What is all this fuss over Rigo getting dropped?

To me this fight is rather meaningless for Rigondeaux because the flaw or flaws he showed int his fight are essentially baked in the cake. His big thing is his focus drifts and he gets caught with stupid stuff that should never land on him. Against a lesser fighter his focus was even worse than usual, which is bad but not that surprising, I think against a more threatening guy coming in he would be on his best behavior. A lot of people didn't see it before, more see it now although I don't think most quite realize what is going on. He is always going to be a guy that fights down to the level of his opposition but that does not mean he would do poorly in bigger fights.

You're surprised when people are talking about one of the 3 best boxers in the sport getting dropped by a weight drained club fighter? Talk about thin skinned. Tremendously talented fighter, but he probably gets murked if he finally moves up 4 lbs.

Why is Rigo exempt from any form of criticism? He got dropped against a nobody, he's still a hell of a fighter though. If other great fighters catch heat for "struggling" against other top fighters I don't see the issue with criticism towards Rigo's performance.

He's obviously a better fighter than Bradley or Wlad. I don't see how that's even a debate. He may be but he has not done much except beat 1 top fighter I can say the same thing about Loma but he has to still prove that he is in fact as good as I think he is

And Rigo have never looked bad like Mayweather looked vs Castillo and Maidana. And Rigo have never been fighting with chicken leg and holding for his life as long as Mayweather was vs Mosley. Holding onto his arm save him for touching the canvas. Also Mayweather never try to face boxers 6+ inches taller than him on their home country at the age of 34. And if size is not a problem he should definitely face Lara the #1 contender or GGG to see if his chin is so strong. Imagine if same size Mosley was able to rocked him what all these long boxers with power will do. And what was the record of the first 12 pro boxer that Mayweather faced? The bigger they are the harder they fall? Or in this case the slicker they are, the harder they fall~ It is a proportional thing, if you are way up the technical boxer hierarchy and his fans obviously think and talk very highly of him in this regard, often the expense of other highly skilled practitioners. The fans of those dudes are going to come back and point this out, and considering all that get's said about Rigondeaux this turn of events is not shocking.

People only bring it up to troll the guys who act like Rigo is some type of boxing god. There are a few guys who act like Rigo is the greatest ever so some people are going to point out every shortcoming. That's how it is with every fighter though, not just Rigo. They say the same about Kovalev because he went down even though he wasnt hurt and because Hopkins landed a punch or two in the 12th round that really had no effect.

I think the reason is because he got knocked down silly off what looks almost like a jab, from some super skinny feather fisted Japanese bum. Rigo should start fighting at 126 and 130. If he is so good, why he no move up in weight like the greats? In boxing its kill or be killed. You best belie dis. 1) Amagasa came into the ring weighing 145 pounds 2) He ate a sharp right hand off balance. It wasn't strong, but Rigo was off balance and it landed clean. That's how easy it is to get knocked down in the pro's if you don't have your feet under you. 3) I'm sure he would not be the only great to have never moved up in weight. I don't see what's wrong with that(On the flipside he also can't complain about people moving up in weight to duck him).

All of his knockdowns have been because he got caught off balance and because he is much smaller than most opponents the weight of the punches pushes more easily.
