Hearn needs to stop pretending that he would want this fight to happen without making an arrangement to have some financial control over wilder beyond that fight. At the end of the day, I'd prefer to see wilder vs Joshua but to say fighting Ortiz is an embarrassment when Ortiz is a higher rated heavyweight than anyone Joshua has fought (or in the case of miller, planned to face) in the past 2 yrs. Wilder's best 2 opponents are still better than Joshua's best 2 opponents. So the supposed fear of Joshua that Hearn is trying to portray is a joke.
Wilder's two best opponents are his only two! Why do you Hearn/AJ haters seem ok with the fight not happening? Even when the proof is right in front of you, the haters still insist everything is Hearn/AJ fought!
I'm not going to give Garcia credit for coming into a fight trying only to survive to the last bell! Top p4p guys don't do that. Garcia has been picking on the smaller fighters at 135 and people want to credit him for that! This is the first time in Mikey's career he faced an elite fighter. Beating Broner, Liponet, Zlaticanin, and Easter doesn't make you a top p4p fighter.
By beating a c-level UK domestic fighter! Canelo is good but it's mind boggling how he gets credit for beating mismatch fighters! Well, he's not the only one!
Canelo's last 20 opponents (over 8 years):
Rocky Fielding - c-level domestic UK fighter
GGG (back to back) - great opponent
Chavez Jr - c-level bum fighter(has a name)
Liam Smith - c-level domestic UK fighter
Amir Khan - 147 lbs ko'd multiple times (has a name)
Miguel Cotto - shot old fighter(has a name) (good fighter at his prime)
James Kirkland - c-level fighter
Erislandy Lara - good opponent
Alfredo Angulo - c-level fighter
Floyd Mayweather Jr. - great opponent
Austin Trout - solid opponent
Josesito López - c-level fighter
Shane Mosley - shot old fighter (has a name) (great fighter at his prime)
Kermit Cintrón - shot fighter
Alfonso Gómez - c-level fighter
Ryan Rhodes - c-level fighter
Matthew Hatton - c-level fighter
Lovemore N'dou - c-level fighter
Carlos Baldomir - c-level fighter
As you can see, there are a lot of c-level & shot old fighters on the list dating back to 2010! Floyd, Lara, Trout, & GGG are the only credible opponents! Moseley & Cotto were great in their primes but shot, old, & used for their names when Canelo faced them. It's crazy how many would lead you to believe Canelo's resume is top notch but it's the farthest from the truth! The weird thing about Canelo's resume is it's actually better than most because the top fighters refuse to fight one another. I believe Canelo is a top five p4p fighter & if I was a betting man, I would pick Canelo to beat Charlo & Jacobs! I just wanted to show how Canelo gets credit for beating a lot of c-level & shot old fighters but I will admit he's not the only one.
Aj fans love this idea they want Joshua to keep fighting pies(fury is 300 lbs ffs) to avoid wilderA promoter's job is to promote their fighters to fullest while maximizing their profits at the same time! Wilder would be making more than $900,000 a fight if he had a promoter who was doing the same thing as Hearn is doing for Joshua! Joshua has made more money in his last two fights than Wilder has made his entire career. There's more money in Joshua fighting Fury than Wilder so what does that say about Wilder? You are the same people who has been criticizing Wilder the past few years for fighting bums while avoiding fighting top guys are now saying Joshua is afraid to fight Wilder.
Its starting to sound more by the day like you won't fight Wilder because your scared hell snatch your belts & stop the gravy train hearn has u on.:purity:
A promoter's job is to promote their fighters to fullest while maximizing their profits at the same time! Wilder would be making more than $900,000 a fight if he had a promoter who was doing the same thing as Hearn is doing for Joshua! Joshua has made more money in his last two fights than Wilder has made his entire career with 20 pro fights to Wilder's 34 pro fights! It has nothing to do with being scared! It's all about the money! Just ask your favorite fighter Floyd! Its a shame that Wilder has been only motivated to fight top fighters within the last 12 months.
Its crazy how the boxing public fell for this over-hyped fighter between a amateur/pro! It's clear Floyd carried Conor throughout the entire fight but a lot of people are giving Conor credit for really doing nothing! Floyd could have ended the fight before the 4th round if he wanted to. I'm all for guys maximizing their profit but this is part of the reason many top fighters refuse to fight other top fighters. Fans DO NOT support top fighters fighting other top fighters, instead, they support BOXING EVENTS! Why should the best fight the best when fans don't support it?
Does Floyd think it was wrong for a guy to be unconscious on his feet from blows to the head but Floyd continued to make the guy fight In his dog house boxing antics?
start fighting the best! this is the first true test of Mikey's career and the guy has 40 fights! jumping up in weight to fight the Broners & Lipinets of the world is not impressive and doesn't deserve praise! Neither does picking the weakest title holder and claiming to be a true multiple division champ! Beating Spence and then challenging the other top guys will get you the respect you're looking for.
