What type of opposition where a lot of these fighters you guys are comparing Rigo against facing when they were 7, 9 or 12 fights into their careers?
Don't worry I'll wait. The only one that faced good opposition so early was Lomachenko and he got beat up by Salido. People pretend like Lomachenko is undefeated, he's already tasted defeat in the pros.
Floyd, Manny, Rigo, Ward, and Roman Gonzalez are the best five fighters in the world I think.
After that it's more debatable, but Bradley, Wlad, Kovalev, Marquez, and maybe GGG are the best candidates.
Edit: Thread title says seven? Anyway, first five mentioned are my top 5.
Sorry for the confession, I meant 5.
Most fights I've been have been at the StubHub, great venue, no bad seat in the entire arena. Staples Center doesn't have many fights there but it's a pretty descent venue when it does. But hands down, while it's been of the loop until Marquez/Alvarado, I think there is no vibe quite like The Forum
Just finished reading it and i have to say it's a very well written book. I'm just amazed by how much ground it covered over the span of 13 chapters. The insight on Rigo and the mystery that engulfs him is very intriguing. The difficult choices he made and the burden of regret he wears everyday are dreadful. To have reached what he has reached is outstanding, a true champion. Sadly it's as if Rigo's greatness is overlooked by America and labeled as defiance by his homeland, thus ignored in both lands. New found respect for Cuba's "traitor" champions and what they stand for. Good read.
Couldn't agree more.
Nice, When will that Rigondeaux movie Hero Traitor Madness come out.
It is now titled "Split Decision" Here is the latest trailer http://vimeo.com/80525185
Hopefully by the end of the year or next, its currently in the festival circuit trying to pick up momentum.
That's the thing though. If HBO were on top of things as far as online goes, we wouldn't even need one. You'd be watching it on YouTube right now.
Yep, that's a good point man.
:lol1: :lol1:
It's HBO man. HBO won't even get around to putting it up til after the fight. :nonono: Only Showtime posts their stuff immediately after it airs on TV.
I obviously mean an illegal link.
Saul Alvarez has more promotional value than almost that entire Haymon list put together.
Oscar is invested in the future with Canelo, let's see what Haymon will do when a card has to be put around a guy not named Floyd Maywather.
The undercard coattail days are almost over.
Donaire fans when he took the Rigondeaux fight.
