I'm not sold, he did pretty well against Alexander and Malignaggi two fighters with many deficiencies, neither of which could punch, counter well or fight on the inside. Even in how he dismantled both I saw holes in his defense, so I'm not sold, don't understand how everyone else is. When you got a fighter like Porter, one who operates in that kind of a style, isn't it logical to see how well he knows how to pick his spots and isn't he suppose to show that against a good counter puncher with good power?
I agree he looks pretty limited to me & he's very sloppy
probly wont get many responses from pac fans. I just laughed when i heard that excuse as if it doesn't happen in just about every southpaw vs an orthodox fight.
1. Pac ain't dropping sh*t. And why did he say talk to Al haymon in that very recent interview? And in that video he said he was ready to sign the contract today, he didn't say sh*t about the suit.
2. Yes I would because if I knew he had a open and shut case against me that is gonna cost me millions and that I am very likely going to jail soon and I only have 2-3 more years of being competitive (but will most likely be in jail) than i would definatly look for a career high payday now
3. My point was if Pac looked "bad" as floyd and jeff said, why still demand OSDT (which isn't really OSDT) because its doesn't make any sense and makes them all look like dumbasses.
Stay ducking floyd - rude jude aka floyds daddy
Pac will likely drop the suit because from what I've seen it's shaky at best. Even though he's taken a hit since the PED stuff it's hard to say how it's hurt him. He's still making millions off his fights & has even more endorsements. I believe Nike is talking about doing a whole Pac-Man line. All of the cases against Floyd will be dropped or changed to a lesser offenses that will put him in no danger of jail time. He brings a **** load of money into Vegas, doubt they are in a rush to put an end to that. Honestly at this point they can't drop the OST for any reason. Dont be foolish, we've all heard Floyd give a possible reason for Manny's bad night against Marquez.
If manny looked "bad" than how come al haymon won't pick up his damn phone?
How come when Koncz told floyd fight to his face that Pac wanted to fight he says "I ain't signing sh*t until the defamation case is settled"?
How come still the need for OSDT which isn't really OSDT because it isn't year round?
stay ducking floyd - rude jude
1- There's nothing for him to pick up the phone talk about until the suit is dropped
2- Really? Would you enter into a business deal w/ someone who is taking you to court? Get real
3- Supposedly Pacquiao agreed to take the tests so that's a dead issue

Pac will likely drop the case, it's shaky at best. Sure he's taken a hit since the PED stuff, but he still rakes in millions when he fights & has more endorsements now. Nike is talking about launching a whole Pac-Man line. The cases against Floyd will be dropped (1 or 2 already have) & any that aren't will be made lesser offenses so he'll be in no danger of jail time. Besides, he brings in a **** load of money to Vegas, doubt there in a rush to end that. Honestly they cant drop the testing now at this point, besides Manny agreed right? Your arguing a mute point there.
IDK. Cotto still tired down the stretch from all the movement he used & Margarito was still able to close the distance & get to him. I think his work rate will wear Cotto down again. Cotto hit him with everything but the kitchen sink & still didn't deter him.
That is of course if his eye is not an issue.
Well.... Judah
- is getting old
- hasn't looked great in a very long time
- when's the last time he won a fight?
- he's a former champion.
- Mayweather already beat him.
Before losing to Khan, his last loss was in 08 to Clottey. I think he won like 5 strait fights.
Floyd will still throw 35-40 punches per round. Once he figures Pac's rhythym out, he'll have plenty of chances to land shots w/ Pacqiauo going in & out. The problem for Pac is he would have to be much more accurate when he flurries. I think Floyd spanks him with a few close rounds here & there. Pac will eat a healthy serving of straight right hands if they do fight.
Be a Filipino lmao. I scored the fight a draw. If Marquez did anything in round 12, may have been a different outcome, but truth is, they were never going to let Pacquiao lose this fight.
Given the fact that Bob Arum has a Harvard Law Degree, he hired one hell of a stuttering idiot to represent him and Margarito in this licensing case!
LMAO. You would def. think Arum would have better representation here.
More excuses. In the build up they claimed it was their best camp, they hadn't seen him train like that. Roach even said he had more fire, more edge coming into this fight, smething he hadn't seen in a long time & that's why he predicted tey would walk right through Marquez. I remember Ariza saying he prepared for this like nothing else in his entire life. Now Team Pac is back tracking more than the moon walk.
Floyd doesn't have to. Manny isn't that hard to hit. and Yes, Floyd would slightly throw more punches than he usually do. At the end of the day, he can potshots Manny for every rounds, and he'd still end up landing just as many punches as JMM landed on Manny while taking lesser punishment in return.
