To all the Hatton fans. If Hatton was to beat floyd what would be his gameplan to neutralize floyds quickness ,agility ,and ring generalship..How would Hatton capitalize on Floyd's weaknesses?
That Collazo fight was a stinker, but you can chuck a loud of reasons why Hatton didn't perform. Hatton really shouldn't be in there against Big welterweights anyway he's just giving up too many advantages. He still won though! so thats to his credit.
If Hatton had beat the crap out of Collazo I would give him a chance in this fight. What happened was Hatton won but was getting beat up in the process. If you looked at both fighters after the fight you'd have thought Hatton recieved a beat down. I think neither fighter will show anything new in this fight and looking at their styles and previos wins at the weight you simply have to favor mayweather by a wide, wide margin. Hatton could win and if he did it would have to be concidered an upset. Myself I won't buy this fight because after you ignor the media bullsh*% and look at it subjectively the outcome is almost easy to predict. Mayweather by decision, him running backwards and Hatton chasing him getting his face peppered for his trouble
It seems realistic. He only started to falter aftr the sixth round, Hatton's best of the fight.
Anyone who says "Hatton as a reputation as someone who fades late" has only seen two fights. Hatton's gameplan is to start fast and keep up the pressure for four rounds, box smartly for the next few and step it up down the stretch. And throw plenty of right hands to the body.
yeah exactly i expect hatton to be in the shape of his life.... i just hope all the rich living and blowing up between fights dont catch up with him. i cant see it though
Hattons gameplan will be to sortie into Mayweathers body for the first 6 rounds.
It will have to be controlled though. I can see Hatton hurting PFB in the midrift. Them ribs shots really f&*&ing hurt.

Hatton already has the reputation of a fighter who doesn't fade in fights. Which is why his fading in the Urango fight was considered such a shock to the commentators and spectators. Hatton will be ready to go fifteen rounds, just as he was against Tszyu, just as he was against Castillo.
i agree, i think there was reports he had a chest infection the week leading up to that fight with urango??
Those are two of his last three fights, so I think it's perfectly acceptable to use them as a basis of analysis. And the analysis is that Ricky Hatton has gained the reputation of a late fader. Like I said, he was fat again at the press tour. I don't care how hard he's training now, he's going to wear out like he has been. Urango wore him down by being durable, which Floyd won't do. Collazo wore him down by slipping punches, countering and making Ricky move around. Floyd will do the same, only a thousand times better. Just watch.

Floyd likes his space, and time to pick his shots. Hatton obviously doesnt give opponents any space. He smothers them and and applies constant high intensity pressure. He wears down his opponents.
Floyd is defensivly minded, and on the inside his main concern is not getting hit. Then once his opponent misses with his shots and stops his attack, Floyd pot shots. I think Hatton will try to just out work him constantly. Suffocate the shit outa him, out muscle him, and try and land some hurtful body shots. I believe it is possible Hatton can win a UD.
Hatton wont be able to throw a body shot without nady deducting a point. Surely he wouldn`t agree to fighting Floyd with Nady in charge, that would be suicide.

Hatton took the fight at 2 weeks notice. He also won the fight.
I see this fight playing out like JLC PBF 1 but with PBF quitting in the 10th round with a sprained pussy.

well in my opinion his gameplan is tightly linked to the referee.... if the ref doesn't allow any inside fighting and holding then this fight becomes a snore fest. if hatton is allowed to use his physical strength on the inside and rough mayweather up then it becomes interesting. obviously hatton has to look for educated pressure but i cant remember a fight where the ref could play such an important role in the outcome of the fight
Do you know who the referee is for this fight?

well if you want to pick two of his worst fights out of his whole career as a barometer of his skills then thats your opinion.
Hatton was overweight in the Collazo fight having taken it at 2 weeks notice. Urango was a tough guy with some wicked bodyshots, fighting him will test anyones stamina. You can`t compare Urango to Floyd.
How many times has Hatton tired in the middle rounds? You have to remember that Floyd is moving back, countering and peppering him with straight shots,
Hatton isn`t getting tired in this fight in the middle rounds.
Urango and Collazo are two recent examples. Hatton comes out strong, and then wears down as the fight progresses. He has poor stamina, due to his constantly fluxuating weight. Even the Brit analysts put him on blast after both of these fights for not "living the life". I saw him at the press tour and he was fat AGAIN. I don't care how hard he's trained for Floyd, he won't have the needed energy to keep up any sort of effective assault. He keeps coming at you, sure, but Collazo and a slow Urango were able to catch him time and time again as he stumbles and fumbles his way into a clinch. Late in the fight is where Floyd is going to expose Ricky BADLY. Just wait and see.
