I have it 113-113. Terrible commentary. Went with the usual British **** of deciding on a narrative after 4 rounds and sticking to it for the whole fight. They gave Hunter no credit for dominating the final rounds.
116-112 Mayweather
And thats with giving Pac every possible round I could because I was hoping he would make it a fight. If I were to watch it again with a clear mind it would probably be 118-110. I dont see how anyone could get a closer fight than 116-112, Mayweather won so many clean rounds.
Maidana went to war. The only way to get close to beating Floyd is to come in and accept getting hit and maybe KO'd. You have to fight through his counter shots and let your hands go. Manny didn't have the same heart. He showed too much respect and fought a stupid fight. Maidana gets so much respect from me as he has been one of the few fighters to go in vs Mayweather and put himself on the line.
I agree that Manny should have went out on his shield but I'm sure Mayweather's punches stinged him a lot more than they did to Maidana.
Very true but regardless of Maidana's weight he proved himself that night. When your getting hit flush with straight rights on the way in its very easy to react, back off and reset looking for another way to approach which is what Manny did all night. Maidana just said **** it and walked him down. He did everything you could of expected from him in that first fight. Brawling, dirtyness, wide punches, awkward stance. You could sense that he was there to win and was giving it everthing.
I feel Manny let himself down. He left something in the ring. At the end of the fight he's almost completely unmarked and I'm left thinking was that all he could give? I mean throwing less than Mayweather? There is no way you can possibly win if your throwing less than an amazingly gifted defensive fighter who also happens to have an extremely high punches landed %. That cant have been Roach's gameplan. I think Manny got stuck in a bad rhythm and couldn't adapt. There were a few rounds where just a few flurries could have swung it in his favor. I was screaming for him to do something.
Forget gameplan. Maidana had the right MINDSET to beat Floyd. He had no respect, never touched gloves with him, did a few dirty tactics and took some shots to rough him up.
Exactly. Pac needed this mindset but he just doesn't have it anymore. Politics, religion and the Marquez KO have robbed him of his boxers heart. He was content just to be in the ring with Floyd and was smiling and **** on his way back to the corner even after being completely outboxed in the first few rounds.
"May 6, 2007 - Mayweather was favored on one scorecard 116-112 and 115-113 on a second. De La Hoya was ahead 115-113 on the third scorecard."
Like I said, had Oscar thrown his jab more later in the fight, he would have won a split decision.

Its Oscar though he always hits the stamina wall.
Khan gives him trouble for 3 rounds and then gets KO'd
Brook not good enough
Cotto, boring fight. Dont see anything changing from the 1st.
Lara, not happening.
I'm almost positive it will be Danny Garcia or Cotto. I'm leaning towards Garcia because if its Floyds final fight then he will want an easy night. Garcia wont win a round against him.
Really disappointed with Luke. Looked one dimensional in there. Throws a few punches and retreats, nothing else from him. Mendy looked stronger, pushed him back and hit him with far cleaner punches. I'm amazed this kid has so much hype and yet he looks so basic. He probably looks okay against punching bag opponents with his hand speed and combinations but that's all he has. Once Mendy took up the high guard he couldn't hit him for ****.
Nice decision though. Not very often do you see a hyped prospect lose out on a fight like that, fair play to the judges.
Calzaghe can be compared to him. Never defeated and arguably fought opposition equal to May's resume.
Anyone can be beaten and I still believe Hatton had the best chance of beating May. Now that he's been dispatched it's hard to see him losing. I think Mosley would give him a good fight and Margarito would be VERY difficult but other than that, not many out there will touch him.
His career is a shame in some respects as in my opinion he could of been 1 of the best ever. There's still time for that but he needs to beat welters
It's the best fight to make at the moment and could be 1 of Floyd's "legacy" fights. I'm sorry but beating a lightweight and Ricky Hatton dont mean shit. Your in a stacked welter division so fight the best there. Mosley, Cotto, Marg and even Clottey can all be beaten by Mayweather but will he have the balls to take the fights?
If the fight does happen however, I think Floyd can win by a tight UD. But that depends on his chin and how he can take Mosley's punches. He will get hit in this fight as Mosley is 500% faster than JMM.
JMM takes first 2/3 rounds, Floyd finds his range and picks him off for the rest of the fight. Can see a round 9+ stoppage for Floyd if he wants it, depends on whether he's willing to take the risk and move in for the kill.
He a great fighter skill wise. Sadly his lack of balls will destroy most of his legacy. he had the potential to be one of the best fighters ever imo but avoiding most of the welterweights out of a stacked division will hurt him.
I still believe Judah would of whooped him if he didnt get them 2 low blows. Anyway, I hope he dont bring that shit but who knows? If Pac hurts him then I'm sure he'll get in a sneaky low blow.
Would be a great fight. JMM wins 12 rounds but nas has the power to knock him on his ass. If JMM plays smart and sticks to defense then he wins. If he starts trading its lights out
And that my friend is where Mosely will **** up at... he can fight clottey which he might win but wont look good doin it.. nobody looks good doin it.. Clottey is a beast contrary to popular belief... He will get nothing out of fighting Clottey.. He has to give up a little bit more money to get the fight with Berto but in the long run he will have all the Quality belts, and the road to Welterweight champ will be through him so they dont have a choice but to give him his due payday..
Yeah I agree. Berto is the perfect fight for Shane. Very winnable fight, he will look good fighting Berto and he gets to unify the belts. I'm just not sure Berto's promoters want him stepping up just yet. However if Berto could sneak a win then it would do wonders for his career which is falling away after he got beat by an old man(unofficially)
Then if Shane has the belts, is ranked number 1 then surely he can get a big fight. If he still doesn't then boxing is in a worse state than I thought.
