He got hit right on the temple, and Haye is a much better fighter than he was back then. Wlad is also better than when he got stopped by a journeyman called Purity, Cotto is also better than when he got rocked by Torres/Corley. It happens to every fighter, BTW Haye had to lose 15 lbs on muscle, He will perform much better at Heavyweight where is isn't weight drained just like Cotto was at 140. Weight drainage affects Stamina big time, especially if your losing muscle weight, not fat.
I was thinking the same, i mean haye looks like a really small guy in that fight, that fight seems ancient, he was young and still inexperieneced, just like when he lost against thompson..but him getting rocked by this guy doesnt equate 2 him not being able 2 handle heavyweights....pacquiao got knocked out at flyweight (correct me if i'm wrong bout the weight), cotto got rocked more times at L-Welter than he ever has a welter, winky got fucked up by julio cesar vasquez, hopkins lost his 1st ever fight, hatton got rocked by thaxton....ur dumb if u think most boxers don't learn from early mistakes...haye's defence isnt great but he's way better than he was at that point..come on son how we gonna talk about the past and not talk about the days when wlad was dr. limpwrist
Witter-Hatton (Still Possible but won't happen)
Pavlik-Eubank
Pavlik-Ben
Eubank-Hopkins
Jones-Pavlik
Winky - Jones
Winky - DLH
Winky - Mayweather (Weight may b an issue but would be good)
Ali - Tyson
Tyson - Frazier
Hearns - Tito
Duran - Cotto
Mayweather - Leonard
i would say taylor is a better boxer, froch is strong but i havent seen froch fight anyone half decent, or even someone who had the slightest chance of beating him, i'm going wit taylor...maybe if froch thought some decent opponents i could judge more but to be honest apart from calzaghe their hasn't been and aren't many decent fighters at super middle.
I think mentally he didn't quit because he isnt that kind of guy, but he was physically tired and had nowhere else 2 go, i think he was exhausted and knew that margz was jus gonna keep on comin no matter what he did..so i wouldn't say he quit because he wanted 2 continue, his corner threw in the towel, he was just mentally and physically tired
I Dunno how you have come to that conclusion, considering you have never see cotto fight, u see him take a beating from rounds 7-11 and say it was the best thing that could have happened to him? because he looked like a warrior? if anything margarito looked like a warrior because he had to wear down an unbeaten fighter and take blows to the face constantly, showing no fear and no sign of being in pain.
Are u sure u aint got cotto confused with margarito and vice versa?
I aint gonna nuthug margz like all his new fans, i wanted him 2 win and he did impressively
you can't judge how the fight would go based on that fight cus i think mayweather would beat cotto as well, jus wouldn't knock him out. but i don't think floyd would be able to withstand the constant pressure margz brings..he's not like hatton where he jus comes forward swing wild left hooks.
regardless of what would happen...floyd wud never fight margz...if he turned down 8mil back in the day wen margz was less known and instead fought baldimoir (pardon spellin), do you really think he would come out of retirement to fight him now, after seeing what he done to some as strong as cotto. its way too risky and he would never want to lose his magic "0"
i would say at the moment lightweight, it seems to be more open and have less onesided fights..with the welterweight division cotto, margarito and williams are the top 3 and i can't see any of the fighters below catching them for the time being
This is making little sense...is the TS trying to make it seem like he was ducking williams? because he took the fight regardless..plus the only reason the fight wasn't his 1st choice was because it was either fight williams or finally fight cotto
and he took the fight, he would rather defend against sum1 as dangerous as williams and not lose his belt than take a bigger money fight against a bigger name. doesn't that show he aint ducking williams at all cus he had good and valid reason not to fight williams and still did
u all need to stop listening to the hbo biased commentators and watch the fight on mute
its really a sight watching a bloody fighter retreating while the other keeps backing him up against the ropes
i can understand the judges scoring i had it 96-94 for margarito as well[/QUOT
I DO AGREE WITH THAT, CUS WHEN I 1ST WATCHED IT ON SETANTA THEY HAD A DIFFERENT SET OF AMERICAN COMMENTATORS BUT THEN I DOWNLOADED IT AND THEY USUAL HBO COMMENTATORS WHERE ON KELLERMAN ET AL AND THEY DID MAKE IT SEEM LIKE COTTO WAS ALL OVER MARGARITO UNTIL THE 11TH. THE COMMENTATORS CAN SWAY U ALOT IF YOU TAKE IN WHAT THEY SAY TOO MUCH.
