i think el perro is going to mop the floor with cintron
I say Cintron stands his ground for the first few rounds, this will be a WAR as long as it last.
Wlad-Haye will be no where near foty.
It will be a great fight, but it will also be a BLOWOUT, either a Haye or Wlad KO, odds are on Wlad because he's that much bigger.
They don't have good enough chins to be in a FOTY
Two week chins can make a fight of the year - history has stated that time and time again.
I got Dunne/Cordoba. Multiple knockdowns and the winner came back from almost certain defeat. I don't know if it will be able to outdo the valuev/chagaev fight though.
The 2 fights this saturday can end up FOTY type of fights, Especially Angulo vs Cintron.

Yeah, Cotto/Clottey should be a nice dust-up.
You think either man will drop the other?
we all know here that cotto can come back after being hurt... we have never seen clottey hurt b4.. so.. i dont know how he would react to that....
but both man can definitly drop each other...
i know ppl are saying that theres no way cotto can crack clottey. .and thats not true... in the zab judah fight.... zab was giving a run for his money during the first 4 rounds... he was targeting clotteys body.. with some lateral movement... and i expect cotto to do the same thing... with better results of course...
and we all know that cotto loves to eat uppercuts.... so.. both fighters are kind of made for their opponents "best tool"....
both can visit the canvas
Thats what i'm thinking.
everybody here can say what ever they want about cotto... but nobody cant deny that cotto fights are fun to watch!
zab
margarito
mosley
have been good fights!!
when cotto is matched with good solid fighters... we always had a great show!! and I expect the same thing on June 13.!!
Marquez-Diaz for fight of the year
and Froch-Taylors 12th round as round of the year.
That's a beautiful compromise.
I agree with it unless we end up having a more dramatic round or fight than those 2 nominees, of course.
Even though Floyd is my man I want to see JMM do well in this fight. Even though I know it will lead to me dealing with more crazy buillshit on here (if JMM can do it So and So can also).
I agree with your points on the fight, but I have been proven wrong by JMM twice (in the first Pacman fight if I watch that first round even now I have a hard time believe he got to round 12 let alone on my card did not lose a round after round 2, the other agianst Diaz). Floyd is showing a lot of respect to JMM so maybe he knows something we don't (some people would say he wants the fight to look, but when has that stopped Floyd from talkig shit in the past).
Interesting points from you, as well.
Yeah, I can see that if Marquez does good against Floyd, it can only spell disaster for Floyd around here.
An old, past prime, blown up Super Featherweight almost beat him!! lamo pwn!! :owned:
But retards are retards. And my approach to them is the same as my approach to people with physical deformities ; I generally pretend that they don't exist.
Marquez showed tremendous amounts of guts and balls in that first Pacquiao fight. Getting your nose shattered and hitting the deck 3 times in the first round isn't exactly the optimal way to start a fight.
The fact that he was able to get up, dust himself off, and go on to win that many rounds is insane.
That right there tells you everything you need to know about what kind of fighter he is.
As for Floyd/Juan Manuel, as I said ; I just want Marquez to have a good showing. Call me homo or whatever but I'd be absolutely down in the dumps if Floyd blew him out of the water.
Luckily, Juan Manuel is a better fighter than that. And no matter what the outcome is, I know he's going to give us everything he's got. Balls of steel, that one has.
Marques/Diaz by a landslide for me. Non stop back and forth action. Beautiful combinations, grit, determination, poise and style. It had it all.
As someone said above. I am worried about the water Marquez is now treading in. He has looked spectacular at 135, but you can look at it like I do and say hmm...he had to gut those fights out. At 140+, he will lose more of his edge I fear.
Interesting points. My only real worries are that....
1.) As you pointed out, Marquez may be in too deep on this one. Personally, I didn't even want to see him go to 135, because everybody there was so much stronger than him, and he would be the smallest guy there.
But he really dominated there with back to back TKO's over the lineal Champ in 'Casa, and the #1 contender in Diaz. So that shows you how much I know. :lol1:
Still, as amazingly gifted as he is, I find it hard to imagine him having much success around 140.
2.) Knockdowns. I'm positive that Floyd can put Marquez on the deck. Floyd doesn't get much credit for the snap he has in his punches, and I fear that Marquez might hit the deck more than once in this one if he's not extremely careful.
My highest hope is that even if he gets knocked down ; he can still make a go of it, and he won't lose face by losing to Floyd. Similar to the Pacquiao rematch, only with Floyd being the clear winner.

Man, this thread is really getting me nostalgic for the old NSB days.
There's been nothing but solid discussion in here, and great points made from everybody who's debated or stated opinion.
Why can't every thread be like that?
As for Wlad/Haye, the most likely outcome is a Wlad KO. Which is usually the case. :lol1:
But if I were Haye, I would stay on the outside, and let Wlad dictate the pace. From there, I'd try to land my right hand as often, and as hard as I could, over Wlad's jab consistently.
From there, I don't know. Go in for the finish with guns blazing if he gets him hurt, but I doubt that'll happen. Just land the right, and avoid the jab, and win the rounds.
The last thing 'd do would be going to war with Wlad early, like some people are expecting. That's suicide if you ask me.
We're not saying it's even an option.
We're just excited about it and discussing possible strategies.
Same with Cotto/Clottey.
I don't think anybody in their right mind thinks Wlad/Haye is going to be more epic than Marquez/Diaz.
The days of Foreman vs Lyle heavyweight wars are gone.
Wlad-Haye will be no where near foty.

I think there will be some good ebb and flow in Cotto/Clottey. There's just such a disparity on Cotto's complete offensive game, and his pedestrian defense for there not to be.
Both guys are pretty good counter punchers too, I think it will be a tactical war. I doubt it passes Diaz/Marquez cause the styles are totally different, but it'll be a punishing fight.
