You will see my friend! Watch and learn, styles make fights. Andre Ward has a decent boxing style but he takes to much punishment. Against a sharp shooter counter puncher with pop and patience, Ward will be KTFO! Ward loves to rush in head first and grab. His stamina was zap from him last night with almost no body work done to him. Anthony will destroy that body and set up the counter hook, via Knocking Andre the f%$k out!
Talking total ****
Smogger is a great Ref hands down with this in mind is there in need for Cortez in any world title fights? I don't think so If I was fighting there is only one maybe refs that I would want in my fight and Cortez ain't one of them..For me if Cortez is involved this could only lead to a troubled fight.. We should start naming and shaming some of these judges to..Let's get it out in the open...
Judges are like referee's in football, total ****ing morons who have never entered the ring.
Call me mad for saying that but some of the scoring this year in big fights has been awful.
Then again they may just be corrupt and drive around in ferrari's.
Funny thing is that Andre Ward dominated everybody in the Super Six tournament but he should have lost to Sakio Bika. You guys remember the Ward-Bika fight which took place after the Allan Green-Ward fight??
That fight was a clear robbery. And please don't gon on boxrec now and tell me that the 3 judges scored this fight 120-108 and twice 118:110, cause I know how corrupt them damn judges were.
Bika was the ring general the whole fight, won almost all of the first 8 rounds, outboxed Ward the whole time, then became tired and lost rounds 9,10 and 11, but finished strong to win the 12th round.
Andre Ward won only maybe 5 rounds of the whole fight, Bika the rest. Don't listen to the joke *ss biased commentary when you score the fight:
Can't say i can remember the time when Bika beat any top level fighter, yes he gave Calzaghe and Ward problems but thats were it stops, the public need to start giving Ward credit because people inside the boxing world (who know more about boxing than half the people on this site) have now given overdue credit to Ward.
Ward should be #2 in the P4P rankings.
Who does this guy think he is, he just skips the whole competition so he can fight bums in his hometown, then thinks he deserves a shot?
He should fight Kessler, and if he wins, fight Froch first. He is proves himself worthy then he should fight Ward.
And at a neutral venue, so when he gets Andrade'd he won't be able to have someone break the rules for him.
I totally agree, Jean Paul Mendy? while Ward has just faced Froch, Bute gotta take on Froch first, Kessler i feel is fast becoming a gatekeeper.
The British judge scored it 118-110 not 115-113, it was the American and Canadian judges who scored it 115-113!
Really? thats even more shocking, what were they watching apart fro round 9 and possibly 12 i had Froch losing every round.
LOL !!
Winky and it's not even close.
If i could you more karma i would, yer Calslappy was way overrated, Winky was pure beast, avoided by many, i thought the Hopkins match should have been a draw simply becasue it was awful and a fighter like Hopkins is bad for the sport. that and Hopkins didn't really win a clear round.
In my opinion who ever wins super six and then defeats Bute should go 2nd in pound for pound ratings. The opposition that Ward and Froch especially has faced is second to none even the talent stacked 140 division hasn't got a fighter who has gone through opponents like Froch, and for that matter nor has Pacquaio and Mayweather.
Good luck to both but i think a lot of you are thinking Ward will be fighting his fight and win comfortably, I think froch has the mentality that no other british fighter has, and can fight on the inside better than people may know, and i think he'll be walking through Ward's punches, will be intresting.
Martinez fight plan should be as follows:
Chavez Jnr Get the belt back that is rightfully his.
Alvarez Trust me Alvarez is a middleweight this fight is legit.
Pirog Once Pirog and his team realise that he is not a draw even compared to Martinez and don't price themsleves out, this is a real hard fight for martinez, one that could turn ugly.
Golovkin Big puncher swansong fight, probaly a repeat of Pavlik fight.
Sturm This eventually has to happen, will take longer now as he has to give Murray a rematch.
Murray If Murrray beats Sturm, Martinez beats Murray easily, unlike Barker.
Macklin Another name on the resume, to bulk up a career that was moonlighting.
Andy Lee If Lee starts to climb the rankings and devolops nicely this will be a sure fight in a year or two.
Now i don't see why people are still talking about Mayweather and Pacquiao other than Martinez wanting to cash in. Martinez beats 4/5 above and he is rightfully a HOF and probaly has a better legacy at middleweight than Hopkins.
People the thread asks who's greater, Not who would win the fight, Calzaghe' best wins are Lacy(superbum), RJJ(10 years removed from when he would have put Calzaghe in hospital), Hopkins(a fight i thought he lost).
Winky beat Vargas(robbery)
Shane Mosley
beat Jermain (robbed)
Beat Trinidad with ease
Out boxed Ike Quartey
Deserved atleast a draw against Hopkins
Oh and had Winky rematched Vargas when Mosley did then its a total shut out.
