First Heavyweight fight I've been interested in in a long, long while.
Haye hopefully sparks out Wladimir and ignites the division. We need some explosions and "the bigger they are the harder they fall".
He got in the ring, won World Titles, fought at 2 weights, made over 20 defenses of a belt, traveled and fought outside his backyard. (Denmark, Germany and the US and Scotland and England, if you want to get technical)
He made alot of money and fought in front of some big crowds (50,000+ for the Kessler fight), he unified and defeated unbeaten fighters. He was universally recognised as the No.1 in his division for a long period of time. He fought through adversity and injury. (The fragile hands)
He retired unbeaten. I'd say that's a successful career.
You can twist things anyway you want. Roy was POUND FOR POUND boxer in the world at the time. If you want the man come get him, unless you are a pussy. Roy walks right through any of the European boxers of that time, or any time in history. No one 20 years from now will even know who Michalczewski is. As a matter of fact no one acknowledges him unless they are European.
He seems to be coming out with facts while your showing that your just a newbie.
Don't get involved in debates about fighters when you haven't seen their fights -it's a tip take it and run along.
A successful career is one thing. Being compared to two of the greatest boxers to ever walk the face of the earth is another.
That's what I think boxing fans need to do sometimes, were too busy bashing what a fighter did rather than giving props.
It's a tough business. Joe got to the top unlike me or you or anyother forum poster.
Of course he's going to be compared, this is boxing. The debate is whether he's no where near them or not.
Roy Jones is the man IMO. Bhop, well he's good but I rate Joe above him. Bhop beat plenty of nobodies raking up his defences and heck he ran from Eastman and lost too Jermain Taylor.
All a matter of opinion and each is different but to say not to compare is a joke. Haha, I get it you were joking, right?
I'm going for Haye to fell the Giant, Povetkin to stop Wlad and Vitali to stop Arreola in a brawl.
So
Haye
Povetkin
Klitschko
I'm gonna stick with Povetkin as I have watched his career grow from the 1st steps and with Teddy Atlas training him and bringing something extra to his game, then, I see him upsetting the jab of Wlad and once that is gone there is nothing there-just a chin waiting to be broken.
I can see Arreola winning but the Walker fight sent alarm bells out - especially as Travis got Ko'd again recently (and early). Vitali is like an old champ, who while on the slide still does things good enough against the right opponents. Still Vitali for me but if Arreola is there after 6 rounds then it could be good night Klitschko.
As for young David?, well he is against "The Beast" a man that Vitali won't fight. Pick and move is the plan abit similar to what Chagaev did only Haye is throwing those H-Bombs. Timber big fella Timber.
Rahman and Holyfield are old and shot - waste of time.
Arreola would be a great match-up and Haye could beat him up again like he did in sparring in Miami. (When Haye was still a Cruiser). May need to give Cris 2 years to get inshape - he turned Wlad down cos he wasn't in Elite shape.
The way I see it is Wlad; is gone now for at least a year due to mandatory's: Povetkin and Dimitchenko. So Haye needs to go the WBA route for a titleshot and beat-up on John Ruiz who has been calling other contenders out.
If Vitali gets out of the mandatory against Oleg Maskaev then I think he would love to fight Haye. But Haye needs to get a fight in 1st, someone sturdy who will give him the rounds a Dominick Guinn or Odlanier Solis as a warm-up.
Good to see this tournament is happening. Abraham has given up his IBF middleweight belt, Kesslers gotten his promotional wrangles sorted and all the fighters have signed.
Some potentially great match-ups and finally the fans get to see the fights.
Well done to Showtime for getting this set-up.
The division has been awful since Lennox retired. He cleaned up in a strong era.
Ruiz and Maskaev still getting titleshots shows that.
Hopefully Povetkin, Arreola and Haye will add much needed competition to the division. Beyond them there doesn't seem to be much else.
The Klitschkos are decent fighters - I rate Vitali as the better of the two. Wlad has been fortunate that he's had so many poor opponents to defend against.
The ARD stream normally works in the UK and is always a superb quality stream.
With Setanta no longer having the UK rights to Abrahams fights then I'm sure it will work fine.
Just proves that Kelly was overhyped and I include myself in doing that.
Bernard took him to school and showed that Kelly only has one real way of fighting. People like Hopkins and Calzaghe are versatile and can adjust which is why they have been at the top so long.
It makes Jack Loew look like the mouthy clown he is, I bet Enzo Calzaghe is laughing his head off - They said Kelly wasn't upto it and Bernard proved them right.
For the record Joe beat Bernard by imposing his fight on Hopkins and clawed his way back from the early set back of a knockdown - thats proof of Greatness and Bhop schooling Pavlik, who couldn't impose his fight game on Hopkins, just emphasizes that Bhop and Joe are Great fighters.
