Deontay Wilder showed class and respect after the final bell which is commendable. I made a tongue-in-cheek thread poking fun at his style before the fight but cannot fault the way he handled the post-fight interview and Tyson Fury confrontation.
A right hand misses by Wilder and leaves his body in an awkward crouched position. Right hook misses by Nichols but in Wilder's attempt to avoid the punch from the position he was in, he goes tumbling backwards into the ropes. It's pretty clear that the punch didn't land.
Looks to me like a jab counter knocked Deontay Wilder almost through the ropes. House ref doesn't call it though.
If the left jab landed in that sequence, the view is entirely blocked by the referee that is standing there. Send me those x-ray goggles you're using.
I'm just using common sense. You see the jab thrown as a counter and it sends Wilder backwards. The right misses but the left has done the damage.
Let's not forget how mad Vitali got when the living legend that is Danny Williams spoiled his plans to build his legacy on a victory over a 38 year old Mike Tyson.
Hearing my dad and other family members screaming and shouting in the early hours of the morning from the living room, the beers flowing. I'd sit at the top of the stairs, maybe 6-7 years old, listening to the commentary. My house was littered with Boxing memorabilia, my dad trained in several martial arts, including Boxing. At that age I would watch the fights back the next day, my dad recording every show, he had a massive VHS collection of fights from all eras. Eventually, after much begging and pestering, they would wake me up for the big fights and let me watch downstairs. Must have been about 7-8 years old, the likes of Benn, Eubank, Bruno, Lewis, Naz, etc. It was always the in thing in my family, my dad, my oldest brother, my uncles, all Boxing mad.
This moron DreamFighter has autism, Anny.
And the title should be "Who ducked Joe Calzaghe?" It would be a long list. Could start it with Sven Ottke, Markus Beyer, prime Roy Jones Jr. and prime Bernard Hopkins.
David Barnes looks to be heading towards a big future in the welterweight division. At the moment he's dominating the British welterweight scene & has only really fought average Europeans so far & I'd like to see him move up to facing some World Class opposition. Also what I seen from Samuel Peter impressed me alot.
I'd like to become a boxer at 19 years old, steamroller about 25 opponents, all KO's within the first 3 years of my career, move up to fighting quality opposition, get another 10 wins , then face off against a major champ & put him out with a 1st round KO. In an ideal world all of this would have happened just as I turned 24. Then I'd like to defend the title atleast 50 times over the next 12 years, then retire undefeated & a billionaire.
I reckon if Rahman is still capable of landing one of those shots he did to knock Lewis out anything is possible. It all depends on which attitude Rahman brings to the fight.
Jesus Chavez's knee giving way against Julio Diaz in his last fight pissed me off somewhat.
Graham Earl ALMOST turning the tide against Michael Katsidis had a similar effect.
Jeff Lacy vs. Vitali Tsypko is the one that had me the most annoyed at the outcome in recent past and I hadn't even seen Tsypko fight beforehand.
I've watched boxing with varying levels of interest since I can remember, my dad was quite a big tape trader back in the day so even when I was a small kid I can remember it. I didn't really become a fanatic until I got the internet around late 2002.
Personally I think this is a dumb idea because basically what you're saying is you wanna take all of the good debates and discussions out of this forum and lock them away somewhere where only certain people can access them. Every forum has people who hate, flame, act stupid etc, your suggestion would do nothing but make more problems than are already here.
How are new members gonna get by if they have one forum full of junk and people hating on everyone and flaming eachother, and then another forum with all the good stuff in which he isn't allowed in? How is he supposed to prove that he isn't argumentative or a hater when the only place he can go is where is full of them sort of posters?
Exactly. And kudos to you guys for doing so.
Let me say that I personally had my hand on my heart for God Save The Queen and I afforded The Star Spangled Banner it's due respect.
Fuck off and go suck on ye' bagpipes!
