The Ring title being on the line is not the same thing as the lineal title. After Floyd retired, it comes down to if you think Pacquiao vs Bradley was for the lineal title or not. If you do? Then Crawford has it. If you don't? Then the winner of this fight can have it or it still stays vacant. I believe that undisputed is becoming less important. Mostly because of WBO and their inconsistent requirements. Look at Joshua / Usyk. Nothing but constant threats. Yet not a peep to Crawford. 140 is the only division where there seems to be an exception. Well you make a good point! There's no question that these sanctioning bodies are corrupt; Especially the WBO and the WBA. It's the fighters who makes the titles not the titles who make the fighters. It's the people's champion that counts the most anyhow. So, I guess that lineal is the best thing next to undisputed then. The problem is there are just too many alphabet soup sanctioning bodies. I liked it better when their were fewer sanctioning bodies. When all it took was just for two men to decide who's the champion of each weight division was.

It’s a bit of a grey area but officially it was when Pacquiao beat Bradley following Floyd’s retirement. A lot of people (me included) were not totally convinced Bradley was the #2 guy in the division although he was definitely top 3 at the time- so I suppose it’s not much different than this current scenario. www.cyberboxingzone.com/boxing/welter.htm That’s the lineage most sites display. This fight isn’t officially for the Lineal title either as essentially every respected ranking system has Crawford top 2. Which also means Jeff Horn held the same title as Robinson, Armstrong, Leonard, Duran etc. :lol1: Yeah, I don't particularly agree that Pacquiao vs Bradley should have been for the lineal title. Pacquiao was coming off a loss to Floyd and you had Brook and Thurman that were champs and there wasn't a consensus best fighter at that time. So to me the lineal title became vacant the day Floyd retired and it is still just that.
