i would change these weigh in shit from 24+ hours to 7-12 hours before the fight noone of this 4 times to maek wieght then comign in at fight night 17-20+ pounds more. id probally up the poundage of each divsion by 3-4 pounds so them bigger people dont get put up with peeps they really cant take. these will ensure that u fight people at the weight u walk around as normaly. also i dont liek the idea of fighters starving themself before fights, i think there killign themselves liek that.
i'd like to see u as a ring card girl, beautiful, but not at one of my fights - with u there to distract me i'd get KO'd for the first time ever :D
AWwwww...you say the sweetest things! :o :p Actually, you'd never see me anyway cause the ropes would be blocking what little there is of me to see! Being only 4'11 and a half, and 98 lbs..there just isnt a whole lot of me to begin with!
thanks anyway (I'd feel horrible if you got ko'ed cause of me anyway...dont worry, I'm NOT all that!)
lol, I know :D I just twisted it around for the hell of it and knew my opinion on that wouldnt be the 'popular' one! ;)

I would change it back to 15 rounds and have the champs face a mandatory only once a year, but defend their title 4 times a year...
That way we could see the good fights..
this has to be one of the most inhumaine and ignorant posts that I have seen on this board. You have obviously never been tagged with an 8oz glove so you would not know how it tears your flesh. Smaller gloves, more damage, more blood, more cuts, = more knockouts, more deaths. That would just be great for boxing. I can see your logic clearly..........Rockin' Ramon=:crackhead
AND, the more cuts, the more early stoppages. Thats never a good thing
drop the stupid belts
One champion in each weight class
there should be ONE best not FOUR
then that way they will be remembered better
If someone becomes the wbo champion they wont be remembered to well because there's 3 other champions, then there's all this other bullshit.
Back in the days there was ONE champion.
When fighters lost 20 pounds for a fight they will pay for it.
The weighin is fine, builds up the hype for the fight.
ONLY ONE BELT THOUGH
The one thing that I haven't seen lately, that I think they should bring back. Standing 8 counts. That would cut down on a lot of the contravercial stoppages. I also agree with most of the other post about cutting down the sanctioning bodies, and having a regular boxing commission.
Another couple of things that I would like to add. Requiring champion fighters to defend their belts every 4 months is not rational. These fighters are fighting the best fighters in the world, constantly. The damage sustained in fights can some times take 3 months to heal before they are able to even train again. Rockin'
Okay, this I can understand, and I read in a book (Ringside and Training Principles) that after fighting a 12 round fight that fighter has to wait up to 6 mo's before fighting again; and even longer if that fighter lost by ko (because of concussion). I dont see how they can fight as often as they do legally anyway, let alone 4 times a yr
i think he means he would make bare assed ring card girls mandatory, beautiful :D
lol, I know :D I just twisted it around for the hell of it and knew my opinion on that wouldnt be the 'popular' one! ;)
I think in respect of the weigh in i actually think it's good they weigh in 24 hours before, but i think a fighter should only be permitted to put on a certain amount of weight in between, so for example fighters like gatti and Cotto who put on alot of weight would not be allowed to fight in the 140 division they would have to step up to 147, getting a fighter to his nearest 'natural' fighting weight can only be good, it'l make the fights fairer and might even expose a few 'big uns' who dry out to the extreme.
An idea maybe would be that they are not allowed to go over into the next weight class eg, cotto weighs in 140 the highest he's permitted to go would be 146, obviously with this sort of system, a fighters weight would have to be monitered much closer in the training so that they aren't dropping too much weight, if your a pro athlete then you should train like one ala Hopkins etc, then maybe we would get less Ricky Hattons - who is always in tip top shape come fight night but balloons up terribly in between fights, which isn't good for you. Back to the Cotto point cos he regularly comes in over 150 he should be fighting at 147, and i'm not having a dig at him it's just the most relevent fighter i can apply it too since he fought only the other week
Another couple of things that I would like to add. Requiring champion fighters to defend their belts every 4 months is not rational. These fighters are fighting the best fighters in the world, constantly. The damage sustained in fights can some times take 3 months to heal before they are able to even train again. And what if the champion had been in two consecutive wars. Giving aswell as excepting damage for the entire legnths of the bout. Forcing him to fight soon after could be deadly. These men would need and desrve a break. A tough football game is one thing but a tough fight is another. In the football games that team is always out there the next week playing hard again. In boxing the fighter may still be in the hospital the next week. Boxing is not like any sport and should never have a schedule attached to it.
Also, if your going to dump the belts than dump all of them. The boxing world would be much better off with only one champion and one #1 contender. This would force the good fighters to fight the other good fighters and then maybe our game could recover from the 5 belt bullshit, to again have some credibility...........Rockin'
1 belt sounds good to me.
But when a champion only defends his title once or twice a
year the number 1 contender can be waiting for upto 2 years
for his shot at the title.I understand that boxing is like no
other sport, but if the champ has a long lay off due to injury
the top 2 contenders should fight for the belt ,with him fighting
the winner at a later date.imo.
Dumping ALL of the alphabet belts would be the best thing that boxing could do to restore its image. 1 WORLD CHAMP IN EACH DIVISION, wow what a concept....
- SacTown1
It's not an original concept. That's the way that it used to be.
I would like to see 15 rounds brought back. 12 is Mickey Mouse! Slightly lighter gloves as well.
what would u change in boxing today
Change the weighin to the same day as the fight.
make champions defend their title at least 3 times per year.
make big name fighters earn the wright to fight for a title.
scrap all of the daft belts.(keep ibf, wbc, wba+wbo only). You said eveything I wanted to say, except for have some sort of fight replay for bad judging. You know if there is a major dispute in the judging of the winner of the fight, then it should be replayed by some sort of boxing commission or a panel of upper ecehlon judges to determine the winner.
There needs to be lesbian pillowfight matches in between bouts. There also should be a special guest ref occasionally. Like right before the bell rings for a Vitaly / Lewis rematch you hear " and tonights special referre is (wierd german techno love music plays) Dr. Wladimir Klitchko. Im sure Wlad will dq Lewis after Manny sneaks in and belts Vitaly with a metal chair. Oh wait thats the WWE.
Truthfully, get rid of the belts so that either Don King will own all of boxing or none of it. Hopefully none of it. Wait........Don Kind could be the commissioner of boxing. Ok I'll stop.
cause then we would want to see john ruiz fights
TOO-SHAY! Great response my brother
Johnny Loiuse and Croney Stone are the cutest couple in all of boxing
- SacTown1
By Lesbians who make out in between rounds. Or strippers that take off clothes round by round so people root for a fight to go the distance.
why not a live sexxx show in between rounds? :spank:
