Wlad is a great champion but he has one glaring weakness which his whole style and approach is built around protecting - he doesn't react well to being tagged. I wouldn't say he has a glass jaw, just that he doesn't handle being tagged too well.
Everybody knows about this ch1nk in Wlad's armour, including Wlad, but nobody has been able to exploit it since he changed his style under Manny Stewards guidance and became the great defensive boxer he is today.
But Fury is like no other opponent Wlad has faced. His size, reach, hand speed and unpredictability make him a dangerous proposition for a safety first boxer like Wlad.
Regarding Fury's supposed glass jaw - both knockdowns he suffered came as a result of being caught flush while off balance. Both times he got up on strong legs with a clear head and went on to win.
If he starts getting dropped and stopped as he has more fights - like Wlad - then you can start calling him chinny. But it hasn't happened yet.
Off balance? You are absolutely delusional. After the knockdown Pajkic caught him with another right hand close to the end of the round both times Fury was clearly hurt and by the end the round he holding on with a death grip. I also watched as Cunningham easily and consistently hit Fury with his jab. That is until Fury pushed Steve's head back with his forearm and knocked him out. I honestly believe Fury could have been and should have been disqualified. My prediction is Wlad easily takes him part with his jab alone.
Wach is very slow and ponderous compared to Fury. He is also predictable, something you could never accuse Tyson Fury of being!
I know there is a lot more to Wlad than jab and clinch. His footwork and timing are immaculate and he hits hard enough with his right hand to take Fury out if he caught him clean.
So I'm not saying that Fury WOULD beat Wlad, just that he would have a great chance of pulling it off, imo.
And at this stage of his career, pushing 40 and with the opportunity, at last, to unify the titles and retire as undisputed champ, I don't think Wlad is going to risk his legacy against a guy like Fury.
I cannot speak for the man but I seriously doubt that Wlad believes Fury to be much of a risk. And if Fury was only half as good as he believes he is he would be awesome.
Fury gets tagged quite a lot, but has never been ko'd in his whole career, amateur or pro. Wlad doesn't get tagged very often, but has been ko'd 3 times. Maybe you forgot about that?
And you spell hypocrisy like this, btw.
So why don't you go away and cry about that? And when you've dried your eyes, get yourself a dictionary and look up the definition of that word I just taught you how to spell. It's actually a very apt description of what you wrote just there.
Like I said, April fool's day has been and gone. I was giving my honest opinion on Fury vs Wlad. It may make you laugh - or cry - but it's what I genuinely believe and there is nothing hypocritical about it.
Are you seriously trying to compare a fighter with 64 fights that has fought the best that the heavyweight division has to offer to a fighter that has 22 fights and has fought next to no one? Do you also realize that Wlad has never been outright KO'ed. All three of his loses were TKO's and two of them he was severely gassed.
But for 5hits and giggles lets compare some numbers. Wlad was stopped in fights with fighters that had KO percentages of 73% Brewster and 67% Sanders. I believe it was Rahman that stated that Sanders was the hardest puncher he had ever faced. As far as Puritty is concerned he is only at 50%. However, he did have 27 stoppages in 31 fights. So with him he was either knocking his opponents out or he was being out boxed. But none of that matters because Wlad out boxed him for ten rounds and gassed. He took some heavy shots and his corner stepped in and the fight was stopped. Do these events ring a bell or did you happen to forget these facts? So how do these numbers compare to Fury?
Lets see, Fury has been dropped or severely hurt by fighters that have KO percentages of 28% 37% and 24%. And one of them happened to be a washed up old cruiserweight and the others are hardly worth mentioning. Honestly, Fury seems to get wobbled every time he gets hit with a clean shot regardless of how much power any particular fighter has. I honestly don't know how his fans cannot see this? So, my prognoses is that Wlad's supposed glass chin is surely overrated while Fury most definitely has one. One that, in my opinion, will be exposed sooner than later.
With that said. Your opinion might not be hypocritical but it sure is laffable. Oh 5hit did I spell that wrong?
