Amir Khan is ready to move up a weight divison and go straight into a world title fight.
Khan is planning to climb into the ring with IBF welterweight champion Devon Alexander in America in December.
It’s a superfight that will represent a real gamble for the 26-year-old Bolton fighter, who is fed-up with trying to make the weight in his 140lbs light-welterweight division.
The former unified light-welterweight world champion is now ready to move up to the 147lbs weight category which will open up several big-fight opportunities.
Alexander is odds-on to win his next fight against Brit Lee Purdy next month – and Khan will be waiting in the wings.

Good fight. I can see Alexander catching Khan with a counter and knocking him out, but it's an intriguing match-up and Khan will make it an exciting fight. Hopefully it happens.
Tonyu can I include saying that Amir is correct he only has one eye on Devon Alexander. He basically predicted his fight already. One eye only since the other one it will be a black eye which I am sure Devon would of knocked him out on the 3rd round. To name Kell Brook for one his future bouts, would be a media hipe. Kell Brook is too talk for him. He knows fromt he past that fighting contenders as talk as him or talk, he will knocked out. (for example, Prescott, Peterson and Garcia). If he wants second chance to the belt he should at least give his other fighters 2nd chance. Like McClusky who Amir supposingly accidentally head butted him didn't give me a 2nd chance. Funny looking in the past and present fights I never see him using his head. He knew McClusky would knock him out sooner or later. One good thing I could only say for Amir is that he was a silver medalist in the Olympic but wait who was the gold medalist? Oh yah the retiring Cuban fighter. Funny he goes after fighters who has passed their prime time. Amir" I'll hand pick my fights" Khan. Talk about a disgrace to the boxing world and worse of all to the British boxing world. There are more talented fighters in the UK that Sky can promote. Remember Amir's saying its not my fault that I got knocked out, it's my trainer. hahahaha...what waste of time.
Alexander by KO. With a left hook from his southpaw stance.
:lol1: you joking right?!?
AK would beat Devon imo....I dont care how bad Khan got dropped or looked in recent fights....my opinion is be based more off of what Devon DOESN'T do than what Khan can do...style vs style favors Khan imo....I would be shocked if Devon won more than 3 rounds....real talk!!
I don't like this fight, itwill not be entertaining if Alexander has anything to do about it. Devon is top 5 least entertaining boxers out there at this moment.
khan finding a way to duck matthysse!!!!!
Khan isn't even scheduled to fight Lucas
Garcia was set to fight the winner between Petterson and Matthysse
Not sure anymore, there is talk of him moving up already
he better think about that instead of Floyd
forget that ridiculous ranking the WBC gave him
the twat can't punch, so it's a safe fight for Khan
would still like to see him try rematching Garcia before going up though
but Lucas killing Garcia first is a much sweeter thought
Khan's chin won't last at WW, but a guy like the twat is beatable for him
The intrigue with Khan
Here is a perfect example of how Amir Khan is must see TV. We have been bored to death with Devon Alexander but with Khan being matched with him suddenly there is excitement. The possibility of pit pat Alexander possibly shaking up Khan. The possibility of Khan using his fast hands to beat Devon to the punch and take the IBF strap from him. Either way it would make for a can't miss must see fight. Devon hasn't been must see tv since the bradley fight, and then we found at that wasn't must see after all. Shades of it burns still haunt Alexander's dreams.
I actually think Khan can win this. Devon is not really a KO puncher, aside from that Urango fight. At WW he does not seem to be a big puncher at all either. Devon got schooled and outboxed by Matthysse and Kotelnik so I think Khan can outbox and beat Devon. Devon is flatfooted as hell and has to set each time he punches (with that utterly annoying grunt I might add). If Khan stays on the outside and boxes, he beats Devon handily.