I CAN SEE WHY THE JUDGES HAD MARGARITO UP..SUM JUDGES LIKE SEEING THE FIGHTER PRESS THE FIGHT AND AWARD THE FIGHTER WHO CONTROLS HOW THE FIGHT GOES WHICH WAS MARGARITO...
PERSONALLY I HAD IT AS A DRAW NOT INCLUDING THE 11TH
I think he should retire because beatin joe will almost nulify his losses to tarver and johnson because he would be beating one of the top p4p right now..but i can't see him retiring if he wins because temptation will be too much for him...he could beat samuel peter with relative ease and i think he knows that, there's too many options there 4 him..the johnson or tarver rematch may lure him..especially if one of them calls out his name
Oscar would say that considering he's been in the ring with mosley, trinidad, mayorga, B-hop and other naturally bigger guys than floyd. so in comparison he has no power, but ask a normal welter or a L.welter if he has power and they will tell you a different story. He isnt a knockout master and his main attribute isn't his power but he has enough to cause damage, if he didnt have power he wouldn't have been able to even knock down hatton let alone TKO him, even if hatton was off balance
Haye was in negotiations with wlad but handed the dealings over 2 richard schafer of golden boy bcus he cudnt make the deal happen and didnt want 2 make it look like he was da one makin outrageous demands an stoppin the fight...fair enough he wants the fight but he isnt gonna accept any random offer put on the table..
I called this a week ago. Without a Klitschko in the ring nobody cares to see Haye fight except for a few British fanboys.
This is Haye's retirement fight, good riddance to bad rubbish.
U cannot start a thread with such an intellectually circumsized statement my friend...it is obvious people are interested in him because so many ppl have threads directed 2 his progress...either at cruiserweight ppl were interested...u may not have been interested but tht doesnt mean everyone else follows suit...for instance..if haye fought chris arreola...wud u not watch the fight?? if haye fought...sam peter...wud u not b curious enough 2 watch the fight??...i think u wud...cus it is obvious ppl are interested in haye..even americans...bcus every heavyweight is sayin they will defeat the klitschko's..but we are all waitin to see wot haye is gonna do bcus he has caught the attention of much of the masses, even if he didnt fight klitschko, we wud all watch his next fight...tut tut fan boi...
No honey, you got that wrong. It is actually Wlad and Vitali, who are
good looking , and charismatic. The only true thing you said about
your boy Haye, is that he has a big mouth. There are plenty of David
Hayes out and about. The Klits are unique, there is no one else like
them. David Haye's a 10 a penny.
TE HE HE...U CALL DEM "THE KLITS"....
but nah ur jokin right...u put haye in front of a camera and ur getin good tv...his charisma is serious..plus his big mouth is entertainin...honestly him and his big mouth have made the HW division worth payin attention 2..everyone else seems 2 say "he is a good fighter, but i will win" in a monotone robotic voice
I would watch him fight Arreola just to see him get knocked out by a fat overrated Mexican. That would really show everyone how far away from Klitschko's level that Haye is.
BUT U WUD WATCH THE FIGHT RIGHT:boxing:????? SO U ARE INTERESTED IN WHAT HE DOES...AWWWW I KNEW U HAD SUM COMPASSION DEEP DOWN FAN BOI
Beating those two bums doens't mean jack shit. Gomez has been at the weight for longer than Haye. He's no worthier than Haye is.
U tlkin 2 me soundboi???? my point was, not tht it wud prove anythin...but tht ppl arent merely interestin in haye bcus he may fight klitschko...ppl like haye cus he is excitin and charismatic in everythin he does..he's da only heavyweight he has a good media personality

Tarver's wife. Sorry can't find a better pic.
