Wow. Loooking at that Mitchell fight, you can see how much he has filled out. He looked pretty slim then compared to now.
yep. I mean its strange how floyd retired exactly when he should've fought margo, cotto, and mosley. instead he waited for them all to bash each other's brains out, and then he made his comeback.
strange indeed.
Smart! There was no way he could've went through all them fighters and satisfied everyone and be healthy. Cotto is a prime example of why you shouldn't fight too many tough fights in succession. Floyd let them knock each other off and let the media build up one great fighter for him to comeback and knock off, only to retire again. You might not like it but it was absolutely the smartest move to make.
I think Pac will only fight Margo if the PBF fight can't be made for November. Pac vs Floyd is still the first choice over Margo.
I hope that if the Floyd fight can't get made, Pac will fight at 140 instead. Maybe the winner of Bradley vs Alexander if they can get that fight made.
The Margo fight is pretty meaningless.
Not for Arum. $$$
Not sure how long you've been watching boxing but the overhand right is Mosley's best punch and always has been. Cotto on the other hand doesn't even have a decent right hand which is why Roach and Pacquiao didn't mind fighting him. Cotto's best punch is his left hook to the body which i haven't seen from him in ages. If he landed that right hand against Floyd, it wouldn't have had the same affect but i doubt Cotto would have landed it in the first place. He doesn't loop his punches like SSM and is shorter than Floyd.
Is this a serious question? There are a lot of rocket scientist in here i see. Hypothetically, the fight comes off and Pacquiao wins and comes up dirty after the fight? What good does that do for Floyd? He just lost his perfect record to an unclean fighter and he cant get his perfect record back and whatever damage that occurred can't be taken away. In addition, his profitability as a fighter would take a severe hit as well.
Great hype but another flat footed fighter that fits floyd's style. Another great win for floyd with 8 to 1 odds.
If you feel this way about this fight, please tell me you've felt that same way about Pacquiao's last 4?
Ali was worse, but the difference is he said that **** leading up to a fight. Not while on vacation and ducking and hiding from fights and saying **** on the internet.
I'm a fan of Floyd as a boxer but the difference between him and Ali is quite simple and can be summed up in one word..."Charisma". Ali oozed charisma and had a way with words and the way he said them. Floyd just rants and comes off as upset or just obnoxious. Ali in some ways said worse things but he said it in a way that made people laugh, regardless if they agreed with what was said or not. Some have it, some don't but there aren't many charismatic athletes.
i think roach and arum are smart enough to know that pac would annihilated by floyd hence try to avoid him and feed pac with bums.:boxing:
Who the fcuk is that in your sig and avatar and where can i find her?
He's not that cool.
I thought Mosley stole the show.
Mayweather was a punk bitch as usual. And that random drug testing is a bunch of horseshit.
There is no room for that in boxing.
Says the guy that has the sig of a guy punching the chick in the face. Whatever man
floyd is scared shitless and won't sign the contract.
I admit that floyd is a great defensive fighter, but he doesn't let his hands to enough and he will get outworked...
If boxing were only that simple. Floyd has an ability to make fighters fight at his tempo. After Pacquiao gets caught with some clean counters he don't see coming, he will not be rushing in there with reckless abandon. At that point, he will become frustrated and continue to be broken down. Floyd knows how to use the ring better than any other fighter alive and will cut Pacquaios workrate significanty if they fight. Bet on that.
i agree..........numbers dont lie.................Shane was 38 years old when floyd finally cant weasel his way out of senior............citizen.........shane:nonono:
If Shane didn't make that excuse, why are you?
From 2005, some time after the first Morales fight
I thought they said they agreed to a one week cutoff? Floyd wanted testing up until the fight. The saga continues.
With all of Floyd's legal issues outside of the ring, they should know damn well he is not in a position to agree to a fight other than the court battles in front of him. Clever move Manny.
At least we really know why his team stayed away from Ward. GGG can't fight off the back foot for **** and he's not good at countering. They may even match him more carefully from here on out.
That's why Kovalev is higher P4P and deserves it. People who know boxing know he's the real deal. Ward is also much harder to look good against for any style.
Absolutely!
You idiots need to take the blinders off.
GGG won that fight.
The issue is that you all expected GGG to dominate. Because he didn't dominate you automatically think Jacobs is winning, you're idiocy couldn't comprehend that there is a gap between the two.
Calling everyone idiots is a great way to start a conversation lol. GGG looked basic, slow and confused. The multiple looks Jacobs kept giving him stiffled good offense plus Jacobs did a masterful job of smothering and landing combinations to the body while pushing GGG back.
The first real opponent he fought, he failed.
LOL, white people are so pathetic! When Ward schooled Kovalev you cried robbery and now when Jacobs get robbed while schooling Golovkin, you're cool with it!? Get real, man! Jacobs clearly won.
The thing is, many will never admit that's the underlying factor in their reasoning and the game continues.