Floyd giving props to Crawford hoping he leaves Top Rank and cross over to TMT! Crawford will be crazy to deal with Floyd knowing he likes to make it all about himself. Crawford name can create his own brand.
Kownacki being loyal to haymon and premier boxing champions. I love it. The man remembers where he came from. Fast Eddie must have wanted a 5 fight option contract as well.....”you are now a deadzone fighter”You suspect fanboys true colors are coming to the light! You can't hide anymore! You're not real boxing fans, you're groupies for promotional companies! The Kardashian of boxing are infiltrating our sport!
I'm not surprised Mikey doesn't want any part of Crawford! Mikey has been claiming he would fight any one from Cotto, Thurman, D. Garcia, Lomo to Linaires! Spence, Porter, Crawford, etc. are available before the end of the year.
I hate to say it but he's exactly right! people gave Jacobs twice as much credit for hanging in their than GGG got for beating the second best middleweight! Jacobs has been celebrating that lost to GGG as the best thing of his career.
Joshua is the man in the Heavyweight division! Wilder has no where to go if he doesn't start fighting top 10 guys! Wilder will be stuck fighting the Stiverns of the world while making only 900K!
Why no one is talking about how Team Canelo & Golden Boy was pleased with the draw decision? People like to criticize GGG for different reasons his last two opponents (Jacobs/Canelo) was very happy with going the distance with GGG. That's a sign of a really good fighter when his opponents goal is to last the entire fight!
I like seeing the young talent Stevenson and Lopez getting tested on the card. Better than watching J'Leon lose as the co main event.
Exactly! That Spence/Garcia card was horrible!
All of you who are talking about a fighter being afraid of the other don't know sh*t about boxing! First, Wilder knows AJ is his meal ticket and Haymon almost convinced AJ to take the $50 million which would have netted Wilder 5-8 times more than what he actually deserves! Secondly, AJ is a position to control everything at the negotiation table which doesn't come often! After Dela Hoya left the fight game only Floyd, Manny, Cotto, & now Canelo are the only fighters to be in this type of position. You don't give that power up for the money! Having that type of power will bring AJ possibly $500 million over the rest of his career. I hate to say it but Wilder needs AJ much more than AJ needs him. Averaging $1.5 million per fight is great money for Wilder but AJ is making 15x's more! If the fight is made in the U.K., AJ will still make close to $50 million & possibly more depending on the PPV buys in the U.S. but the only difference is most of his purse will come on the back end compared to the offer Haymon provided with the $50 million paid up front with no control over negotiations. Having power will keep you rich forever! Just ask the wealthy!!
Of course he is, beating Dib is the only way he can do that and get a big fight. Guy is trash and a disgrace to the sport now. He really needs psychological helpThe criticism needs to be thrown more at the organization who's giving a top 5 rankings to a guy who hasn't won a meaningful fight in many years and who quit in his last fight! The stage is being set for Manny/Khan fight in the near future so I'm pulling for Dibs and Thurman to derail the potential circus fight between Manny/Khan.
Brook usually comes in around 170lbs on fight night and now he's being demanded to come in no more than 157lbs! I have a feeling the type of gloves are about to be negotiated!!
Garcia is a great fighter and P4P top guy, the fact Spence completely dominated him shouldn’t be a knock on Garcia but rather a praise of how good Spence is.
I can only hope this fight elevates Spence and allows him to carry the sport like Mayweather before him.
Maybe next time he fights atCowboy stadium against say Crawford, the stadium will be filled with his supporters.
I'm not going to give Garcia credit for coming into a fight only to survive to the last bell!
I would like to see Garcia step up to face Crawford but I don't think he's up for it! It seem as if Mikey is focus on moving back down to 135 until Crawford moves up to 147! I see a lot of people calling for Crawford to move up but the same people are content with Mikey staying/moving back down to 135!
lowball confirmed
hearn sets market price for miller at 6.5
offers higher ranked guy 5 mil...higher ranked guy also had FOTY candidate in nyc against a top 3 HW previously
somehow hearn thinks miller is worth more than Ortiz=crazy
lowball confirmed...attempt to kill fight complete...way to go eddie
best part is these aren't the only guys to accuse hearn of lowballing...it spans not only the HW division too
You do know Ortiz has fought a few times since loosing to Wilder right? Why no one has really mentioned those fights? They were all undercard fights for other fighters! No one will pay Ortiz any mind unless he fights Wilder or Joshua! Ortiz has been only making $200,000 - 400,000 per fight since banking $500,000 vs Wilder! I do believe his team is not doing right by him! Sorry to say but Ortiz will never be a headliner, cash cow, popular fighter! He deserves a big payday and this was his chance!
