It was the first time he fought someone his size in a decade. We got too used to him fighting welter-middleweight monsters like Margarito, Cotto, or even Horn.
Even a way past prime Manny smokes anyone around his size (natural 135-140 lber).
lucas quit. it wasnt like manny knocked him out cold. i knew lucas was gonna quit.
That first uppercut that Manny landed in the 3rd that put Lucas down also took his soul. Dude wanted NO part of that fight after that punch.
Why is he comparing Floyd's earnings to Tyson and Holyfield? Their total revenue can't hold Floyd's jockstrap.
Didn't Tyson make like $300 million in career earnings?
That was mostly in the 80s-90s too. With inflation, he's probably on par with Floyd. And Mike declared bankruptcy in 2003.
So just a few receipts for some steaks is good enough for the commission?
Shouldn't they get a lab get meat from that same location(s) and see if it tests positive for clenbuterol?
Floyd hater here. I know everything about Money is greatly embellished, especially his... Money.
But even if he only made 1/4 of what he claims he did for Manny and McGregor, that's more than enough money to pay back whatever back taxes, gambling debts, etc he has.
Unless he's just a complete illiterate when it comes to $ and he has absolutely no competent accountants, financial advisers around him I can't imagine he's broke ALREADY.
Now if 10 years from now it's announced that Floyd is filing for bankruptcy I'd say yeah, sounds about right.
And?? This is supposed to prove what?
That at some point in the last 3 months or so, Canelo or someone he knows bought steak one time.
If that's good enough for Boxing's governing body, that's good enough for us fans.
Let's get ready to rumbbbbbbblllllllleeeeeeeee :boxing:
Wilder went life.and death with Ortiz lol. Joshua just won by landslide.against Parker.
Yeah Wilder was getting schooled by someone's Cuban grandfather not that long ago. Not exactly a performance to brag about until the late KO when abuelo gassed out.
Both guys are just lucky they were born when they were.
Why did Holyfield Jr have to pick football?
Pacquiao would get slaughtered at lightweight, let alone jr. Middle Weight, and him fighting anyone at Welter is suicide. They are stronger, more talented, faster, and bigger, and better up there than he is..
:haha:
Funny how now you write long essays about how Pacquiao is cherry picking/picked the same 'stronger, more talented, faster, and bigger, and better' fighters from lightweight up once he DESTROYED them. You're not fooling anyone, Horus.
What a clown :lol1:
God damned cherry-picking ass midget :soapbox::purity:
Why is he picking on smaller guys in the featherweight division when he could move up to welter and take on real challenges against bigger fighters? I'll tell you why, because he'd get demolished. Cotto, Margarito, Clottey, Mosley- all those guys would flatten him like a bug and Manny's people know it, that's why he's staying in the lighter weights.
True story.
Oct 24 - Floyd Mayweather Jr disses Sugar Ray Leonard
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In a recent article by Brian Doogan for the Times Online, Doogan quotes Sugar Ray Leonard from a recent boxing awards dinner in Vegas. Sugar Ray, talked openly about the way Floyd Mayweather Jr., acted and treated him at the event.
The Legendary Sugar Ray said he was approached by Mayweather Jr., and Mayweather Jr. began to berate him for losing to a lightweight (another legend, Roberto Duran) when he was in his prime. Sugar Ray recalls at that time smiling
and shaking his head ruefully.
Sugar Ray said: “He said, ‘Ray, you know, if you were in my era you wouldn’t be in the top 10’.
Sugar Ray had compliments and strong advice for Mayweather Jr., adding: “Of all the fighters today, I have to say that Mayweather reminds me the most of me. The kid has every gift and physical attribute, but if he continues to be the type of person he is, he’ll never be up there with us. He’ll never make it."
i took this from boxden....who took it from dog house....
if this is true, floyds an *******....
if this has been posted...hit delete bpp.
The bold... Ray called it perfectly.
And if Duran, Hearns, Hagler, Benitez, etc; you know- guys that Ray fought in his era were calling for fights with Floyd in his, Money May would've been in a career long 'vacation' :cool2:
I stopped watching the fight, I'm barely watching it.
Same. Disappointment too since I was actually looking forward to this fight. How often do you see a name fighter like Kermit on ESPN? Looks like there's a reason for that. 5 years ago, he would've cold KO'ed a guy like Smith in 6 rounds. Now he's in a battle against him.
His time has passed. I know Top Rank is pissed since they just signed him expecting big things (Pacquiao, Cotto, etc fights), now he's reduced to life and death fights on ESPN2 :lol1:
These dudes about to run boxing, the dynamic duo

Mike doesn't talk to women unless he's gonna fornicate with em.
Judah dropped Floyd? Where was I.
Probably on vacation.
The shane mosely fight is enough to convince me that Floyd would dominate Pac. Manny Steward said it best after the Mosely fight.
The Shane should've been enough to convince you that Floyd could beat a 38 year old fighter who had been inactive for a year and 4 months, who had been through 2 straight full-length training camps back-to-back... and he still almost got taken out in 2 rounds.
Shane fights NOTHING like Pac. The only fighter who even remotely resembles Manny that Floyd has fought is Zab, and he's the poor man's version AT BEST. Miguel Cotto would be the first to tell you that.
There's a reason Floyd would rather vacation than earn an $50-$60 mil for one night's work against someone who's supposedly not in his league. He doesn't feel it's worth the risk.
