You just said styles make fights, and don't even realize why Ruslan's style is more effective against Algieri.
Like I said before. This is Manny/Sugar Shane all over again, except Algieri has much more spring to his step, and way taller.
I'm done arguing this. I'm bookmarking this thread, and bumping the hell out of this after the fight.
Fair enough but calm down my friend because at this point it is all speculation anyway, there is no need to post a thread stating your opinion if you are not up for a little lively debate.
That is what these forums are for, and that's why they fight the fights, to know who is the better man
Emmanuel Steward stated 50 Cent was a NY Golden Gloves champion. Not that that makes it unquestionable but he did have quite a bit of knowledge on the amateur scene.
Yes well Emmanuel Steward also said that the rapper Eminem would be the middleweight champion of the world if he was not a rapper.
And Emmanuel gathered all of this important information from getting PAID to hold the focus mitts for Eminem
aint never personal bro...lol i like a good beef from time to time. It aint never got gotta serious. Its the net lol and Boxing. and to answer your question...i dont know whos nuts i will swing off of next when Manny is gone ! lol
Hahaha your a good guy bro
Cheers M8
Damn he turned to the right and froze...then flopped down and started twerking
Damn man relax, yes he got knocked out and had some spasms but hey at least he WAS moving after he got sparked.
Unlike your namesake who was motionless after he was sparked, PAC Man who which I admire as a fighter and in general as a human being
but the moral is anyone can get sparked in the ring and yes it is thrilling and that's why we all love the sport of boxing but at least have a little respect for these warriors who put it all on the line
Thats why I stated that it didnt make it fact.
Of course, I am not saying you did say it was a fact.
I was just pointing out that Emmanuel got carried away sometimes
wow...when i grow up i wanna be just like you...nah just kidding...I dont wanna turn out homo. lol you're just a regular historian arnt you Nancy? woo woo woo..youve been watching boxing for 35 years.lol like i give fuk.
You sure put a lot into "fan Base"....lol you stupid shlt....if it wasnt for fans dumbass...where would they be? If Football didnt have a fanbase...the stands would be empty you dumbass. lol fans is what pays the meal tickets for athletes idiot. 35 yrs and dont know ****. lol Who gives a fuk what you seen come and go? lol Youre one of them "i know you are but what am i", kinda phags arnt you? Mocking you: "ive seen Pacquaio more than you...boo boo boo. nanny nanny boo boo....fuking grow up Mr Perfect. or dchampishere
Mocking you?
No just wanted to get you straight, I don't care if anyone gets knocked out because it's part of the game, it's not me or my family getting knocked out so why should I care
I pay to watch boxing and I have paid to see Manny fight thus putting money in his pockets on numerous occasions instead of downloading the **** for free on the net and calling myself a fan.
And yes I am a fight fan not an obsessed want to be hanging off of some mans nuts that I will never be like or even meet in person.
Grow boy and try to learn to be a man because Manny will retire soon then who's nuts are you going to swing off of then?
Nice try detective Dick Tracy
He will lose his next fight against the Russian in his adopted home town anyway, but really why the hate?
He accomplished a lot with almost no previous experience in the sport, and he did it all with very little skill, just with a big heart and a little power.
I can't hate anyone for that
wtf does Manny have to do with this you dumbshlt? WTF does this have to with me being a fan of MAnny...You dumbshlt...never mind dont answer...the more you type...the dumber you look.
That was actually kind of fun
I don't get to talk **** much to posters here because I don't take this stuff seriously
But hey PAC boy nothing personal I just felt like talking some ****.
And you gave me the outlet by telling me to shut the **** up, but now I am over it
Oh man...thanks for the moral story. That was nice. Now after you typed all that....shut the f8uck up....lol Hows that for respect. If you didnt take it personal you wouldnt have brought Manny into it. That just shows youre butt hurt that Love got booty dewed lol
I dont respect Floyd or anyone around him or anyone who has anything to do with him. So im tickled pink that one of his fighters got ktfo and dropped it like its hot and did a booty twerk on the floor. I find it quite fuking amusing.
Personally I don't give a **** about you or your gay ass hate for another fighter because he opposes your man crush.