Khan in 1 years time... 'I feel moving to 154 will give me more strength, I'll be hitting harder, my punch resistance will be greater and I'll retain all my speed, you know'.
Will this be after he is brutally stopped at 147?
I believe he may be the one that has stayed in the best shape outside the ring. In my opinion that says a lot about him in this fat infested era of heavyweight boxing.
As the British may say this article was a bit of rubbish and I actually felt nauseated while reading it. And as far as I concerned they also still give to much credit to Haye at cruiserweight. Please remember that Haye only fought in two title fights in the division and yes he unified the title but he was only a champion for two rounds over, I believe, a four month period. Hardly dominating in my opinion.
Wow, it really is true pictures really do speak a thousand words. That was some funny sh!t, and who said that Wlad has no sense of humor? LOL LMAO LOL LMAO LOL LAMO LOL
Have i mentioned Haye in this thread? I didn't mention him in the other Fury thread i commented on either, you have brought Haye up in both instances. You completely ignore the topic being discussed to fly off on a rant about me and Haye. I'm glad i left such an impression, unfortunately i don't remember anything about you that separates you from the other brainless drones on here.
Fury is garbage his speed, power and chin are no better than average. He got dropped by a feather fisted unknown a few fights ago and was pushed onto the back foot by a feather fisted, low work rate, counter puncher in his last fight. As for cherry picking, when is Fury going to fight someone that actually has decent power?
If Fury beats Steve and Arreola wins and they fight, I say Arreola wins easy. Well that is a in shape version wins easy.
Like I said, check around. You can find at least two threads with an easy search where this has been said but deleted. Fortunately it was already quoted. :D
It really makes no sense to me and I could find nothing about what you have stated. If you want to point me in the right direction I would like to read it. But than again it really isn't that important.
Post #4. I can provide more if need be. But you're right, it's not important. I just enjoy showing the double standards many have on this forum. Lol, call me petty, but it still doesn't change the fact.
What Post #4 the one on this thread? Wait? You wrote post #4. Does this mean that you are actually some kind of a secretly closeted Klitschko fan? Wow, who would ever thought that?
Most of the Klitschko nuthuggers have expressed this. Check out any Haye vs Wawrzyk thread.
Why would any Klitschko fan criticize Haye for choosing a certain opponent and than praise Pusvetkin for picking the same one? I would believe that most would have the same opinion about both of them choosing this clown. Or if anything even calling out Pusvetkin a little more for choosing him. After all he is a champion. I really didn't know if I should have laughed or cried when I typed that last statement.
Tyson beats an old cruiserweight and now he thinks he is super man? What next is he going to try to qualify for the Daytona 500? But I do have an idea on what he should try next. Fury should actually try to accomplish something of substance in boxing before he goes off half c0cked in another sport.
Charr is an idiot and a poser. Hope he shows the cheque and the amount to the media and is not just talking about charity.....In his last fight they played the German national anthem for him.......and he tells us that he is from Syria....
Actually Charr is from Lebanon and as he stated he has two sisters that live in Syria.
Why does Khan have only one eye on Alexander? Did Diaz hit Amir so hard that the other eye is going in a different direction then the one he has on Devon?
typical afircan american hype job, 99% of them are.
I don't hear anyone claiming Wilder is elite. He is also ranked 31st on Boxrec and 30th by the WBC. He isn't even ranked in the top 15 by either the IBF or WBO. He is ranked 9th by the WBA which is laughable and he has fought no one. So I am just curious as to why you believe that he is a hype job?
If Fury fights Vitali it will be a case of homicide by boxing. If he fights Wlad it will be a case of outright 1st degree murder. Why? Because Fury could be trained by Angelo Dundee, Eddie Futch, Cus D'Amato, Emanuel Stewart and you can even toss in Lou Duva for good measure and he would still suck.
Owen Beck is Wilder's best opponent to date and when he beat him it was Beck's 7th lose in a row with five stoppages within the distance. That is all anyone really needs to know about the "Bronze Bomber." And how anyone can take Fraudly even remotely seriously is mind boggling.
