Joshua said his fight in September against Gary Cornish is the perfect set up to fight Whyte later in the year. As we know Whyte knocked Joshua down and beat him in the amateurs in Whyte's first ever fight. Both are untested really so far in the pro game but I'd say joshua has been more impressive. So who you got if these 2 ever get it on?
I became aj fan last night. Haters need to chill out, this guy is the future of the division
Agreed. I was just as impressed with his ability to weather an early storm! Joshua showed great power, chin and resilience. As well as the fact Whyte showed skill, determination, and one hell of a chin. Whyte was knocked multiple times and kept moving!!!
Personally unlike some, I was impressed with Joshua's ability to adjust. Too many people ofcourse claiming exposure but no one is talking about the fact Whyte was as impressive , showed great chin and resilience.
I found both Joshua and Whyte using great body work and chins. Whyte clipped Joshua quite a few times and Joshua weathered the storm just right. No one is invincible and the concept of a boxer getting hurt; all of a sudden he is exposed. Joshua showed class, great resilience, and showed his power lasts through 6, even after being hit to the body and stunned early!
Whyte is really unsportsmanlike, and a bad loser.
Thats a real shame...he diminished so much of what he accomplished with his effort when he chose that route.
I agree.
He's a guy with 15 fights, people need to keep that in mind. Haye is the worst style for him, quick, counters and power, but he's not ready for that.
Prime Haye is accurate and explosive, I think he could beat Joshua.
Joshua did well to come through that last night, but to me it looked like he does panic a bit when he gets hit. He freezes and stiffness up.
Whyte actually impressed me, he's tough and fearless.
That was a real heavyweight fight, I bet Jonathon Banks wishes he could get that much fight out of Wlad Klitschko. Joshua looks like a future king to me. His fight with Fury could be amazing, it could potentially be the biggest moment of vindication for the British boxing scene, which is looking very promising. The 0-2 looked electric and I’m hard pressed to think of a place in the world where this level of a card gets a better audience.
With that being said, I really cannot see how we can extrapolate a victory over Whyte to being able to beat Tyson Fury or Deontay Wilder. There’s no need to rush him, he clearly needs a bit more experience before stepping up to a world class level.
Jousha gassed a bit first, but Dillian went from 100 to 0 real quick.
All that fat was bound to work against him, needs to improve his fitness.
Jousha needs to work on his jab, a guy that big should not be gettin out jabbed by smaller man
He didn't gas. DW is one hellacious body puncher.
I bought the PPV, but it was for the Eubank fight.
The rest of the card being so good made it a decent decision. Still shouldn't have been PPV, but it was value for money in the end.
To be fair, and ive moaned about this being PPV for months, this ended up being a cracking night of fights.
Ha, me too. I b*tched and moaned for ages, swore I wouldn't buy it, then eventually folded and bought it this evening. Really I glad I did, belting night's entertainment.
Headline fight was a barnstormer, everyone getting on AJ's back need to calm down, it was a tough learning fight and will prove invaluable as he goes forward.
ideally yeah it would be teper for the european title then fight fury for the world title with a thompson/takam before or inbetween.
no chance tho, look to see hearn put AJ in with maurice harris next :lol1:
He should defend his British title against Chisora, then go after Teper/Helenius in May.
I think Del Boy gets his ass whupped. I would rather Joshua vs. Teper/Fedosov/Mansour/Helenius but given the fact that AJ only has 15 bouts, it wouldn't hurt to have Chisora on his resume.

yeah saunderland getting his name out there.
It seems like it's forever been chisora ' getting back on track ' doesn't it ?
he's done imo, he told his mum he would ' give it one last big go ' in boxing and that was about 5 fights ago.
do you really think chisora would put up an effort equal/better than whyte did?
whyte is basically chisora + heart.

Del Boy fought 4 times this year (against nobodies), seems like he's trying to get his career back on track.

Joshua was stiff as a corpse in there. Only thing working for him was his size.
I wonder why he is ranked so high in the WBC?
He is young but he should carefully choose his fight. He should have fights like these more often where he can learn so much.
Fighting name opponents like Kevin Johnson who isnt going to fight back would just deter his development as a boxer.
As for Whyte, I'd like to see him lose some fat and improve his cardio. Then have Banks improve his punching technique.
I still would like to see a rematch in the future but depending on how there fare in their next fights.
