don't believe a word off that website. It's a fooking blog, bro. Maybe the numbers are true, I doubt it, but I'd rather it came from ESPN or yahoo or something.
Paulie is a tard. His tweet isn't even about complementing Nonito - he's only raising Donaire's name in attempt to down Pac. How bout just giving props to Donaire instead of pushing your 9 year old argument by using his name?
Anyways, Paulie hasn't been tested so that must mean his achievements are null and void.
Pac prolly did take PEDs. So did everyone else, that includes Usada boy.
how come may is the only one to be sued :dunno:
good question. it's actually one redeeming factor about the Pac steroid debacle. It makes me think he may have actually been clean ('m suspicious of plenty of fighters) bc to sue and use roids is a bit risky especially if you get caught later, you are no doubt going to get sued from the same people and not have much of a case to defend yourself on.
I never liked Deontay's shtick, even the night of the fight he was talking about how he was going to seriously hurt Fury, so his costume excuse looks f u cking silly in retrospect to being such a boogeyman. You can skip his ridiculous interviews, but Wilder is still a bad man inside that ring. SNL knows f u ck all about boxing, and should stay out of it.
I don't think Fury got away with anything versus Wilder, in terms of his gloves...too big a stage, too many people inspecting the gloves beforehand. BUT i have always said, if a fighter fights dirty inside the ring in front of millions of people, how could anybody profoundly assume they've never partook in illegal activity outside the ring, like PEDs or even as brazen as glove tampering? Some guys just fight dirty and they'll do shady sh it to win.
Plus the glove tampering is especially unlikely bc one of his sparring partners brought it to light before the fight; one would assume team Wilder would be vigilant about it thereafter.
that video is of the first fight...I'm just going to assume his gloves were looked at by the cornermen and felt by the refs. And nothing impressive about landing a left hook with your palm instead of a closed fist.
eh, wilder would've danced over Fury if he knocked him out unconscious. I've seen a few Wilder fights to not feel too bad about it. It was dumb, but no dumber than Wilder's acts. Btw he only flicked his tongue, he certainly didn't lick him. I personally dislike it, but where was this thread when Terrence Crawford does it one too many times during a multitude of fights?
I thought Fury was winning before he started to engage in those tactics, and he deserves heaps of praise for walking Wilder down, being effective in this strategy and hurting the puncher. But it's absolutely fair to suggest the leaning on Wilder helped him and made Wilder drain of energy quicker.
I just rewatched the fight and although Fury did many things well, one thing he started to do repeatedly after like 3rd round was lean on Wilder's neck - It actually reminded me of the Floyd-judah fight where floyd would throw the 1-2 and if his right hand missed he's just lean the missed right arm onto Judah's neck while Judah was trying to slip or duck. It's not why Wilder lost, but it was very apparent it was a drain on him. This is partly on the ref not warning Fury earlier, and partly on Wilder and his team for not speaking up and not adjusting.
TBF, there may have been rabbit punches by both fighters.
Boxing took a big L today. This was starting off as a fire fight unlike the 1st which was a snoozer for the most part, we were going to see fireworks and then a ****ing busted eardrum happened. I'm not even sure what punch caused it, that knockdown by Fury didn't look like it hit Wilder's ear, it's usually caused by the glove hitting the ear opening just right (even by a light punch), creating pressure and rupturing the eardrum, throws off your equilibrium.
I'm not sure who would've won, but it would've been better than seeing Wilder stumbling around the ring. I wanted to see it end with then exchanging blows not this 1 sided ****. Feels like a huge loss for boxing.
hypocrisy right here. I take it you wanted Fury to lose so you're upset. The better man won. Period. I have a hard time believing you're so forgiving to fighters you dislike that have complained of an injury in fight camp like Pacquiao, and even less so to fighters that get injured DURING the fight. Wilder takes pleasure in knocking guys out cold and even says ridiculous things about body bagging fighters and now that he's on the other end, we're supposed to feel like this is an L, because it MIGHT BE a ruptured eardrum? IF it is, then it was caused by a punch.
He needs to fight Crawford first before any such talk. As for his discipline at making 147, that's a compliment to him. He's somewhat big, but he doesn't strike me as someone that struggles to make the weight in order to fight smaller men.
Paulie did a few interviews saying this guy wouldn't do anything in person. I don't know this was Paulie's intention but now they can make some money together from a fight.
