So I'm heading into work, listening to Ferrall on the Bench (nationally syndicated sports radio show) and they're talking about how basically a firestorm has erupted due to the racial undertones of such a statement, that McGregor reportedly made at the presser today. I expected to log in to said firestorm.
But....I don't see sh*t on this. Am I just missing it?? Has it already been rehashed to death? Or was it even really said? I don't see sh*t on that but these dudes were on the radio going crazy on this alleged line from McGregor.
That the only published story on this site is Sr saying it isn't racist is telling.
Site produces so many stories on one sentence but for Connor, the only thing is a positive spin.
We are talking about two very intelligent men here.
Both trying to use everything they can to squeeze every last cent out of folks.
You think any of that was an accident or coincidence?
They both knew EXACTLY what they were doing...
How would anyone know what he was about to start saying? Its not like they have a "Conor" script that they can read from. Thats rubbish...
i don't know, that's what i read. maybe conor told someone or maybe he said something about that while they cut off his mic.
In between yawns, me and my community were so mad earlier it was like we almost thought the fight was interesting for a second and then we ended up going back to worrying about lead contamination.
The video of Connor talking was like 20 minutes, I dont think anyone here watched the entire thing start to finish. mayweather was sitting there looking bored out of his mind.
Go on and watch the whole thing and tell us if "it was even said". if you can last the whole time.
:lol1: Nah I'll pass
I heard it and yes, there are definitely racial undertones to it...or there owuld be if it was said by someone with more brains than Mcg. I highly doubt the irishman even has the basic historical understanding to know what he said. He simply said it because he saw Mayweather prancing around like a donkey.
I knew people would have an issue as soon as I heard him say that. Conor is Irish and I'm sure there was no racial connotation as if it was some white American dude.
"Some" people, like you said Conor is Irish so he probably doesn't even know or think close to what they might think it meant to him.

i read on twitter that they cut off his mic because he was about to start talking about floyd only KOing women when floyd said he was gonna KO mcgregor

Historically, in the US and South Africa, "boy" was not only a 'neutral' term for domestics but also as a disparaging term towards men of colour, implying their subservient status - the usage ran from the period of slavery through segregation and apartheid, though it became less acceptable and decreased as time passed.-Wikipedia on "boy"
For the last 1/2 century using "boy" in that context has been considered a derogatory slight on any man, of any colour. I've mostly seen white guys saying it to other white guys. It's just a way of saying "you're beneath me", "you're less than me".
I knew people would have an issue as soon as I heard him say that. Conor is Irish and I'm sure there was no racial connotation as if it was some white American dude.
ummmm......can any1 explain to me the racist underlying theme in "dance for me boy''? I might be in the lone here but I dont see anything remotely racist about that.

I can't stand seeing this triggered lefty rubbish! making everything into some kind of 'ist, I'm mixed black, that **** was not racist, he is passing comment on his opinion that Floyd dances instead of fighting, and calling him boy, well, these guys are about to punch each other in the head, get some fking context.
it's as annoying as commentators apologising for bad language in the corner of a fight, a FIGHT FFS! if you are so sensitive to a curse word, you ain't going to be tuning in at 11pm to watch 2 guys try knock fk out of one another. triggered fkin puzzys! gtfoh!
I'm all about calling out ignorance, especially on this board. This isn't one of those instances. They were trying to cut each other deep, anything goes in my eyes.
Yep pretty much
