You can get stripped of the belts if you don't do the rematch that's contracted.
Fury pulled out of the Klitschko rematch and they stripped him.
by the same token the ibf stripped him BECAUSE he signed to a rematch. The whole unification vs mando thing as well is interesting
I wonder what the legal damages are for fortfeiting the rematch clause. It'll probs be worth it to haymon to have one american fighter with all the HW belts.
Gormans wife has just given birth today, don't doubt it'll be a factor as he's in London and they're in Manchester. I had him tipped to beat dubois as I think he's quite robotic and not necessarily even that powerful, thudding but not snapping. His interviews too, the guy has zero charisma, not that that makes a boxer, but if I follow guys interviews between their fights, it's good when they have summit to say.
He won't even get to see them I don't think till after the fight, that could make him go one of two ways. One, distracted and get clipped. Two, realise if he beats dubois he's making the best start to a potentially lucrative run, securing his families future, so is ultra focussed and determined
thick as bricks.... 12.5 offer will have been sent to his management drafting a UK based fight where matchroom take lead on all promo.. the fight by matchrooms estimates is probs in the region of 40m total purse wise..
100m sounds outlandish and both hearn and Josh say in interviews if there was a 50m up front offer, they'd take it because it's so ridiculous that someone could put up that much money up front for this fight.. its like wilder watched the interview and has just fired up the email, no discussing with his management first. as for his management's cancelling of ideal face to face meets, what's with that? contracts happen between management, not the fight themselves
there's only one guy been filling stadiums here, they know what the fight is roughly worth and are right to question anyone able to put up 50m up front unless wilder is behind the scene taking short money compared, probs in line with the 12.5m offer ironically

bit late now, even if exonerated that may 5th fight is gone. should have waited on hair test before suspension/pulling out the fight, shame really.
it does also show no other peds been used by him too, I think they should just take routine hair sample from fighters, establishing a constantly testable history for proving innocence/guilt
if that is the case, then the number of people willing to pay to watch his fights on TV in the US should, according to your argument, be higher than any "baby s#it" UK ppv figures, so why wasn't that last fight with Ortiz a ppv? he could be earning much more... would you not question that if you were wilder?
I'm not even talking live gates here, but the people in America simply aren't putting their money where their mouth is for wilder the way the UK is consistently backing Joshua.
Hate on UK all you want but how much have you personally put down to see wilder fight? most UK people in here will have paid towards a ppv for Joshua at some point, others like myself have travelled to see multiple fights live
really shows that it's in the ring that counts. remember the amazing speed of Parker in his training videos that we seen nothing of in the fight (btw he only looked so fast because he didn't turn his hands over on the punch). wilder looks awful training here but he gets in the ring and looks far more composed, right until he wobbles the guy then it's admittedly fence swinging
Definitely better, you'll probs find as a beginner your fitness is letting your defence down, probs too gassed to move out/to the side effectively and have hand discipline to be keeping them up.
It's an excellent motivator to increase your fitness with sprints hiit etc and the progress does come.
Interesting, but I am aware that people get rankings by having their fights sanctioned by orgs for minor belts to get up in their specific rankings. That's then up to promoters, managers and of course fighters as I imagine some are less expensive than others and press the chance to box for a belt on a smaller show. Look at yarde, no British/Commonwealth/ebu euro, or 'traditional route' but is no 2 wbo as he has been fighting and defending firstly their euro belt after he won southern area, and now is inter continental champ. There's a guy ahead of him in rankings though that never boxed for any wbo belt.. But, the guy he last beat was wbo North America champ, so status of beaten opponents must carry weight even though the fighter who beat them may not have paid any sanctioning fees (which is no doubt discouraged).
#complicated and I imagine orgs hate having a fully a unified undisputed champ because the carrot of 'box for our minor belts to get a world title shot' becomes invalid if you have to still get in line with another 3 guys who all also have minor belts from the other orgs
I'm liking what I see of this kids and he only loves around 20 miles from me so I'm happy to see a local guy come onto the scene with this fan friendly style. He's definitely passing the eye test for his balance, reflexes and agility. I'm not going to necessarily say a bigger loma, but I think the slipping of multitudes of pinches in a row is massively impressive and he comes back with crisp accurate and powerful combos.
I know he hasn't been tested yet, but c'mon, only 4 fights in, no negative record opponents. Good coach match up seeing as groves and Haye have that hands down solid jab style
Someone like David Benavidez as he's young enough (20yo) to possibly rack up that many fights at this point, then again his come forward tear-up style wont last. Guys in your list who are 30+ years old with around 30something fights aren't going to get another 20ish wins against top opposition before they fall short because of age.
BTW, Andrew Ward, 0-2 already haha
I would like a WBSS for 175 for sure, so many great fihts there, a tourney is just whats needed for all them vacant belts. If ramirez and benavidez start getting tight at 168 too, they'd be great additions to this division.
As for stevenson, what a damn shame the guy has wasted it
Definitely looking forward to see Crawford at 147, if his power carries up, I think he could potentially outskill bigger guys who carry more power, but a beard test too is needed for all the top guys as they hopefully start to fight each other.
Did Thurman establish new lineage or is that now horn? Obviously mayweather was lineal and retired undefeated so it's broken anyway, but as unified champ, Thurman is the man right now.
See sig below, all of boxing is just exhibitions... Guys are making money to box, having met the jurisdictions licence requirements. It's not for any titles, so why people getting mad?
Dropped Ward, beat Stevenson, took kovalev the distance for the first time in his career and by split decision even. Crazy to have those kind of accolades
mikey, just because they fought so close in time that it could be both their next fight (if the promo issue could be worked past) and it lets him enjoy another 140lb fight where every belt is on the line. I did always want to see crawford v broner even though it never happened, but as broner lost to mikey, lets see them fight.
I'd have said manny, as a torch passing fight, but bob ruined that giving him to horn and now crawford would get no credit for beating him. mikey is undefeated, fighting at 140, is on peoples p4p, so lets see it.
I can't stand seeing this triggered lefty rubbish! making everything into some kind of 'ist, I'm mixed black, that **** was not racist, he is passing comment on his opinion that Floyd dances instead of fighting, and calling him boy, well, these guys are about to punch each other in the head, get some fking context.
it's as annoying as commentators apologising for bad language in the corner of a fight, a FIGHT FFS! if you are so sensitive to a curse word, you ain't going to be tuning in at 11pm to watch 2 guys try knock fk out of one another. triggered fkin puzzys! gtfoh!
