OK... So I am not a lawyer, but can Manny sue The Mayweather camp for slander? Is he even a US Citizen? I don't know the full extent of his citizenship rights. I do remember seeing everytime I would read something from Floyd Sr. saying it was in his opinion that pac man was on roids... Manny is foolish he needs to get off of those barry bonds and start getting into the ring legitimately... I am a bit of a Manny fan, but he needs to dispell the rumors quick like. On another note... This fight needs to happen soon all the promo on this fight is bad publicity so far... Could be a scar for boxing.
I got to believe that most of the fans on this site have a box of tissue next to their computer and their mom in the room next door... I have met some cool people on this site, but god damn does anybody take themselves seriously?
this thread you have made has been done a million times before you have to learn how to just block it out and try to have discussions in threads with some of the posters who arent involved in those things you were complaining about. this site does have more then its share of huggers and morons but it also has some of the most knowledgeable die hard fans of boxing there is and also up to date news of whats going on in the boxing world you just have to take the good with the bad.
Thats why i chose this site is because it does have some serious and knowledgable fans, Plus the site is really user friendly. You are right though...
Depending on what you call exciting... I as a fan love to watch floyds subtle defense, but for a ufc style brawl manny is the best to watch for sure. Manny is a super star like hatton was when he was extremelly hyped... Manny is the best at what he does, but floyd to me is subtle and brings back the best parts of the game in my mind.
If we are going to say shane isn't in his prime can we ask who manny has fought as of recently who he hasn't had the stylistic advantage over or who wasn't past their primes? I appreciate what manny has done, but I do understand that he has had a stylistic advantage over a lot of the past fighters who were "The Best."
come on now, you act like Floyd is the same guy he was in 2000. You cant have it both ways. He still wasnt better P4P than Floyd was as a pure fighter and neither was Shane, even though they got more credit at the time. You act like people didnt feel like Oscar didnt get alot of gifts. People also felt that Shane had a horrible resume before Oscar and he started losing right after that fight so lets not act like these guys were unbeatable or that Floyd couldnt compete with them. Its all relative. People dont think they are the same but people also say that Floyd isnt nearly as good at WW as he was before the move up so dont people cant downplay Floyd and boost those guys up. Thats not fair
Was floyd ever a pure fighter? I thought he has always been a boxer first... And all the non sense about floyd's father thinking oscar won the fight is only because he was training and representing oscar during that fight, it would look bad for him to not think in a close fight that his fighter had done everything to win... Floyd clearly won the fight with oscar look at every stat that matters... I guess oscar had pushed the fight, but he didn't exactly do anything with floyd when he realized he couldn't win rounds... Isn't that why he abandoned his jab or was it the fact that oscar couldn't get his jab off on floyd's guard? I could be wrong someone tell me otherwise so that I know...
what can u not like about james toney in the ring? He is a beast or was a beast... much like roy jones he is gone and past his prime and needs to go away and open a gym... well toney can open a donut/steroid industry now, but u can't strip him of his accomplishment. He was one of the best for a good period of time... James Toney is still a beast in my book.
Wait... why in the **** would he fight shane again? He destroyed him... the mother ****er needs to be taking on Manny or P. Williams, anybody else is just simply not on the level. Margacheato= not good fight. Cotto= nothing to gain. It's pretty much got to be manny, Sergio or P Will in my mind.
lol. at least clottey wasn't exhausted until the last rounds, while mosley could have ko floyd if had just a stamina for 5 rounds but he gassed out after 2 rounds. lol. i can't blame mosley he can't do anything about his age.
____
It's hard to get exhausted when you aren't throwing your hands, don't ya think? Clottey was a joke in that fight...
People please stop insisting flloyd couldn't knock out JMM... Its not that he couldn't he wanted to prove a point with that fight - Being that he wanted to silence the critics about his ring rust and prove to manny pac man that he could do what he couldn't which is go toe to toe with JMM and dominate the whole ****ing night.
I honestly question if any of you saw that fight for a couple of reasons: He went the whole bout and got an easy decision without looking that tired, which proves one of two things - Marquez not trying, which is not even in my mind, because I know he was worn out and I know the kind of fighter Marquez is, or the fact that Mayweather wasn't trying that hard to knock him out because he knew his defense and left hook would be all he needed that night, besides his jab of course. He obviously wasn't trying that hard that night to knock him out, because if you saw flloyd he got tagged 2 times with strong blows from JMM and smiled, he obviously in my mind wanted to get some rounds in, take some punches (Which didn't happen) and give the people a show, besides he jogged out of the arena faster than his staff like he hadn't just went toe to toe with a good fighter.
To me margarito has one of the toughest chins as proven by the mosley fight where he was tagged all night with some hard punches and wasn't that stunned by them. Margarito was a cheater, but I have always said he can stand and take the other opponents best punches, that was equally his strength and his downfall - besides the whole plaster controversy.
