Now aged 29, Haye says he intends to stick to a promise he made to himself many years ago that he would not box beyond the age of 30 and that means he has his eyes on blockbuster fights only from here on.
That does not, he says, include an all-British showdown with former Olympic champion Audley Harrison, despite many reports to the contrary.
"I haven't talked to Audley's team, to be honest. I've read it in numerous newspapers but I don't take any notice of that.
"I looked on one of the boxing websites the other day and they even had a date for the fight. That made me laugh.
"At the moment, we're talking to the Klitschkos, trying to make that deal. Audley's just trying to get some headlines.
"If, by some miracle, I ended up in the same ring as him, I think everybody with half a brain cell would know what the result would be. I would go out there and mince him."
The target is either Vitali Klitschko, the WBC champion, or his brother Wladimir, the IBF and WBO champion, but Haye says he knows he will have to face both in time to get the full recognition he seeks.
"That's the plan," he added.
"The way I see it, I've got to beat both of them at some stage. They have different strengths and different assets, so I'd have to treat each fight differently but both are fighters I feel I could beat.
"I've always said I would retire at the end of next year. I started boxing when I was 10 and said then I would retire from boxing when I was 30 and that's still the time restraint I've set myself.
"I've got to be very strategic about the next two or three fights I have."
he might as well retire now, because if that is on his mind and on his tongue then it's going to be in his performances to come. also, he's had more hot air fall outs with fights than anyone else i can think of right now, and it's really getting tiring to listen to as a fan.
go ahead a quit haye, boxing will do just fine without you, quit trying to build up equity in yourself and fights by dangling retirement out there to try and create a demand for yourself........ lame., seen it, bored with it....... get a new way to sell yourself.
I was actually in a weird way looking forward to this fight. It would've been entertaining, as only an all-British heavyweight domestic bout could be.
Ah well...
You mean cooked duck and chicken minced up into a paste-like consistency and then driven into his rectal orifice via some sort of baker's squeezy bottle thing. Hmmm, I don't see the point in that at all.
Still, I wouldn't want any of that stuff on my dick.
I think Roy Jones has adopted him into his chicken farm.
I think we all know. Duck and chicken mixed together.

This whole statement smacks of damage prevention. Booth and co have been talking about a Harrison clash for weeks now, the tabloids have reported it, the internet sites have been rife with it, and suddenly Haye comes out and says, matter-of-factly, oh that's just nonsense, we're still discussing with the Klitschkos, I still want to fight them, bla, bla. Either Haye is seriously out of touch with Booth (and the world) at this moment, or he's realised just what a horrendous backlash this news has created, and wants to save the tattered scraps of his now horribly mutilated reputation. Methinks it's the latter.
By the way, if this is true I can't help feeling a little sorry for Audley now. I hope he gets to confront Haye in a shopping centre sometime in the near future and combo punches him in his test-shriveled balls, Golota style.
We just have to wait and see really.
Haye might not fight Harrison, but I seriously doubt his next opponent will be a Klitschko.
With David Haye you can look at the WBA rankings and easily pick out the guys he WON'T fight.
They include Boytsov, Briggs, Solis, Adamek, Dimitrenko, Peter and Helenius.
The only ones he will even consider (because they are garbage) are Ustinov, Meehan, Bahktov, Timur Ibragimov or Jean Mark Mormeck.
Basically we can look forward to Haye only considering the fights that boxing fans least want to see.
How do you keep quiet for all this time, have people talk up a Harrison fight in your name for weeks on out, and then come out and deny it all.
I think the pressure is finally getting to Haye, he is catching heat left and right.
He'll soon get the jist of it and finally man up.
Poor old Audley, he gave up his shiny new Euro belt thinking he'd get a titleshot.
David Haye calls the shots and thankfully he has rubbished the idea of this fight.
Lol Audley got short changed there. But at least Haye is heading in the right direction.
I wonder how many people will jump off the klit bandwagon if they lose to haye? When I got on this site 18 months ago so many klit fans were talking up dimitrenko like he was the next Ali....he loses once & 95% of those people shit all over him like he's a tomatocan...LOL! How many of those people are real boxing fans? Flavor of the month fans....too many of them on this site
You're an idiot. It's not a bandwagon when Wlad has been the champ for going on 4.5 years now.
I bet you can't go back and find a single thread where people are comparing Dimitrenko favorably to Klitschko.
In fact, as one of the biggest Klitschko fans on this site I would be happy to in return dig up my posts where I predicted that Eddie Chambers would whoop Dimitrenko's sorry ass.

HE WASNT READY THEN,(NOT EVEN SURE IF HES STILL READY) HE JUST MOVED UP FROM CRUISERWEIGHT TO FIGHT TWO BROTHERS THAT HAVE BEEN DOMINATING LONGER THAN HE'S BEEN A HEAVYWEIGHT.
He's choosing his time, did you not see how sloppy he looked against RUIZ? He knows he has to clean that up to win.
your caps lock is hurting my eyes. Would you mind not using it next time?
thanks.
He should have been careful before opening his mouth. After those 2 years his trash talk has backfired on him.

It's me or he's humbling a little bit, he just said: "I feel I could beat (Wlad and Viatli)". I won't believe anything he says until he step up in the ring against Wlad or Vitali, until then he's a joke to me.
