Conor McGregor's improbable challenge of Floyd Mayweather Jr. was a hit at the box office and could end up the biggest pay-per-view ever. Preliminary figures released by Showtime PPV on Friday showed the fight was tracking in the "mid to high" 4 million range, threatening the 4.6 million record set by Mayweather's 2015 fight with Manny Pacquiao. Showtime's Stephen Espinoza said the number will likely rise some as more firm figures come in. Click Here To Read More]
Can Espinoza now focus on making non circus fights?
There was nothing this week, next week, then the next, then the next.
How can you sustain monthly subscribers on such situation?
That's what everyone should expect. But we're nearing the last quarter of this year and there's not a lot of fight schedules on the table yet. I see massive numbers canceling their subscriptions again.
I could care less. It doesn't affect me, it just shows how Gullible people are in believing good **** talkers. "I'm going to KO Mayweather in four"
"We are going to build a wall and make Mexico pay for it"
"We are going to repeal Obama Care"
Talking is easy, doing is another thing.
Too ignorant to place the blame where it belongs... in Congress.
btw, "If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor. Your premiums will go down." You grubers still own that mess.
Fights rarely live up to expectations but in this case, everybody with sense expected a complete wipe out. So in that regard, it exceeded expectations. In fights like mayweather vs pac, tito vs Oscar, people expected much better than what was produced so those fights were let downs. This one really wasn't because the expectations were low.
at first when the fight was announced i thought may will ko him within 5 rounds, then i watched some fights of mcgregor and thought he might even hear the final bell. after i saw the weigh in however, i changed my mind again and said floyd will walk through his punches and stop him, because conor looked a bit drained during the weigh in. it was the best fight of the night along with badou jack vs clev, the tank davis fight was boring as hell. i would say this was floyd's best fight since maidana 1. if conor was a boxer instead of a mma fighter, he would get much more credit for his performance imo :D

Still wearing your "I'm with her" shirt and crying since November 8th? Good grief, get over it, snowflake.

I really think they mean that is close to 4m... but Ok maybe im the wrong one lol...
In your sig Tito is saying "Not one Mexican beat me. I ate all their assholes."
Salad tossing? Isn't that a little gay?
Just domestic from what I can tell; international PPV/tv comes at too many different price points to be lumped in with the usual PPV conversation.
Oh ok you would think a buy is a buy, must have been massive world wide.
Do they include world wide PPV sales in this or its just domestic ?

I never shat on his experience. He wanted my opinion, and I gave him the truth. If he thinks that was a good fight, then just wait til I show him some real classics! I'm not going to coddle people who want the truth. I'm glad they liked the taste of that fight, but it was beef jerky, not filet mignon.
If a person likes beef jerky, then the person may like other jerkies and other beefs.
Call it what you want, but the sport always needs more folks to follow it, and you may have messed it up for your friend.
Because, odds are pretty good that he's probably gonna think your "real classics" aren't all that great; not everyone likes filet mignon.
Not everyone will like, appreciate, or want to see blood and guys brawls that boxing fans hold onto as "real fighting".
Mid to high to 4 mil... meaning getting close to 4 million... if not it would surpass May-Pac fight already lol...
LMAOOOOO. It's ok it's ok, I am pretty sure English isn't your first language bud.
Reading comprehension is important. Might want to go back to grade schoolI really think they mean that is close to 4m... but Ok maybe im the wrong one lol...
... Why **** on a non-fan's experience when they enjoyed the event?
Last I checked, the public story was that folks here wanted to see more people interested in watching boxing.

A non-boxing fan who watched the match told me that he thought it was a great fight. I told him it was not that good, it just seemed exciting because of the 'edge of your seat' aspect of seeing a revered MMA superstar try to beat the most famous boxer in recent years.

Espinoza is probably preparing for TBE's next cheque for $200 M.
Then another. Probably leaving nothing much for Showtime's non-circus fights.
No wonder nothing meaningful is getting made for the rest of the year.
It all went to Mayweather's guarantees, promotional expenses, production, etc.