Flloyd could knock him out in my mind, but stylistically I think flloyd would rely heavilly on not standing in the middle of the ring trading punch for punch with a guy who is one dimensional and stationary at that. A button punch could land margarito on his ass, but highly unlikely due to the strength of his chin. An easy decision for PBF in my mind.
yea but too bad Floyd ducked Mosley
Call me crazy but didn't floyd call him out earlier in his career and mosley came up with some BS like he wanted to go on vacation with his family?
For those who don't know Ward or his resume yet are about to be like, who the **** is this? Dude has got some extreme ring skills and his movement allows him to be in any fight after seeing what he did with kessler. His defensive transitions were some of the slickest and smoothest I have seen in awhile props to that dude. He took Kessler out of his jab no doubt. As for the rest of the tourney I have to think he is becoming more and more a lock for the whole SS tourney...
Floyd doesnt need to prove anything to anyone in my opinion. He has dominated all of his fights... Pac Man wants these big stages and all the money, so does mayweather... I predict this fight will happen within the next year and a half.
Personally I'd much rather watch mayweather and his technical aspect... He doesn't always have a swing first mentality and it is the subtle things in the way that he fights that make me excited to watch what he will do next. He takes the best fighters in the world out of their own style and makes them look silly.
They were really bad to watch... I picked up a smoking and drinking habbit in the time it took chavez to win... Pac man fight was amazing though... I wanna see someone make that mayweather fight happen!!!
I don't think it will be an easy fight, however mayweather with the big W... Manny can laugh at that when he is face down... Whos offensive style do you think is going to combat the others defense more?
Ok... Beyond the looming ticket sales on this matter, obviously Paul williams isn't a household name like Mayweather or Pac Man, but could he outbox them at a propper weight setting? I think he and his team should be calling out the top dogs, why not? Boxing is all about branding right now and to be honest it is getting kind of sickening. If all you guys care about is making these pampered stars richer then so be it, but I like seeing style match-ups and so far who has figured out Williams style... Not to say these guys couldn't do it because they are at the top of the boxing elite, but for christ sake give the young fella a chance to shine don't take out his legs from up under him. It's sad but in the boxing world today if you are an up and coming boxer you have to call people out to expose people to your name whether it works or not... Point in case mayweather has been calling people out for years and you guys love to hate on him based on his persona you people buy into, but you still watch his fights anyways and make his wallet fatter just to see someone possibly take him out. Well how the hell is Williams to be recognized world wide without calling out a big name? Something is a bit wrong in the boxing world today... Peace.
I love how you can measure heart... I guess rocky is a good example right? Isn't heart in itself as a term a conditional thing that maybe as an example but not limited to... rising to the occasion in a bout? I mean can you be a great fighter and only fight with heart, lol. Shit is laughable to me... But go on I want to see the posts.
I often have to remind what the word racism means in a historical context on this site... Racism isn't exclusive to manny pac man... I'm sorry historically he isn't popular enough to fit the bill. On a small scale take the word race out of it and he is being hated on for his ability and the fact he makes silly decisions and comments every once in awhile, but it's not like a whole race is being hated on because of this one particular guy... the word you are searching for is much different.
Do people think AA was ahead on the cards prior to this? I am just saying it was the 11th round. Dirrell was obvious tired as **** and then when he slips and gets punched with any kind of hit from Abraham which looked more like a slap in my book if he didn't see it coming it most certainly could of put him out. To think it was acting is crazy in my book... the guy was ahead!!! He out boxed AA by far why would he take an easy way out? I will say it was extremelly unfortunate that it had to end that way for AA, because I felt if it werent for the knock out portion he would have only been docked a point for an illegal shot, not DQ'ed... I don't think AA would have won in any realm though.
The klitschko brothers I believe could hold their own against any all time great heavy weight... They take care of themselves and never get out of shape. Plus they know not only how to use their tremendous size, but they actually know how to box really good for someone of their sizes. To me I'd like to see how they get past foreman and louis... ali to me would be able to combat the jab of the brothers, but wouldn't have an answer for their straight right or followed up left hook... Thats why they are animals... they don't just have jabs. Once you spend a whole round trying to get through the jab for a quick punch they hit you with a power shot. They are a tough night for anyone is all im saying.
By the way Lennox already fought vitali and to my recolection was down on the cards before they stopped the fight due to one of the worst cuts I have ever seen in boxing.
I got the brothers in any particular fight in this decade by UD... they don't have the power anymore... I don't look at the chambers fight as legitimate power because he was a punching bag nothing more. anyone that thinks haye has a better chance based on speed needs to watch more tape on chambers hands speed and look at what the jab did to him in his last fight. Chambers has great hand speed but was reduced to nothing when he realized there was no getting past the jab. That jab is a power punch by the way.
Anybody consider he could have gone to the hospital for something completelly unrelated to that one particular punch? He did get punched in the balls for one. He is old and could have been sore as hell. I mean he could have been dehydrated as hell... The list goes on. I'm not making excuses for him or Roy... point blank that was an embaressing fight. B.Hop acted like a bitch and Roy decided to pull a clottey and leave his hands holding air all night. Seriously I would have almost respected him more had he gone out there swung for the fences and gotten knocked out. This shit was disgraceful. Roy Jones of old jumped all over him...