You think Calzaghe beat a prime Jones Jnr and Hopkins you mad!, aswell as a prime Eubank.
This guy is still probaly going round retirement homes looking for fights to boost his record.
to be truthful aside for the money that Floyd brings, Martinez knows he has this big size advantage that he can use versus Floyd and use it to get a W, main reason Sergio is picking a fight with the smaller guys like Floyd, Pac and Cotto instead of going for the bigger guys...
anyway I dont see Sergio as too big for Floyd, I have not seen Floyd gave up to much size versus his biggest opponents i.e. dela hoya, mosley or even ortiz ...
Your joking right your Messiah had to drain and old man down to 147, Ortiz is massive and would **** Pac right up, and Mosley had just drawn his pension and got his piss bag changed over before the Pacquiao fight. Deluded Pactard hating on Floyd, remember Marquez is Pac's daddy and in Pac's heart of hearts knows he lost the 2nd and 3rd fights for sure.
Pacquiao of course by KO. Khan talks too much. I think he needs more experience. Roach and Ariza will be working Pacquiao's corner. Roach will use Khan's weakness against him. Khan has foot speed , but Pacquiao has hand speed. I would like to see this fight just so Khan can STFU.
Mannys accuracy when he does that Bruce Lee style punching is awful, khan probaly hits softer but probaly has the speed advantage, Your all on this bandwagon from when DLH stood infront of Pacquiao and done his sunday best punching bag impression. Also Khan is massive and will probaly end up at 154 by the end of his carrer, You can ask Roach aswell and he'll say khan is the more well rounded boxer.
Juan Manuel "DinaRUN" Marquez lol
Well done your sigs show two moments when Pac partially got the better of Marquez, there ain't enough room on this forum to show Pacquiao getting schooled.
BTW the 2nd one looks like a jab, a **** jab at that.
i think im underrating Jr and might be overrating Sergio. it could be a good fight. looks like Jr can take a punch and he has enough pop to catch Sergio if he uses his height and reach like Pavlik did. they both have the habit of dropping their guards.
You can't drop what you never put up.
kellerman is a dweeb !!!! hes just saying controversial stuff so he can steal merchants place !!!!!!
Why would he do that, Merchant' about to kick the bucket within the next two years.
no to shane mosley for the HOF, because who has he beaten besides de la hoyaand even then he was on steroids so those dont count.
I like Mosley, I kinda agree with you but he probaly makes it in there, he was a great lightweight and faced almost every big name there is.
Okay now that we know the role of everyone in teaem pac its obvious Bob Arum is the boss. We all know arum does not want to do business with Mayweather as arum really dont like mayweather. Can manny pacquaio earn alot of respect from all of the boxing world if he finally puts he foot down and demands that fight from arum.
I am under the belief that pacquaio have and always have been willing to fight Mayweather it just Arum is the road block that makes it difficult.
How would you view Pacquaio is he publicly make a stand and demand against arum stating he wants mayweather or no one else?
I agree with you, he just a puppet for top rank, a money making puppet but a puppet none the less.
With Bradley think Kendall Holt knocking him down but 10 times worse and more convincing...... thats what Amir Khan is gunna do and Bradley knows this otherwise he would take the fight.
Ariza is 100% right as usual. Marquez is a hypocrite cuz he said he was going for the KO yet he ran from the very first second of the first round.
And then he ran from the ring right after the fight without giving a interview like a lil b*tch.
Marquez's plan that night was to run like forrest gump as long as Pac was in the same building, very similar to gayweather
Knockouts can come from timing with counter punching ,waiting for the right oppurtunity, when was the last time Pac knocked someone out with his bruce lee impersonation.
You would know and accept this if your were a boxing fan, your not your a Pactard you and Bombs should have a kid to make the ultimate Pactard.
put on a subpar performance purposely to lure moneymay into a fight? just speculation, but with the way boxing looks..with the bull**** relocation of cotto marg seems like a publicity stunt. now arum doesnt wna give pac a floyd fight. all promo to gain a 3 mil ppv record.
arum needs to go though, deadass.
Wait i thought leg cramps were the culprit, you know the leg cramps casued by his failing marriage.
ALEX ARIZA: "I THOUGHT MARQUEZ WAS A TRUE MEXICAN WARRIOR...HE PLAYED IT SAFE"
"Marquez didn't come to fight; that was his plan, was to survive and try to take advantage and win on points. He didn't come to knock Manny out. I thought Marquez was a true Mexican warrior, was going to come and do exactly what he said and try to make sure it didn't go in the hands of judges, but he didn't. He let it go to the hands of the judges...you can't keep going backwards. Even though you're counterpunching beautifully and you're sticking to your game plan, this is a championship fight, man. This is a fight that had two controversial endings...Marquez played it safe and didn't want to take any risks. A true Mexican warrior big shot that he is and that he claims to be...What happened to all that blood, life, glory and all that other stuff that he said on 24/7? I thought he was going to leave it all in the ring, not play it safe. I never heard 'play it safe' ever come into play," stated world-class strength-and-conditioning coach Alex Ariza, who shared his thoughts on the outcome of last Saturday's fight, the performances of both Pacquiao and Marquez, their future plans and much more. Check it out!