You can moan and complain but you can't change the result.
Thank you. That left is a beautiful shot.
Looked very impressive against an opponent who didn't really have the chin to be at this level. Fast hands and cracking combo by Kessler and a fight that the WBA forced on him as a mandatory.
Hopefully he now gets a big fight as he is probably the best Super Middleweight in the World.
That would be good, but sadly will never happen.:lame:
Thanks. I did Boxrec on the belts and they had them as I posted - if they are wrong then so am I.

I'd love to see Tua vs Wladimir and watch that chin shatter once again.
Wlad-Haye will be no where near foty.
It will be a great fight, but it will also be a BLOWOUT, either a Haye or Wlad KO, odds are on Wlad because he's that much bigger.
They don't have good enough chins to be in a FOTY
Two week chins can make a fight of the year - history has stated that time and time again.
a bit of competition in what?
im at work, i'm poppin in and out of here
why would i want to "put up a fight" in this ridiculous one man marathon? i disown you as a fan, please stalk someone else for the time being.
thanks, "knob juice"
I scored it for you r ! z.
Don't worry about that slack mack stalker guy, he's a hasbeen, using alts to try and still be funny.(Paul Daniel's style)
Unluckily for him he got schooled again - this time by you, but the verbal beatings the man has had, over so many forums, has made his style washed-up.
Return of The Mac is not a prime Brian London he is the Brian we now know.*
*Info on Brian can be found on Boxrec, Mr Mac - Study Up, sonny.
United need to get rid of the old shit players
And Rooney. What a shit performance. When he wasn't offside early on, he was mis passing or mis controlling the ball. He was inept and probably the worst player on the pitch.
Get rid of the old? Let's offload the vastly overated Rooney 1st. ****in awful performance by him.
Fantastic debate and lets remember Lennox original words as this debate has grown.
Lennox Lewis picks winner of Mayweather vs Pacquiao and disses Solis
by Lee Skavydis
Former undisputed heavyweight champion, Lennox Lewis does not fancy former olympic gold medallist, Odlanier Solis's chances against Ukraininan heavyweight champion, Vitali Klitschko.
"“I heard Vitali saying the other day that it would be a very difficult fight and how Solis is a challenge to him. I know what he’s doing. He’s trying to sell the fight. He has to do that. Since he’s come back, he hasn’t even lost a round. There aren’t a lot of heavyweights out there right now. My era, you had myself, Evander Holyfield, of course Mike Tyson, Riddick Bowe. There were a lot of good guys. Muhammad Ali’s era, there were a lot of great heavyweights. There were a ton of great guys then, but the era before Muhammad Ali’s, or Larry Holmes’ era, it was lacking. There weren’t many. It has really dwindled down now and I say we’re in a rebuilding stage. We’re waiting for some new bright star to fight his way into the spotlight.” Lewis stated.
Lewis also took his chance to pick a winner of the potential megafight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao:

For me its a 50/50 fight and one that must happen to answer the questions cos the answers ain't on any forum.
Both are fantastic fighters and it should be a great fight.
Poor old Audley, he gave up his shiny new Euro belt thinking he'd get a titleshot.
David Haye calls the shots and thankfully he has rubbished the idea of this fight.
Bhop is finally slowing down in terms of his ability, that's what his last two performances showed. Pascal on the up and up and I think it'll be a good fight. Pascal brings skills and energy but its still a close fight. Pascal for me and Yes it'll be worth watching.
Im a fan of manny, never denied it, joined this site just so i can soak up game about this boxing sport. how many other thread is on the first page that is not about manny?? haha..
Good answer. Often a single fighter gets someone into watching and taking an interest in boxing. Hopefully the rest of the sport wheels you in and gets you addicted - already started as your on a forum so nice one.
Fair play your following a great fighter.
Followed this saga and its Floyd that gotta step up to the plate. PacMan has agreed to the demands and wants the fight. Floyd been quiet on the matter.
Mayweather is all about the money as he keeps telling us and this is the biggest money fight out there.
On who wins? Its too close to call and thats why this fight needs to happen.
Yeah. I'm all for new fans. But you pay attention, you'll notice that "soaking up boxing" isn't really this guys plan.
It's to jock Manny, and rip Floyd. He couldn't give a damn about the rest of the sport.
Infairness, I don't know the guy and you may well be right. I run a forum myself and you do get national trends - got a few Danish fans when Mikkel was doing well. One or two still come back though they were all pretty polite.
I suppose the sport of boxing is alot bigger now in the Philippines cos of Manny and while a lot will go once he retires, we as a sport will gain new fans and thats a good thing as far as I'm concerned.
