Floyd vows to bring excitement

By David Hudson Floyd “Money” Mayweather expressed confidence in his ability to keep his undefeated record and lustrous legacy intact when he squares off against the dangerous and fellow pound-for-pound great Juan Manuel Marquez on September 19th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. “I bring excitement and flash back to the sport of boxing and I honestly believe I will do that on September 19th,” he said. “It is really important for me to do well and dominate.” Mayweather insists the long layoff will not cause him any problems with ring rust, saying that it gave him a needed break, time to heal and that he grew “stronger as a person mentally.” He deftly parried questions about separate, out-of-the-ring controversies involving him and his trainer-uncle Roger Mayweather, saying: “I just focus on positive things; we don’t focus on the negative.” He also refused to commit himself to an eventual showdown with Manny Pacquaio: “All roads lead to Floyd Mayweather, I don’t have to chase any fighter.”