See this proves Ariza belongs on muscle beach and nowhere near a boxing ring, everyone knows Marquez is a counter puncher and so what, because he's mexican he has to sit, trade and bleed.
Ariza belongs at a fitness first gym, he could run a Leg cramps 101 course.
*Serious posters only please*
Whenever someone mentions Khan vs Mayweather many of us are quick to mention the winner but....
If you were Khans trainer what gameplan would you give to Amir Khan to beat floyd?
Try and be as detailed as possible.
I will do a similar thread for Mayweather gameplan in a couple of days.
Lets see what people think
NB - There reaches are virtually the same.
Mayweather reach -72
Khan reach - 71
(According to boxrec)
Looking at the opponent closest to beating Floyd is the way to go.
Obviously that is Luis Castillio.
Castillo got in close smothered Floyd hit him with left hooks to the body and took away Floyds Straight right which was deadly at lightweight.
Floyd has never been called upon fighting on the inside until Hatton made a good go of it, Floyd fights in the pocket not on the inside.
Khan has a size advantage, and throwing in combo's a speed advantage, if he concentrates on cutting of the ring and getting mayweather on the ropes he maybe able to make the fight ugly and reduce floyds elegant counters which score big points with the judges when you let him fight from the outside to in the pocket at will. Floyd disrupts an opponents rythem by always changing his, Castillo never let him get into any sort of rythem.
Its gunna be ugly and has got to be totally different to anything Khan has ever done inside a boxing ring before.
Fighting Floyd on the outside would be a bad idea as stated in this thread mayweather has the suprise reach advantage and a beautiful jab he can bring out when he's really up against it.
If anyone has a chance to beat Floyd its Khan not Pacquaio.
Khans jab is not great or strong? :lol1:
Ask malignaggi he ate a load of jabs. Maidana started round 1 like a freight train thinking he would bulldoze khan but as soon as he ate a jab he stepped back and thought jheeze I didn't expect that.
Yer Khan has a great jab along with Mayweather,Wlad and Martinez probaly the best in boxing right now.
I like Cotto but he revealed his emotions about Tony big-time in the show with that remark (and others). :lol1:
Not the most rational thing he's ever said, but that's fine. He's obviously convinced of something.
Karma, for the art attack sig boy that takes me back.
I watched the fight again today and heres my thoughts
1. Compubox numbers are seriously out, if not fixed to make people believe Pacquiao was landing more than he was even throwing.
2.My angst for Pactards does not affect my judgement of Pac himself, I feel he is slightly overrated but still a HOF fighter.
3.In my heart of hearts i feel Marquez won 116-112, and that was trying to giv Pacquaio the last round because i heard so many people quoating 7 rounds to 5.
4.I now actually like Max Kellerman he is a beast of a commentator inpartial to any boxer and rightly questioned Ledermans suspect scorecard.
Pac fans and Pactards feel free to rip on me with childish posts and i will correct you and make you look stupid time after time. :boxing:
Well i just went right off of Amir Khan! He and Lamont Peterson put on one helluva show but while Lamont was classy in victory Khan was bitter and classless in defeat....
I personally scored the fight a draw but anyone could see it was a close fight and when its that close, in your opponents backyard, ur fighting off the backfoot and u have had 2 points deducted u cant complain with the decision. The point deductions were fair too, infact he's lucky he didnt get more as he constantly pushed Peterson down and/or away...
I was rooting for Amir but it was impossible not to be happy for Lamont - what a story and u could see it meant the world to him, Congrats Lamont Peterson! :boxing:
Khan won that fight and you know it.
First, i wanna say that I think Canelo beats Jr if the fight happened right now. But if the fight happens down the road heres what i see:
Judging by their last fights, Chavez Jr has shown improvements. He moves around the ring pretty well, better head movement, and hand speed looks better.
Canelo, on the other hand, looks the same. No head movement what so ever, hand speed is the same, footwork has not changed, still looks a little slow and nothing new in his skill set. Canelo looks predictable now since he relies on his right hand to do everything.
Roach and Ariza are doing a hell of a job with Jr, I think Golden Boy needs to have a talk with Canelo about getting a better trainer or Jr will surpass him in a couple of years.
Canelo's problem is that he beats shot, journeymen fighters with ease and thinks his heavy hands will do the same to Mayweather,Martinez and other better fighters.
Chavez knows his limitations and works hard on bettering himself every fight.
All comes down to Alvarez being ginger and thinking his better than he really is, he got potential but so did Jeff Lacy apparently...........