Ah kk i see what them hype is about...thm sum nice lips..she's got nice skin...she wud get it:hitit:
Zab Judah - everything
people say he's the fastest fighter in boxing
people say he has one-punch KO power
they say he has great footwork and defensive skill
some even call him the most athletically gifted fighter out there
all of these suggestions are laughable
At one point these had elements of truth to them...like wen he fought mayweather he was just as fast if not faster than mayweather but just let himself go and was terribly conditioned...he was his own worst enemy because he has potential but never did enough to discover his tru greatness and match the statements made
Higher Quality Opposition. And Better Quality Wins I Would Say...the Way He Finishes His Opponents And To A Degree The Way He Fights..also There Hasnt Been A Question As To Whether Pacman's Opposition Were Past It...he Fought Marquez Twice, Barrera Twice, Morales 3 Times..all While Still Worthy Opponents..calzaghe Has A Flawless Record And Warrants Number 2 But He Best Wins Were Against Older Versions Of Eubank, hopkins And Jones
i think calazaghe can hit hard its jus dat in that fight he couldn't land a clean punch at all..winky is incredibly accurate and has better technique than joe..i found that strength stems from technique and accuracy... joe can throw twice as many punches as winky or b-hop but mainly lands 2 the side of the head and gloves..
bernard is starting to get something from me
DITTO.....before i used 2 jus wait for him to lose but i appreciate his skill and admire his desire at tht age 2 wanna still box and box well:boxing:
As a fan of mma and sum1 who will be watchin the fight i would say that it isn't a hagler hearns in terms of the stature of the fight to the world but it is that kinda fight in the mma world...this fight is going to be brutal and entertaining to watch with either guy standing a chance of winning if their game plans are well executed. The ufc primetime show is near enough the same as the 24/7 show in terms of how it is put together and edited, the only big difference is that with the 24/7 shows u had bigger stars so it seemed more entertaining to the average fan but ive watched every 24/7 made and i'm currently watching the ufc primetime show and i think they are both well put together and informative. Gsp penn is a huge fight for the mma world and is the type of fight that you should watch even if you're an average fan or haven't watched an mma ppv b4...i love boxing and mma and the two can co-exist, and jus like low blow armo said all they are doing is using established ideas to their benefit, boxing should do the same bcus the gsp penn ppv will not jus be a good fight, but will be a gr8 ppv card with a gr8 main event and rly good undercard...if anything boxing should take note bcus ive seen rly good main events in boxing recently but they have all had terrible undercards, case in point pacman vs dlh.
Dana is an ass but he's good and gettin ppl talkin...he's like vince in the wwe...except he's actin while dana is all real when he's actin like an ass...hagler hearns had so much fireworks for less thn 9 minutes of boxing...gsp penn wont be nowhere near as epic as that fight but it will be very entertaining no doubt...i think the more explosive fight in terms of action on the card will be machida vs silva...but nevertheless dana talks alot of shit...and here is no exception
penn is superior to gsp.
an out of shape penn schooled gsp.
it wasn't til penn injured his ribs that gsp turned things around.
OOOOOHHH DAMMNNN u jus lost sum stripes with tht comment...sounds like ur gettin this fight confused with wen penn fought matt hughes..because nothin happened 2 penn's ribs at all in this fight...clearly he dominated the 1st round but got out wrestled and out done in the 2nd and 3rd...tut tut tut
and don't be fooled...penn is always in gr8 shape...he jus LOOKS like he ate 2 many krispy kremes after the weigh in...his physical conditioning isn't reflected in his physique
Didn't I just say AFTER the first round. After is the opposite of before. Go squeeze one off homie. :wank:
All over yo momma's chin homie
anyways i dont think the 1st fight was boring..obviously round one was sick as hell but and rounds two and three although werent as intense as the 1st, were still entertaining. because of the nature of the fight and the fact tht it can go either way like bisexuals intruiges most fans..even casual fans who kno very little
