A replay system needs to be play in boxing and it needs to be implemented ASAP. If there was a replay system, then today's fight ends in a draw instead of a Whyte win. There was a three point difference between a head butt that should never have been called a knockdown. Also gives the ref a better idea if a cut was caused by a head butt or a punch. There needs to be neutral official just looking at the replays and making the call during the one minute break.
Just watching Roman/Barrios, the ref called the cut on Barrios a punch when it was from a head butt.
It is almost impossible for the ref to catch everything, especially depending on the angle they are at.
Thoughts?
It's easy to do. Say in Golovkin V Canelo as an example, Golovkin drops Canelo but it's with a forearm/headbutt combo and not a proper punch and the referee doesn't see that. He assumed the knockdown is legit and starts the count against Canelo.
During the minute break at the end of the round, the ref reviews the knockdown on a small screen. If he is still happy it was a legit knockdown, he gives no signal/or a thumbs up to confirm it's legit. In this scenario, he'll give a hand signal overturning the knockdown due to it not being legit so the round would be 10 9 instead of 10 8, a lot like how FIFA used VAR in the World Cup
I can not argue you’re points which r as valid as the correct call
Call me old fashion , the same was said about the var replay in soccer , not sure if your a fan or not , but if you r then you noticed it during the World Cup
It didn’t take ten mins like in the NHL , but I do find it breaks the momentum and depending on the call a human will react differently
I’d rather we gotta live with the human error than going to replay
Just find it’s changes the game, this case the fight
But again the outside official will make the ref/judges/broadcasters aware in between that round or if need be the following round. A lot of these calls is easy to see in boxing compared to other sports where more judgment is involved.
Incorrect or contentious decisions allow for fantastic rematch opportunities and high publicity bringing in further revenue. If I a fight is that close or controversial.. no governing body, sanctioning body or promoter is going to vote for a system that allows further revenue to be userped by calling a winner a winner without controversy.
Boxing is a business .. and controversy breeds money
It might be a good idea to take a look at dodgy knockdowns in between rounds and then ask the judges to adjust their scorecards accordingly. I think this is the wrong sport to introduce in-play VAR to though, at least right now. It's not the kind of sport that really allows for lengthy interruptions in the action, with a couple of exceptions.
It shouldn't slow anything down since a neutral official will be over looking it and would relay it to the ref to let the judges/broadcasting crew know what really happened. The broadcasting crew is always able to catch it in between rounds and the official will have the same clips. Just makes too much sense for it to be implemented.

Would seem sensible. Two calls today on the uk card which were actuall accidental headbutts and to be fair to the refs, on both occasions , you only saw it after replays in slow mo from specific view point.
That said Whyte won comfortably so if it had been a draw , it would’ve made for a good rematch shout , but it would have been and injustice
I think it's a good idea. I remember in Pacquiao Barrera I when Pacquiao when down on a slip that was ruled a knockdown and thinking how illogical that it be scored 10-8 when the replay shows otherwise.
Remember Barrera vs JMM missed KD? Boxing is so outdated it ticks me off. At least have a replay system for these big cards.

I agree, they can check questionable calls between rounds and nothing slows down.
Or a second ref is watching on the video and can bring that **** to the refs attention between rounds.
I don't want the ref to check this in between rounds, I want an outside official to be overlooking this. They will have the same exact clips and angles that the broadcasting crew have. So they could relay it to the official before the round starts, or at worst in between the following round. This isn't like the NFL or NBA where it will slow the game down as everything will happen from an outside official.

Your right. It probably makes too much sense for it to be done in boxing.
Aslong as it doesn't slow anything down i say why not.
