Spence. We're talking about a physically debilitating and brutal beating.
Bud. We're talking being outboxed and potentially stopped.
Manny has been running from Errol for a reason.
IDK, Spence didn't exactly bust up Mikey. Pac certainly didn't look like he wanted any part of Spence when they forced him into the ring post-fight with Mikey, but I think that Pac goes the distance with Spence. Spence wins, but not by KO. Crawford tears him up and hurts him en route to a ref stoppage.
I don’t understand this pacquioa over floyds career thing. Pacquiao is the political answer you will give to look righteous and morale but I think behind closed doors even pacquiao fans would choose floyds career.
Pacquiao was fighting a ton of rematches and fighting the likes of Jeff horn, Chris algerie,a sliding down the hill Brandon Rios. He also fought Many opponents AFTER floyd did like delahoya, mosley, and hatton. But the people will tell you that floyd only fought people out of their prime when manny was getting them after him.
He fought Marquez 4x and never got a clear win and got tucked in for bed while Marquez didn’t win a single round against Floyd.
The only credible Opponents manny fought in the last 10 years was Keith thurman and a out of prime Floyd.
And finally let’s be honest here floyd made a ton of more money than pacquioa did so I’m sure many will choose his career off that fact alone.
Lots of fair points here.
Norris was the works. Would've cut Canelo to shreds
No way in hell. That chin was just too fragile. Canelo weathers an early storm, but KTFOs Norris in 5.
Cortez would not allow Hatton to fight his fight on the inside. Any time he got Floyd near the ropes or within arms length he separated them. Cortez was Floyd's guardian angel. That said, if Ricky could not KO him there was no way he was winning a decision from the judges.
I always felt that Joe Cortez was one of the most corrupt referees. He is the definition of a celebrity's ref.
ODLH was a top shelf elite fighter in the late 90's and early 2000s. His popularity was at or near Pac and Mayweather levels, but, surprisingly, he often did not get the benefit of the doubt in close fights. He definitely should have gotten the nod against Trinidad, had a case in the second Mosley fight and the Mayweather fight. Lots of folks like to pretend that Mayweather schooled Oscar like he did Canelo, but that's complete B.S. Oscar was winning that fight, but suffered a brain bleed and stopped throwing the one and only punch he needed to win.
Mike Tyson resume suggests he would win. There aren't nearly enough good names on Tyson Fury's resume to even suggest that he could be remotely competitive with Mike Tyson.
Sure he has physical and athletic ability but one is going to have to have skill and power in order to defeat Iron Mike. Prime for prime Mike would be the most fundamentally sound, scientific and complete boxer that Fury has ever faced.
Tyson Fury needs to start making some title defenses first before we start comparing him to all-time greats. We all need to slow down on this coronation of Tyson Fury as one of the greatest fighters of all time nonsense.
Wow, my precise thoughts.
Guys like Tua and Mike Tyson were just too small to deal with big world class heavyweights. Mike would have lost the same way Tua lost to Lennox.
I knew David Tua. David Tua was no Iron Mike Tyson
Interesting, but they say Usyk is too small for modern hw division.
But still, they believe small hw-s from the past, like Mike, would finish Fury in a few rounds. Strange folks.
If Usyk fought anything like prime Iron Mike Tyson, nobody would be writing him off as a HW.
“I definitely couldn’t have given her more than five rounds (a draw)”, Taylor says, “so for people to say it was a disgraceful decision or it was a robbery is a disgrace in itself.
“I felt like I deserved to win the fight even though it was very close. I wanted this rematch. At the end of the day, I want to be involved in the biggest fights and the fights that people are interested in. This is a huge fight for me and for Persoon. It’s a huge fight for the sport.”
taylors words
Right, those are her words. What did you expect to hear from her? Now go youtube that fight (or watch on DAZN) and take a look at KT's face at the end of the fight. That poor girl looked like somebody just shat her out into the world. She didn't know where she was.
I'm telling you now, watch the ref for this rematch. By order of Eddie Hearn, the ref will be the most active person in the ring. Katie will be protected.
Is this some kind of bad joke?
If you follow the social media beef between these two, you will probably be pining for Bud to go in there and beat that ass. GRJ is mentally deranged. I have never in my life observed someone with a bigger chip on their shoulder than Gary Russel Jr. He is the most insecure, ****-talkingest dude I've ever seen. Someone needs to beat that ass again. That Loma beat down has worn off. This guy once again thinks he's Superman.
Katie will whip that ass this time. I had her winning the first one, by a round. Persoon looked like a superwelter the first time. I'm sure Taylor has been working on strength and punching power this time.
