alright ive decided to box recently and its against my parents will so i have no support on how to get started or what to do. ive looked at local boxing gyms online and i have a job and car so getting equipment and getting there will be no problem. what i need to know is what do i do to get started? i workout already and am in good shape so what i need to do is get some guidance really and be taught how to box. should i get a trainer? i dont want to just show up to the gym clueless and look like a dumbass. i have no idea on what to do so any help would be greatly appreciated.
If you are in the United States, check and see if there is a PAL (Police Athletic League) in your neighborhood or a city close to you. Almost every major city has PAL.
If this fight does take place someday and by some miracle Tarver wins, does anyone really believe that Tarver will be looked at as a top heavywieght???? He's talking mad shit. He believes a win over Tyson will make him #1 p4p. I think he would have to beat more than just Mike to achieve anything. I was browsing boxrec.com and I saw that Roy Jones is fighting none other than Bernard Hopkins?!?! wat the hell??!! is this some kind of mistake? Hopkins is a middleweight and Roy is a light heavy so theres like big difference in weight.. wat is this all about??

Leonard vs Duran 2 was a huge disappointment. Duran wanted another 'Brawl In Montreal' in the rematch and Leonard said 'No Thank You'. The only time Leonard stood flatfooted in the rematch was inbetween rounds. Sure Duran was frustrated, you could see that during the fight. He knew if Leonard continued to run he was gonna loose a decision. Once the show boating started he said 'fuck this' and quit.

My vote would be for the one and only Thomas Hearns. Leonard you could say was faster, but Hearns had one of the quickest jab's I've ever seen. Match that up with the best right hand in the history of boxing and you have a great, great fighter.

He is one of the most overated fighters I have seen in a while. He was a product of HBO, desperate for a new face at the time. Winky Wright exposed him and Trinidad finished him off. De la hoya beat the shell of Vargas, who still put up a decent fight, despite the toll of the beatings he suffered at the hands of Trinidad and Wright. Even the powder puff Rivera knocked vargas down before Vargas fought De la hoya.
I'm looking forward to the Mosley beating the piss out of Vargas. Should be a great fight. Mosley has MUCH, MUCH more too offer then Vargas.
