Super Fly 2 Purses:
Rungvisai 250k
Estrada 100k
Cuadras 25k
Arroyo 25k
Nietes 40k
Reveco 30k
Viloria 50k
Dalakian 25k
Ratings for superfly II are in and they produced about the same ratings as matthyssekiram and linaresgesta. Those guys were paid as followed:
Linares $300k
Gesta $70k
Matthysse $210k
Kiram $40k.
Not that much more expensive, but linares and matthysse also didnt fight against live opponents.
Still, HBO clearly are operating on a smaller budget. First two events cost them under 600k in purses.
Small purses for BIG entertainment...
Yeah... Small, considering nobody in this thread would come near a days work with that sort of pay?
It's a great payday and it's great that neither guy didn't make a big fuss about the money it proves to us that they're not greedy and they're willing to make the fights happen.
Damn. I realize the lower weights get paid less, but ****... Viloria fights for a world title and is making 50k? And his undefeated opponent 25k?
Christ.
Yea...thats why they don't do much tuneups.. they are trying to make as much as they can...
Meanwhile, there are some divas in other divisions... who stall fights the fans want to see.
Yeah,
I'm from the UK but visit Mexico quite often. I was surprised how little interest there is for boxing in Mexico in general, considering it's rich history of boxing and some legendary fighters.
A lot of Mexican's i know seem to know about the Premier League in England than they do about Boxing and Mexican fighters.
Yeah, it's pure ignorance, people is ****ing stupid. They support the mediocre soccer players and the mediocre mexican clubs in a crazy way.
The mexican boxing does not have good support of the government or the fans.
It's a shame because the mexican boxers are the best sportsmen of the country and always are in the top of their divisions.
The same Márquez was not very famous in his beginning.
I know personally Zorrita Soto and he said me that he was mad about how the press and the media don't give them the attention that they deserve and all the sport talk is about soccer.
Thats the reason why mexicans are always fighting outside of México or receiving **** paydays.
But in the 70's, 80's and 90's the situation was other. They had the attention of the people.
Estrada and Cuadras are not famous in México.
Stupid people thinks that a mexican champion is a Héro in my country when the reality is that nobody cares.
People of México is more a soccer fan than a boxing fan.
Only Canelo and stupid Chávez JR are famous athletes.

don't believe a word off that website. It's a fooking blog, bro. Maybe the numbers are true, I doubt it, but I'd rather it came from ESPN or yahoo or something.

Yeah . Plus Cuadras purse seems small to me . How is he getting paid equal or less than Arroyo and Raveco ?
On paper, Cuadras fight is relatively the "easiest" fight among the 4 and it's also the only 10-rounder.