I have been watching boxing for over 35 years and I have seen them all come and go, and I can not wait until Floyd and PAC ****ing retire so boxing can lose the two worst fan bases in the history of ****ing boxing.
****ing fan boy
Edit: and calling yourself another mans "boy" is pretty ****ing gay IMO but hey to each his own, and I bet I have paid to see Manny PAC fight live more times than you have Pac boy (I still have all the ticket stubs to prove it)
Ruslan wasnt hitting him clean, is slow and limited..are you comparing Ruslan to Manny??? wow
This pretty much if the Russian could catch him, bloody his face and knock him down more then once then Manny should shred him pretty easy.
Styles make fights. What's effective against one opponent is as effective against another.
Algieri has the style where you have to keep constant pressure on him, and have to bang his body non stop til the final bell rings. Since when does Manny fight like that?
This is gonna look like Manny/Sugar Shane, except Algieri has a lot more spring in his step at this point, and his jab will be in Manny's face the whole time.
Styles make fights is 100% correct, the Russian only really throws hooks that are effective and eats way too many punches coming in, Manny is a completely different fighter who throws mostly straight shots from unorthodox angles with speed and more than a little pop.
And is also elusive so Algieri is going to have to find Manny first with the jab while walking a mine field, and he does not have the skill set to do it.
Manny's punches swell his opponents faces and Algieri from his last fight looks like a bleeder, and with no power to keep Manny honest, it is a mismatch.
I mean, it's EXTREMELY obvious what Floyd is doing. Just like it was obvious when Garcia picked Ariza shortly after Roach got rid of him -- when a Pacquaio fight was coming up next. :lol1:
Sh*t is mind games and partially for inside information. And if a Pacquaio fight is next year, Ariza will be see again with TMT for very obvious reasons. I'm more hopeful for a Pacquaio fight since this new revelation.
This exactly, it is all gamesmanship.
But most of you kids don't understand such an abstract form of mind games, that is not abstract at all.
It is pretty obvious what is going on
I had Rossy fighting glazkov to a draw & nagy Aguilera easily outpointing Gerald Washington 78-72. rossy could have easily have been given the win but it was a duva event & no way her IBF #2 ranked fighter will lose on the cards in a close fight. Aguilera beat him 6 rounds to 2 in my eyes. aggressive, landed combos to the head & body, used a good jab to back him up & hurt him afew times where Gerald clinched. Washington back pedal all night & landed the odd 1-2 but never could stop nagy from putting on the pressure. it's nice to see some journeymen fighters involved in solid fights. I'd like to see rossy\Aguilera go at it in a crossroads journeymen fight...
I would like to check out those fights Joe, and of course this being boxing too many times a fighter is unjustly rewarded for a fight that they had no right winning, but hey gotta take the good with the bad in the sport we love
Whatever all you "good guys" say.
if some guy is talking sh1t to me, making racial slurs and threats against my family and then wants to get in the ring with me, I do not care about how mentally stable he is or about his physical stature, I am going to do as much bodily harm I can to this person.
Some of you people are really to much, it is always easy to judge someone but let someone answer one of your posts with a comment you do not like or insult you over the net and most posters here get highly emotional about it.
"Oh but he should of done this" stfu
Lets see him come and try to win the belt from Klit, I bet he can't do that. If MMA fighters can be successful in boxing why not? Floyd makes 30-40 mil more than they do. Thing is you can't just walk into the sport of boxing. There are some exceptions but for the most part boxers have been training since childhood. In MMA you can be in your mid 20's come from a wrestling background and compete at the highest levels. Not so much in boxing.
But the wrestling background is almost the equal to having an amature pedigre in boxing since it is a base skill set (grappling) for MMA.
so your point is moot.
If he does all those things he's no longer a boxer...lol
Those things are not that easy and you are over simplifying it. A boxer at a lower level can learn those things and have some success...maybe.
Just like I'm sure that mma fighter in the video can beat some low level boxers I'm sure.
In the end though, if you want to talk about the higher level fighters in both sports, you cannot just join and think you can learn something in a few months or even a couple of years and think you can compete.
You will get the living dog sh1t kicked out of you.
This exactly, two different sports.
the funny thing is that most people who reply have never competed in any combat sport.
