Someone who loses a large chunk of his fights.
The notion that guys with otherwise good records are bums if they lose once today is pretty silly.
Win or lose my friend they are still men to me.
A bum is the person who talks **** but would never take the risk themselves
The only Bums i know of in boxing are the fans who talk ***** about fighters.
Anybody who steps in that ring to do battle is a man regardles of skill level.

Bum gets thrown around to loosely, even Breto can't be considered a bum as many labeled him one.
A bum is the people you fight in the beginning of your career the first couple of fights with fighters that have losing records, some of them are part time boxers.
american boxing = a fighter who just shows up and doesn't give his all
british boxing = the location of the body where any of their heavyweights start to feel scared once they realize they are out matched; three recent ones come to mind :boxing:
I use it jokingly. Danny is a bum to me right now for fighting Ron Salsa, a real bum is Brian Sutherland :lol1:
Sorry Mike
How dare you!!!
Brian Sutherland actually invented "beast mode"
You think Keith thurman is a bad man.... Wait till you see suthland!!!
#TBE
Never call fighters "BUMS" that is a very ignorant thing to say about someone that would likely kick my a$$ so me labeling them "Bums" WTF is that saying about myself?
This is why I say stuff like THIS need to happen more so fans can understand that what these men do for a living is NO JOKE:
If you have no respect for what these guys do for a living then why the fuk are you here because clearly you are not a boxing fan.
Bum..........someone who purposely fights below his skill level.
...............someone who takes a dive (purposely looses)
.............someone who doesn't prepare properly and enters the ring out of shape. (lesser extent)
Bum & Hyped & Great are the most misused words on the forum.
Ray.
It also depends on the level of competition..
floyd vs randall bailey,, bailey would be considered a bum
but make a fight like bailey vs frankie gomez, and bailey isnt a bum...
It just depends on the matchmaking.. Wlad vs Mccorimick, mccormick is a bum.. but have mccormick vs james toney, and its alot more even and mccormick isnt a bum..
all depends on the match up
A bum to me is like a guy that Roy Jones Jr is fighting today.
I see a lot of people call guys like Andy Lee,Brandon Rios,Khan, etc bums...I don't agree with that. I mean they aren't A level fighters, but they are decent, solid fighters.
