After Mayweather fought Shane Mosley it is highly doubtful he will duck Manny, and for boxing fans sake, make it happen. The fight is expected to be in November and Manny has suggested it’ll be his final fight. If it is then a win would secure him a legend, while Mayweather insists he wants to clear out the Welterweight division before he retires. I don't understand why Floyd thinks he's bigger than the sport of boxing. Who is he to tell other fighters what to do? When it comes to boxing, he's just another fighter, who people pay to see. He needs to man up and face Pacquiao. Let the commision handle everything else.

even if Pac agrees but Floyd gets convicted, we still would not have a fight..... There are no legit Opponents left for Pac. We don't need to see him fight anymore, his legacy is secure. By making a statement like this, he can kill two birds with one stone. If floyd accepts great, if not.. retire p4p best with an amazing career. I disagree, Pac fights are always exciting (except Clottey) and I'd like to see as many Pac fights as possible. There are plenty of good matchups to be had if Pac/May never materializes over the next 3 years: I'd say JMM3 first (if he gets past Katsidis), Moseley, Martinez, Bradley, Alexander and mebbe Khan. Perhaps PWill if he recovers.. 3 years is a long time so who knows who else might emerge. Arum has exhausted all his top rank options so I view all these guys as legit challenges, certainly good enough matchups to support a ppv. Boxing needs a strong draw and Pac is the guy of the moment, plus he's active in taking fights and entertaining (in the ring). He's reached the pinnacle of the sport and needs to rake in everything that comes with it for as long as he can so long as his health isnt at stake. If Pac's popularity declines and his ppvs drop below an acceptable amount then I might change my mind, but as long as he's pulling in 1M+ he oughta keep at it. Besides, he does have some unfinished business with JMM and does need to add some African american fighters with a slick style to his resume. Sad because there really werent too many boxers that fit that criteria when he was active in the weight classes in question.

I thought Pacquiao and Co. would be smart enough to know to NOT give someone as arrogant like Floyd somesort of deadline. Just like when they did earlier this year and just like Floyd did to Pac with the OST, when either one "orders" or "demands" something of the other, then it makes the other look weaker. The battle of these two egos have been much more exciting than either fighters' last couple of fights.

At this point, who cares what Floyd does? He's quickly becoming irrelevant imo. Boxing will go on with or without him. As a Pacfan, I'm actually more interested in a future bout with Sergio Martinez. Pac retiring doesnt make any sense, unless you dislike him and want him out of the sport. He says he has 3 years left so there are alot of good fights that can be made. Even if he doesnt have anything left to prove, just watching a great one perform in his prime is reason enough to keep tuning in.
