Does Taylor have a chance to beat Ward?

I'd say the only fights that are winnable are this and a Dirrell fight because neither are hard hitting pressure fighters. It's not to say hes the favorurite but IMO if he's going to win a fght in this tourny it'll be against either Andre. Your thoughts? Of course, well have 2 superior atheletes competing in the same ring. He should cope with Wards tactics better than Miranda/Kessler.

Ward's KO rate isn't that high, he needs to box from the outside - if he does he could probably out point him.

Yes he does, his jab is what mantained Hopkins at bay and he can do the same to Ward, but I can see Ward outboxing him because he has excellent skills.

I kind of feel like the Abraham fight was his last chance to prove himself. I mean he revamped his training, did everything he was supposed to, and still got KO'ed. How can he have any confidence left? Ward on the other hand is glowing with confidence and as he says "it's his time". It if does happen it could be a descent match, I don't think Taylor would get blown out but I wouldn't pick him at this point. I could see Ward's left hook off of the right hand finding a home as it did against Kessler since Taylor likes to pull back with with gloves up and Abraham was going around the gloves with his hook and often landed.

I think Taylor had the hardest draw of the tournament and might possibly go 0-3 vs Abraham, Ward and Kessler. But yes, he does have a chance against Ward. If he stays in and if he fights the right fight.

Taylor had what it took to beat Ward but after this last KO loss, I dont think he has the confidence, mental focus or killer instinct required to win against Ward.

I rooted for Taylor too much. He better hang up them gloves soon before he wont even know who the hell he is anymore. Hell no he doesnt have a chance with anyone in the tournament. Both Andre's beat his ass. Did you not see how stiff ya boy was when Abe landed that punch. You could of pulled out some wrinkley shirt and ironed it on his face. Thats how stiff he was. Hang it up.

its all about styles make fights therefore i think he can still give ward trouble although i see S.O.G winning a close but clear decision

Taylor can't even beat straight ahead brawlers. He really lost both times against Hopkins, and that was when he was in his non-diminished state. And then we have the Cory Spinks fight. That style was the last time he fought anybody close to what he'll be having to deal with in Andre Ward, and he looked like shit in that fight even though he deserved the win.

he has virtually no chance. ward will beat him up like hopkins did the last 6 rounds of both their fights cept from round 1. taylor could never handle that in his prime how is he gonna handle it now.

For those who don't know Ward or his resume yet are about to be like, who the **** is this? Dude has got some extreme ring skills and his movement allows him to be in any fight after seeing what he did with kessler. His defensive transitions were some of the slickest and smoothest I have seen in awhile props to that dude. He took Kessler out of his jab no doubt. As for the rest of the tourney I have to think he is becoming more and more a lock for the whole SS tourney...

Taylor lost his punch resistance imo. Even light hitters are dangerous. He better step out. Ward can put some hurt on him too. There's no evidence to suggest that Taylor's lost his punch resistance or that he can be hurt by light punchers (not that Ward is a light puncher). When was the last time he fought a light puncher? Spinks in 07? Since then he's fought Pavlik, Lacy, Froch, and Abraham, who are some of the most devastating punchers from 160-168. And he's gone rounds with all of them before getting KO'd (by all but Lacy), taking their shots pretty well for the most part. I think Ward is dangerous for him though, because of his speed and his ability to set up his shots. Taylor will get hit with punches he doesn't see coming.

I always liked Taylor, still do, but he isn't going very far in this tourney. Ward's going to ko him for sure. In fact I got Ward taking the tourney. His only real tough fight will be AA. If he can get past him, he's got it. AA has a hard shell of a defence, and when he comes out, it's all fast power, then back in his shell. He's get a great style, but Ward is like a combo of Manny and Cotto. He's all over the place, he's fast, powerful, smart, awesome lateral movement. AA is pretty stationary, but inpenatrable defence, and he hits hard...really hard. He also has a great chin. And he's pretty dam fast. So, no...Taylor doesn't stand a chance with Ward.
