I wsa on my daily drive to work this am listening to Colin Cowherd and he went on a rant how Mike Tyson was Mediocre at best. He rambled on stating he beat a bunch of bums and nobody's. He said that "when Tyson stepped up to the elite level he was 0-3. Lost to Holyfield twice and once to Lewis. According to Coward I mean Cowherd Tyson fought in an era when the HW div. was the weakest. I couldnt believe what he was saying because he holds the Klits so high on a pedistal.
I was sitting there thinking WOW. He must have forgot that Tyson served time in the pen and when he fought a prime Lewis he was past it. Im not saying he would beat Lewis prime for prime but I think it would have been a lot more cometitive.
I dont want to hear the whole ESPN sucks and blah blah blah
I want your opinions on what he said and if you agree with him.
Big Shout out to No Ceilings and his unranked Michigan Wolves!
its easy to have alot left when your 6'6 260 fighting a drug addict, with absolutely nothing in the tank.lewis showed his true guts by refusing klitscho a rematch, yet attemtpting to sue tyson for a rematch clause in their contract.a true disgrace
Are you talking about Jameel McCline? Because Lennox Lewis was never 6'6 or 260.
I don't think the HW era was that good when Tyson dominated. I think it was much better than this HW era and maybe slightly better than Holmes era. But, not a great era.
However, Tyson was not mediocre and yea Tyson was past it when he fought Lewis. But, Lewis wasn't in his prime either. But, he damn sure had a lot more left than Tyson did.

He did fight a lot of bums, but you could tell that in his prime he would've given any top HW in history a damn good fight.
every top fighter has fought alot of bums
utter crap....Tyson went the full 12 better than most HW's.....in his prime he never weighed more than 215-220 on fight night!!! Besides in his own words it's all mental. He said if it's a 6 rd fight you are tired by the 4th, a 10 rd fight and you are tired by the eighth etc etc.......
I don't care what Tyson said. He faded after the early rounds and often coasted with his beat up opponents just hanging on. Champions like Frazier and Marciano always kept bringing it. Sometimes they even turned up the pressure in the later rounds.
Tyson is one of the most overrated heavyweights of all time.
Prime For Prime...Either Klitschko destroys Tyson.
Wlad is overrated more by all his nuthuggers.
Honestly i agree for the most part. He would def KO Vitali and Wlad inside of 2 or 3 rds.....and i don't say that because i dislike these fighters (i don't)....it's simply because Tyson's style and speed is a computer printout of what the Klits should not fight.
I think Tyson takes both Lewis and Holyfield but Vitali gives him hell.
I think Vitali moves well, he doesnt just stand there and cover up taking shots, plus his chim is amazing. Also his sheer size and reach would give lil Tyson problems.
I dont see Tyson stopping Vitali. He could wear Tyson down towards the end.
Tough fight to predict imo.

Well past it.....by a long way....yet he ate shot after shot like they were biscuits until he finally went down.
I remember watching a doco on the fight....it's hilarious...Lewis wide-eyed said he was "shocked and amazed at the shots he (Tyson) was able to take" :lol1:
I remember Lennox Lewis saying how when he was young, he saw the young Mike Tyson train, and Lewis said "When I saw Mike, I said to myself I do not wanna fight this guy".
Lewis was scared before even becoming pro. So, the fear factor that Mike brought to the fights is something this dumb ass radio scum bag forgot about.
Holyfield was also stunned after watching him train in the 80's.....he couldn't believe a fighter existed that worked harder than he did.
Frank Bruno: "I would rather figh Lennox Lewis 100 times than have to fight Mike Tyson once"
Guys like RJJ and Mayweather even say very very good things about the young Mike.....they certainly don't say he was overrated.
Prime Tyson would KO Lewis, Holyfield, Both Klitchkos, David Haye. And I stand by this statement.

Fair enough. But IMO Tyson was a great fighter for 4-5 rounds, while Frazier was for all 15. And you had to be a true 15 round fighter to beat Ali.

just watch this, prime tyson was one of the best ever imo,i know everyone wont agree with me on this but fuk you tyson all the way
i agree.....mentally and physically ready he is one of the best ever to lace them up.
How did Tyson fight bums when he cleaned out his division dominantly and within just a few years?
it wasnt the best division ever, nah, but not the worst either.
the problem with his era was not lack of talent, because there were some pretty impressive guys around...but they never reached their full potential because of conditioning and drugs and other crappy things
Joe Frazier beat Ali after he had 2 fights within a few months got 18 rounds in, even in the second fight when Ali won he still struggled against Frazier.
Tyson throws more punches, not mention the different variation of those punches, more explosive & has a better defence, IMO Tyson would have beat him.

People tend to pick on Tyson, but give him credit. He only lost one fight in his career. Against Buster Douglas. Dont try correct me by saying Evander beat him, and LL beat him. No they didnt.
When he was at his peak people feared him and were in awe of what he did to his opponents. Judge him by that.
See how retarded that sounded.........that's almost as bad as some idiot comparing Mike Tyson to Zab Judah...........:beerchug:
Thanks for making my point for me..........hahhahha
The best ownage is the one where you don't' even have to do ****.....ya'll do it for me.......:stickp4: ahhahhahahha
haha i dont see it. By the way how dodgers owners doing? pppffff
You know who was a talentless bum........this guy.......just cuz you got crazy money it doesn't mean your great.....

If you know anything about sports you would know he wasnt one of the richest owners. He was willing to spend money in order to win. 7 rings and last years was him. U MAD? HE WASN'T A GREAT OWNER? HAHAHA
The whole problem is these guys look at Tyson's career as a whole to define how good he really was. Yes, his career wasn't all that great, but he was a hell of a fighter when he was hungry, thats the bottom line. After the Spinks fight he fired everyone and started going down hill after that. Everything in his life changed and the death of Jim Jacobs was the straw that broke the camels back. There's no telling how great he could have became if he had stayed on track. All we can do now is apreciate what he gave us until 1988 and laugh at the idiots that use examples of his losses after that point to downplay how great he really was. But, Mike did this to himself and there's nothing we can do about it. In his prime, I believe only Ali could have beaten him.
Tyson is nothing more then a Zab Judah crazy talent but lost because of his head. He beat nothing but good and bum fighters. Just cause you got crazy talent it doesn't mean your a great fighter
Lol, let's not pretend he wasn't in his prime when he fought Lewis and Holyfield. Let's not pretend he lost all of his trainers that made him what he was by than.
