Now I'm not saying he doesn't belong in the HOF...But, I do believe people get caught up in how he looked at LW and at his pretty record in the division. And, tend to overrate what he actually accomplished in the division.
Personally IMO he's a deffinetely a HOF'er...The PED's doesn't really reflect anything IMO. I won't hold Roy, Holyfield, nor Toney out of the HOF cuz' of their PED use.
Now whether Mosley is a first ballot HOF'er it depends on who is on the ballot with him.
another very good post.
it all depends on when these guys start to retire in terms of when they get in
eventually shane mosley is getting into the hof.
let's be real, here.
Using criteria for other sports. Mosley isn't hall of fame.
Seeing how boxing's criteria is either low or ****ed and seeing how lesser people are considered for it. Mosley's probably hof material.
Close call
Close call. He is 3 divison champion and Beat Oscar Twice. His losses to winky Wright and Vernon forest put a Damper on his career not to mention his quit job against Pacquaio
no to shane mosley for the HOF, because who has he beaten besides de la hoyaand even then he was on steroids so those dont count.
I like Mosley, I kinda agree with you but he probaly makes it in there, he was a great lightweight and faced almost every big name there is.

i think this is the deciding factor on whether he gets in the first time around. IMO, he shouldn't but it seriously depends on who else is on that ballot
don't get me wrong, i'm a pretty big fan of mosley, always have been. but i agree that his lightweight reign is overrated. his biggest wins there were leija and molina and those guys aren't really anything special.
i think he belongs in the HOF at some point being a 3-weight champion
i think oscar was wbc which was the main of course, then boxrec said oscar had the iba lol.so the wbo and ibf are missing
the wbc is the main belt? no belt is worth more than another because they are all worth nothing.
shanes run at lightweight was garbage.and he skipped 140 entirely.he left that lw division as soon as it started to heat up.he missed potential fights with corrales, frietas, casamayor, stevie johnson, leavander johnson, castillo, sharmba mitchell,a potential superfight wit tsyzu, vince phillips, hurtado.im sorry but he missed way to many guys at 35 and 40 chasing that oscar fight
even at 147-54,no quartey,trinidad,oba carr
but to the topic, shane is hof only because there are way worse fighters in there than him.he's the 1st guy to beat oscar legit
shane would fukk up all those guys
Phillip Holiday, maybe?
Of course, Trinidad beat Oscar.
I guess you could argue Oscar should have been Lineal Champion when Shane beat him at WW but that's a whole other debate. And offically he wasn't.
The other one was his win over Margarito. An ongoing differ of opinions and reasoning as to whether Margarito was the Lineal Champion when Shane beat him, so that's another debate again.
But, atleast both were the #1 WW when he beat them.

mosley's lightweight run is at least better than chris john's featherweight run. john's beaten 2 top 10 fighters in his career and 1 was a robbery. 45-0 baby! can he beat stanslav merdov and tie the great calzaghe? tune in november 30th to find out!
probly molina or ruiz
i dont remember him ever being linear at welter.i think vernon had the ibf

Shane Mosley's Lightweight resume might be the most overrated reign to the newer fans who didn't see his reign and automatically presume it's impressive.
Go and look at it, what's his best win there? Leija?
He beat like 2 or 3 ranked fighters at the weight.
However, Shane is definitely a HOF'er in my opinion.
2 time Lineal WW Champion.
Lineal Jr Middleweight Champion
3 Weight World Champion.
And a resume worthy of the HOF.

Someone needs to go to the video trading block and watch Shane's run at lightweight.
