I'm not a major fan but I don't have and negativity about him either. I do know the only reason he left the welterweight division was because nobody wanted to fight him, which after Pavlik stood him up, left him the most unwanted opponent in boxing.

If Mayweather accepts a 50/50 split he will make about 75million. It's more than he has ever made, almost double. Sorry, but I don't see the difference. If Pacquiao accepts 40million and Floyd gets the rest then Floyd would make an estimated 110million. It is a deal breaker. Only Floyd's most devoted fans think it's a fair offer.
I dont comment much anymore, but me and a co worker had a talk about this. Pac and Floyd will never recieve the same amount of money even if he does 50-50. I dont know the particulars and im sure know one has Pacs contract with Arum word for word but his share would definetly be dwindled for Arums cut. He may recieve less than 40 million. Buisness wise Floyd's gonna be on top either way. If he wanted 50-50 he should of fought Floyd instead of Clottey. For 3 years he's been trying to negoiate the same exact deal he walked away from initally...which was a 2 week window on drug testing and 50-50 share

You see this is something i can't agree with, had Cotto not been the champ i would be ok with but as he was its different. If your not sure you can fight at WW, then have a tune up, fight Clottey first, even at 145, im cool with that, THEN fight the champion at 147, which happened to be Miguel Cotto. But i don't agree jumping straight into a division and fighting a champion for his belt at 147 but having it at 145 because your not sure if you can fight there, thats something in my opinion i just cant agree on.

Actually, that's not true. The lineal title at welterweight was vacant at the time. However, he was considered as one of the best, if not the best among the current welterweights at the time. If Mosley had won over Floyd, then it is undeniable that he and Pac would have been the next best and most logical fight to make. Mosley would have had his day with Pac eventually. But after losing to Floyd in that fashion, no one else had any interest in seeing Mosley fight Pac.
My point is that no single fighter can dictate the flow of history, not even Pac. So, it is unfair to blame him for what did or didn't happen according to our expectations. For example, if Floyd didn't retire, Oscar wouldn't have cherry-picked Pac. Pac wouldn't have dared to leapfrog over 135 and 140. Hatton would still be fighting. Cotto would still be considered as a P4P fighter. There wouldn't be any demand for Pac-Mayweather. We wouldn't be arguing about any of this. LOL

Remember that Cotto was the first full-fledged welter fight for Pac, and many were wondering whether he can take a welterweight punch or carry his power up with him. If Pac hadn't proven himself in the Cotto fight, then Clottey would never even have happened. But since Pac destroyed Cotto, then they were confident enough to take on Clottey at full 147. Comparing Cotto's catchweight and Clottey's non-catchweight fights against Pac is simply *****ing in hindsight.
In the same manner, Margarito is Pac's first fight at junior middleweight - thus, the catchweight. Now that Roach and Ariza realized that Pac really cannot balloon beyond 150 lbs. without losing his speed, they have decided that Pac has to move back down to welterweight, win or lose against Margarito.
I give him props for beating cotto. But he shouldnt have been fighting Cotto in the first place, he should have fought Mosley. Mosley was going to fight Clottey but backed out trying to fight Pac. Pac opted for lesser comp in Cotto, and then fought Clottey who was coming off a loss. Margs had 2 bad perfomances and a suspension. TP gets this crap off by blaming it on failed "Floyd negotiations" attempts. Boxing politics are to blame. He's an awesome fighter though.