War Katie!:boxing:
Neither Eddie Hearn nor Ross Enamait (the trainer) nor KT herself thinks she won that fight. You are the only person on the planet who thinks KT won that fight.
It doesn't matter how much its shoved down my throat, I'll never get into it.
Sorry ladies.
I used to share that opinion, probably until I saw Seniesa Estrada v Marlen Esparza last Fall. Bad-ass fight, 10 rd (3-minute rds) championship between two skilled fighters who genuinely disliked each other turned into the best fight of the night (Canelo v Kovalev card). I also thought the K. Taylor v D. Persoon was a fun scrap. I get that there are plenty of **** fights (e.g. Braekhus v. MsCaskill), but there are some quality female fighters these days, so I don't write the girls off anymore.
Easy? Prime Martinez still had his flaws man. Elite fighters like Canelo and GGG would have at least gave him a scare or two.
Yeah. I was a big Maravilla fan, but I have to admit that he sort of fought in predictable patterns. Smart technicians like Canelo and GGG would likely have been able to sort him out. Canelo's team would have had him pretty well figured out before they ever stepped into the ring.
If Bowe fought Lewis right after he fought Holyfield the first time, he probably would have been the favorite. Bowe's chin in the pro level definitely checked out and his inside game for a HW was unreal. Lewis proved to be the greater fighter, but at Bowe's best and pre-prime Lewis? Would have been a great, competitive bout. Missed opportunity for Bowe there.
Bowe was afraid of Lewis. He pissed himself at the mere thought of confronting him in the ring. End of story.
I guess I am a "hater" but they both try too hard & just act like goofballs.
Charisma means something different. You can be a softly spoken person with tons of charisma.
Agree with that.
Ahh yeah my biggest mistake. I always calculate these things by default from a Florida state of mind. We don't have state tax. I forgot the rest of you suckers pay state tax and consider cars property and pay property tax on em.
We don’t pay any property tax in Louisiana other than real estate taxes, but I know what you mean. I grew up in CT and they tax annually damn near everything you buy.
Wilder lost but Fury cheated. It's over. The most that can happen is someone with a magnifying glass in their hands watches Fury when he gloves up for the rubber match. If Fury wins again with zero assist, I'll give him full credit. For me, the combination of Wilder's dumbass costume and Fury's hacked gloves, were too much for Wilder to overcome.
We know Wilder wasn't going to win a boxing match. We also know Wilder can end it at any time after losing 11 rds...
Good god. That whole "glove gate" b.s. was from the first fight. Can't you sort anything out? Do facts, timeline, anything matter to you when you form your jacked opinions.?
I really hope Deontay doesn't subscribe to such foolishness. Just gotta look in the mirror, make adjustments, and try again. Hold your head up high, no shame in losing, only shame in excuses.
You hope in vain.
It would actually be about $370k in taxes.
Millionaires are in the 37% tax bracket.
It's worth noting the Government takes the biggest slice of the pie from the fighter. They take more than the trainer, the manager, and the promoter get.
Your $370K calculation is off -at least in the U.S. We have what's called a progressive tax system which means that all taxpayers pay the same rates on the same levels of taxable income. Those in the top tax bracket would not pay 37% for their entire $1 million earned. They would only pay 37% for the portion of their income that puts them in the highest bracket. Specifically, this means money over $510,300 (or $612,350 for married couples filing jointly). The money less than that threshold would be taxed at the rates corresponding to the lower tax brackets. Bottom line is their federal taxes would be substantially lower than your $370 calculation. Not sure what state/local tax burden there might be though.
he was recognized as lineal champ after Chagaev as they were no 1 and no 2 fighting ( Vitali was retired at the time) so a new lineage was formed .
More evidence of why people should really stop talking about the lineal championship (in any weight class). It's not a real thing, folks.
I’m talking about wins against proper middleweights not blown up welterweights.
GGG beat: Jacobs, Derevyanchenko, Lemieux, Murray, Geale, Macklin, Rubio, Stevens, Monroe and some others.
Hopkins beat: Holmes, Allen, Joppy, Jackson, Johnson, Vanderpool, Hakkar and some others.
Who beat the better middleweights?
GGG clearly beat all of those MWs and more. GGG lost to Deryvanchenko.
Lmao you think Wlad would lose to Foreman you are insane.
What did prime Foreman do? Beat up a fat one eyed midget frazier, and wail away at Ali on the ropes for round after round before gassing out and getting ktfo
Klitschko is a 6'6" 247lb supreme athlete with one of the best jabs and most powerful right hands in the history of the sport.
People need to stop glorifying these old time dudes from back in the day, the sport has moved on, Foreman today would look very average.
omg, a Wlad fan.
