he was thoroughly embarrassed by Sergio. He should just stick to fighting bums, that's what he's decent at. He should be kissing his father's ass every night because quite frankly I've never seen such a sorry ass boxer make so much with so little talent.
There is no way this fight would make it to the scorecards. The styles of both fighters simply wouldn't allow it. With that said, I think Pacquiao becomes the first guy to stop Maidana.
Don't know about all-time but he's definitely one of the most overrated in this generation. He's considered a top tier ATG by his few fanatics even when his resume leaves a lot left to be desired. His most impressive win is what? Possibly Chico? And that was eons ago.
His antics, most specifically the constant ducking, will be consummately brought up when people talk of his legacy, or lack there of, years from now. If there's one thing you probably won't hear about the top tier ATG fighters is their lack of enthusiasm in fighting the best. I personally don't consider him better than RJJ or Bernard in terms of the ATG hierarchy and I don't think either are in most historian's top 20.