Some people just don't know their boxing. Vitali got BEATEN by a blown up SUPER MIDDLEWEIGHT - Chris Byrd. Byrd started his career at 169 pounds.. lol
So Fury got knocked down - big deal, he still won the fight, but i repeat - Vitali got beaten by a super middleweight..
How did Byrd beat Vitali? By hanging on his arm so he could help blow out his shoulder? And how anyone can watch Fury fight and believe that he is an elite heavyweight is beyond explanation.
You reckon Steve might beat him?
My assessment of Tyson Fury.
Up until a couple of days ago I had only watched some highlights of Fury, and the only fight that I had actually watched was when he fought Chisora. I honestly don't remember much of that fight, I guess I lost interest when Chisora showed up impersonating a fat cow. Although I don't think much of Fury I thought I would be fair and watch his fights.
I watched three of Fury's fights on You Tube. For some reason I could not find the Kevin "No worries I am Only Here to Get Paid" Johnson fight. But that doesn't mater simply because in my opinion he cannot be taken seriously as a fighter.
The fights that I did watch were Fury against Rogan, Firtha and Pajkic. After watching those fights I have to wonder how anyone can take Fury seriously.
Don't get me wrong because it is not like he is a complete bum. Because he does have a nice jab and seems to have fast hands for a big man. But, at times he was being dominated and left wondering around on queer street by a couple of god awful fighters. And the ref that stopped the Firtha fight must have had a bet in on that fight.
As far as the Cunningham fight is concerned. I will not go as far as to say that Steve will win. Simply because of the weight difference as well as lack of power and his age. However, I will say that I don't see him having any problem hitting Fury. Only because I am positive that he has more talent than Firtha, Rogan and Pajkic combined. He is also just as tall as two of them. And even at heavyweight Steve may have as much power as Pajkic and Fury's power in my opinion is overrated. With that said I believe that Steve has a decent chance against Fury
Honestly I was shocked I really was. As I have already said I am not sure what will happen on 4-20. But what I will say is that Haye or any other close to an elite heavyweight should have an easy days work with Fury. And until Fury's exploits in the ring actually catch up to what comes out of his mouth I don't believe that he should be taken so seriously.
Are they sure it is not a one fight plan to get Pulev? Because I believe that is where Fury's plan will end and that if Steve doesn't derail him first.
No, what I'm saying is that if these guys were good enough to fight the heavyweight champion of the world, then surely a top 5 rated guy is good enough to fight David Haye.
Couldn't care less about how many times he's retired, even though it's just one. I don't see how that falls into this conversation?
I have no problem with Haye and Fury fighting each other but who has Fury ranked in the top 5? My point with Haye was that you want us to believe that fighters are somehow ducking him. When he was retired or threatens to retire when he does not get his way and fights once a year. So, I will ask again who is ducking a fighter that fights an average of one fight a year? A fighter who also has had a habit of pulling out of fights in the not so distant past.
Yeah, like Povetkin sucks too. And so did Wach, Pianeta, Thompson, Peter & Mormeck. Want to go further?
I'm not saying he's being ducked as in "he's scared he'll get GTFO", but you have to realize that making a fight with a ranked opponent is not the simplest thing in the world. As soon as Haye comes knocking on the door, opponents see two things 1) that he hasn't got a belt and 2) that he's a massive star in the uk.
Now, that'll make any fighter push up the price for himself because of the high-risk, low reward - hence some are pricing themselves out. Look at Fury for instance. He's getting 50/50 for a fight when he's never ever in his dreams been a PPV attraction. Just shows you the length Haye will have to go to in order to secure a fight.
So, your point is that Fury sucks as much as Wach, Pianeta and Mormeck so he should also get a shot at Wlad? As for Thompson and Peter if you claim that Fury is a legit top 10 fighters than so were those two. I actually thought that Pusvetkin was a decent fighter he is just s Pus. As for Haye how many times has he retired? He also, by his own choice, fights once a year so how many doors can he possibly be knocking on?