This is on point.
Yes it's illegal. Which is why they are filming it to show people how to tape the hands properly. Roach wants to be caught.
Exactly the type of answer I was looking for. I'm asking because there was some complaint about the way Roach wrapped Pac's hands before the Margarito fight, but Roach complained about a very similar tactic before the Oscar fight.
If Floyd wants to make it a real easy fight, he can sit on the outside & pot shot him all night, mix in a few jabs & straight right hands, I just dont see how Manny can beat him.
what makes yall think Pacq fights Mayw in the same manner as Mosley and Marq?? Yes he'll use his feet and angles!! but he very well could call Mayw at into the middle of the ring, instead of chasing him all night. waiting to be countered like Marq did.. atleast Marq counter with some aggressive combos. something Mayw doesnt do. Pacq still outworks Mayw win or lose.. If Pacq calls Mayw out in the center of the ring and Mayw doesnt come(being the naturally bigger guy) MAY make himself look like a coward to the judges and crowd! either way REALLY hope we all get to see it..
This is a terrible analysis. As they get closer to each other Pacquiao will be in Floyd's range long before Floyd is in his. Pac/Marquez 3 showed that Pac & Roach didn't have a plan B cause they are so used to dictating the action & blowing guys away. When his repetitive in & out movement doesn't work where does Pac go? Trying to counter Floyd the way he tried against Marquez? Just like you said I just want them to make the damn fight.
IDK. Cotto still tired down the stretch from all the movement he used & Margarito was still able to close the distance & get to him. I think his work rate will wear Cotto down again. Cotto hit him with everything but the kitchen sink & still didn't deter him.
I dont think Cotto has that type of perfrmace in him. He hit Margarito with everything he had Margarito was smiling at him. Mosley turned that frwn upside down over 9 brutal rounds.
He couldn't land it on Marquez, so what makes you think he'll land it on Floyd? Floyd's bigger, stronger, faster, & better than Marquez. He's a better counter puncher & hiis defense is muc better.
That's my point I've heard many different things about the gauze in between the fingers. Roach is the one who claims twisting the gauze like that can possibly injure one of his fighters, but then he does it himself. I've personally had my hands wrapped w/ it twisted & w/out it being twisted.
Judah was competitive with Floyd early because he boxed with him, something I dont think Pac can do. Zab was actually fighting a good fight, maybe his best in the early rounds & he had a little defense back then too. Pacquiao went life & death with Marquez 3 times (including his 4 knock downs) & Marquez was of no consequence against Floyd 2 lbs or not.
Sure he could have fought anybody else but he wouldnt have a chance to win he has a small chance here but against
Kirkland he gets destroyed
Canelo Makes him wear makeup with them pluked eyebrows
K9 likely knocks him out
@154 this is the highest paying fight for Cotto thats gives him the slightest bit of a chance in other words he had to take this fight
I agree Kirkland ko's Cotto, Canelo wears im down & stops him mid-to late, but IDK about K9, might be a good scrap.
10 oz is s.o.p. for 154. Everlast MX is supposed to the be the equivalent to the 8 oz Reyes in the fact that it is the "puncer's" glove. Shouldn't make much of a difference imo. But if Cotto couldn't hurt him @ 47, I doubt he'll be able to @ 54 either.
Great post and nice analysis.
IMO Manny made this fight harder than it had to be. Also, Manny showed Marquez way too much respect. I said it after the fight and I'll say it again, If Manny would have used the same effective aggression he used in the Cotto fight, there would be no controversy and he would have won decisively.
I dont think it was to much respect but I agree w/ your analysis. Pac was tooo worried about being countered to go all out. He put the muzzle on himself.
Looks like the wrap is broken & a black thread is caught in the snag. The kicker is the dye in the same spot from post Cotto fight & pre Mosley fight. Obviously Tony never put gloves on before the Mosley fight since his hands were wrapped 3 different times, so he has no explaination for the dye being there other than it is the same damn wrap. Hopefully everything is sorted out soon & they get put on a good clean fight.
Welcome buddy... That's my point.. I'm not saying Calderon wouldn't beat me on point but what I am saying is that he wouldn't knock me out and I said Malignaggi wouldn't spark me clean out in 1 shot either... This is my point..
I doubt you get sparked on one punch from either, but the difference in speed, skill, & technique would play a major role. While your trying to land they would opportunities to hit you w/ shots you don't see coming or expect to be hit w/. Eventually you'd be stopped by either imo, but who knows, you could be a good fighter. Show us.
