You are right Gavilan. I would just add that I can think of no other boxer who displayed the kind of blatant disdain for the fans that Roid did. How many great match-ups were we denied seeing because of his "contractual" tactics. He ducked so many of his contemporaries that had a good chance of marring his bogus "record". Hell, ANYBODY can look like a HOFer fighting cab drivers. and yet you duck letting me take all your points ....so just give me 5 bil then :p

I have very low expectations for this fight, so if anything happens, it will be a plus. Hopkins can only fight for 6 rounds so he waits for the last 6, and RJJ can go about 9 but it's the first 9. It's anybodies fight after the 9th round!

HBO defined Roy's career. He was nothing more then a gimmick...a circus act. Some act..a gold medal(in reality) a great athlete,a excellent fighter with wins over GREAT fighters (no matter how YOU want to rationalize them).He's done now though but he his day he was THE guy. You want me to talk about Roy's career. Bernard Hopkins. The "Executioner" was Roy's first real test. As with every fighter whose talent he respects, Roy went into a shell and beat Hopkins in one of the most unexciting & stultifying middleweight title bouts ever. James Toney. The Toney who showed up that night had seemingly dug himself out from under a mountain of fast food containers. He barely slipped off the feed bag long enough to get in the ring. Faced with a Toney who was quite & very ready to be blown away, Roy did just enough to win. No more. No less. The first fight with Montell Griffin. I watched a befuddled Roy get smacked around more than he ever has to the point where he was flinching off of feints! By the time he finally got to Griffin he was so out of his element he fouled out about as stupidly as a fighter can. Granted, in the 2nd fight Roy FINALLY (and for the only time in his career), fought with the stones you would expect from a great fighter. His fight with a 39 year old, totally shot, Mike McCallum. Roy froze and got extended 12 rounds by a fighter he should have gotten out of there within 5 rounds. I say a prime McCallum would have taken him that night. And again, he was flinching off of feints. If Roy had his head on straight he DEFINITELY has the potential to be one of, if not the greatest - but he didn't. In boxing, strength of mind, unbending will to win is what makes a great fighter. In my mind Roy, despite being the complete physical package, is a boxing hypocrite. He endlessly talks the talk, but he certainly doesn't walk the walk. He's got great moves but he's all style & absolutely no substance. HBO defined Roy's career. I can't imagine how boring this fight will fucking be! In Jones last fight, he was hardly throwing, he was just trying to survive! He was only punching when Tarver got on him... We all know how Hopkins doesn't have a high punch output and runs around for the first few rounds.... What you guys think? This fight is an absolute joke. Someone shoot the promotor! They are a combined 0- 5 in their last five (5) fights??? Grass grows faster than either one of these guys can punch.............