I wouldn't say that's why Bayless sucked in this fight. I think he did a poor job enforcing the rules. These refs in boxing hardly ever referee. Some major fights would look a lot different if the rules and point deductions were strictly enforced. As for the count, I thought Bayless was just trying to make sure Ramirez was good to continue. I actually like that approach in making a fighter move sideways before resuming action, it's a brief moment that a fighter can prove that they are okay. There are other refs that would've judged Ramirez unfit to continue and you would've had a 7th round tko for Taylor. I think at this level of the sport, it's okay to ask a fighter to move laterally before resuming a championship bout.
I believe that undisputed is becoming less important. Mostly because of WBO and their inconsistent requirements.
Look at Joshua / Usyk. Nothing but constant threats. Yet not a peep to Crawford.
140 is the only division where there seems to be an exception.
Taylor hasn't moved up to become mandatory to Crawford like Usyk has. not even close.
politics. no way this fight should be for the lineal belt. it's not even a unification since that wba belt sucks ass. Crawford vs Spence is the real fight no matter how much pbc fanboys and showtime try to push this.
I don't see why matchroom wouldn't sign him. But if they can't give him the money he's asking for then his best career choice is probably to stay a free agent.
As a Canelo fan I didn’t like how Canelo handled that situation...I’m disappointed that he wasn’t more gracious about it :( . Andrade wasn’t disrespectful, I mean in a sense he was because he was taking away from canelos moment, but how he addressed wasn’t disrespectful. But at the same time Andrade has talked **** about him and maybe Canelo had enough, but still I wish Canelo would’ve handled it differently...like he did when Lara crashed his press conference.
felt the same way. Canelo started cussing and making a bigger scene of it than it needed to be. I get his frustration, bc that is his presser, but it escalated way more than the tension in the room dictated. Andrade actually handled himself good. Coppinger was extra cheesy about it afterwards like a tool, but that's a different topic.
That was a terrible and classless way to get a someone's attention.
I guarantee you, Nelo would not have stooped so low and if he did, MFers would be in here dogging him for acting like a fool.
true. Perhaps I have an English bias here bc I understood what Andrade was saying, but I didn't feel that his tone could be misconstrued as disrespectful even with the language barrier. It was just a matter of him not wanting to take questions from Andrade and letting him know this is his spotlight. I understand why Canelo got upset, I just didn't think he needed to get riled up like that.
As for Hearn, I don't think Hearn handled that poorly honestly. He just said it's not the place for this and he's not wrong; let Canelo enjoy his victory.
Teddy's cool sometimes...I don't even know how to explain it, but I feel like he may be a turn off to casuals. Brian Kenny would've been more ideal, me thinks. Will Tim and Teddy at all disagree with each other?
Anyways, I'm genuinely surprised ESPN is committed to boxing like this, it just felt like they were slowing moving away from that direction. But it's an ideal platform to put boxing alongside other sports.
Horn is certainly going to make more off tickets, he's part of the draw, he's the Australian in Australia. So 500k guaranteed with upside, oh and ppv buys in Australia. Do you know the gate?
This fight was rough, but Pac didn't complain at all. I actually think he should've started to, to at least bring attention to it when the ref was blind to it. Idk why he never did. It actually reminded me of Loma-Salido, where Loma never complained while the fouls were so blatant. Horn manhandled Pac at time like with just his size, I don't recall that with Floyd. I don't remember ever thinking "these guys look like they're in different weight classes" - maybe that's because Floyd isn't so short, I know he otherwise weighs less than Maidana.
not the worst choice really. They're looking for that awkward look more than anything and the left hand, certainly not matching in speed or footwork. Marquez didn't spar anyone known for the 4th bout either, meanwhile Manny was going to war with Ruslan.
Been saying time and time again that this was a great fight and that Horn was a great fighter. Not surprised by this at all.
Dude what are you talking about? lmao we had a quick back and forth on this, I thought I recalled your name...
12-09-2016
Horn is complete garbage. One handed and pillow fisted. No jab whatsoever. Are you Australian?
Now I'll admit Horn was sloppier (and certainly rougher) than I'd predicted myself, but you straight called him garbage. Great fighter? Incidentally the quote you posted was posted before the fight so you get credit there.
Horn was still very green the first time I saw him. Boxers do improve you know.
I posted this on 05-29-2017
December 2016 actually. That's quite the improvement in 6 months. Maybe you could just admit you misjudged him. Whatever, it's no big deal to me, I just recall you getting extra angry when I didn't refer to Horn as a bum.
Horn is decent fighter ,very Akward
This. But I wasn't one of the people calling Horn a bum, so I don't have anything to admit. I'd like to see those twats come out of the wood work and admit they don't know sh1t about boxing...if your prediction is WAY off, then own up to it with a good ole "Idksab" People made fun of Horn for being unknown, make fun of yourself for not knowing. I'm jus sayin, it has to go both ways.