I boxed as a kid, wrestled as a teenager and young adult and got my black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as a old man and compeated in all three.
anyone who crosses over in the other discipline with out proper training will get owned, no question.
Was going to post this, I don't think people remember the HYPE surrounded JuanMa Lopez a few years ago
I think Arum thought he had the next Cotto because he sure did Protect the hell out of him from Gamboa:sad:
Andre Berto OF COURSE agree with others Posting Victor Ortiz he was Oscar first Protege before Canelo lol
Consider the HYPE behind Bute and Lemieux before they got knocked out, Lemieux seem like he is working his way back but after the Pascal loss, that put a END to BUTE!
I dont see how any body can call an ex champ a prospect, when you win the belt that is when the prospect label is officially justified and removed.
Those are ex champs who did not live up to the expectations.
Someone who loses a large chunk of his fights.
The notion that guys with otherwise good records are bums if they lose once today is pretty silly.
Win or lose my friend they are still men to me.
A bum is the person who talks **** but would never take the risk themselves
Anybody who has won a world title is no longer a prospect, why is that fact so hard to understand for some people?
A prospect means a prospective champion, so when they win a belt the prospect label was justified and removed and replaced with champion or ex champion
The only Bums i know of in boxing are the fans who talk ***** about fighters.
Anybody who steps in that ring to do battle is a man regardles of skill level.
I was thinking something similar.
Dude looks like he lives in a homeless shelter :lol1:
No joke that guy looks like his is stright from those "Bum Fight" vids
I would imagine world wide, that there are just as many amateur boxers as there are wrestlers. The US maybe different, but World wide is another thing all together.
You have a point, depending on the country for example I would wager that countrys like Cuba and maybe England have more amature boxers then wrestlers,
but in the U.S for example almost every juinor high and high school have an amature wrestling program and the last few years I was an amature boxer I was a heavyweight and there were very few heavyweights or super heavys to match against so the number has to be close to 20 to 1 more westlers if not more
that was one of the reasons I switched to wrestling when I hit high school (and I got sparked in my last boxing match is another reason, lol)
Wrestling is much easier to learn than boxing. I am around both sports constantly. I have a niece who is a national free style wrestling champ who actually just competed in Fargo nationals recently and I am also around boxers of all levels everyday from kids to pros. I can tell you that wrestling is a much more organic sport as our first reaction is to go to the ground in a fight. It is easier to pick up and learn. Boxing is like gymnastics wherein the younger you begin the better your chances are than if you started later on. You got guys in mma who just picked up a ground game and they don't need years to get to a competitive level to add to their arsenal. Boxing is counter instinctive and your natural reaction to a punch coming at you is totally different from how a boxer would and a person should react. Most people would over react to a punch coming at them. Among other things for example, boxers are taught to slip punches and make opponents miss by hair so they can counter. This is a counter instinctive reaction that has to be ingrained. Keeping a stance, keeping hands up while throwing, throwing fluid combinations, pivots, throwing technical punches, etc, etc. This is why I say it is easier for a boxer to go into mma than vice versa. If you could beat floyd mayweather, pacquiiao, cotto, canelo for a bigger payday why not then, its only punching right. That'l be the day
Actually that is a matter of opinion one which is easier, it all dependes on your god given talent, saying wrestling is easier then boxing is like saying sprinting is easier that long distance runing which is absurd.
I take it you have never wrestled before, which is obvious from your statement.
I have done both and competed at a higher level at werstling only because of my good given strengths not because as a discipline wrestling is easier.
And from your statement that wrestling is the more natural combat sport by instinct then it by nature should be harder to excell in, no?
And that still does not address the fact that wrestling is the equal to an amature pedigree on boxing
Edit: I am and always have been a boxing fan and watch every fight i can (my dad was a pro for a bit) and seldom do i watch amature wrestling unless i know the wrestlers but saying that boxing is the harder sport to learn is silly
Rematch is for proving and removing ALL DOUBTS who won the first fight. No doubts means, no what ifs.. Including the what if Maidana wore his MX GLOVES?
If Floyd continues this stunt. This rematch won't prove anything even if Floyd wins it. Still the doubts of the gloves issue will not be answered.
Hence, this rematch stinks.
What?
Some people have some serious hate issues, gloves by themselfs dont win fights
