AJ is fighting like he was told he can go all out to the body but tap or purposefully miss the head, OR if there’s an obvious opening to the head, don’t take it.
This looks embarrassingly rigged. AJ is absolutely pulling his punches and he isn’t going after openings like he usually does. Now idk what Paul is doing falling every 5 seconds to get time outs. This is a very weird, rigged fight. Idk what angle they’re going for here. But this is definitely a fake fight.
In what world or sport would somebody who's champion for 9 years in a major sanctioning body with 20 defenses of their title.
And was named the #1 person in their sport (Ring P4P #1) would not be in the Hall of Fame
Matter of fact, can you name ONE Ring Magazine P4P #1 fighter who's NOT in the Hall of Fame
He's also one of the greatest amateur fighters of all-time as well.
You forgot that also goes into the consideration
First off, nobody else did.
Second off, you should've told Sergio Martinez, Peter Quillin, Danny Jacobs, Miguel Cotto, & Canelo to fight the prime version of GGG, but they were all too pxssy & avoided him until he was 35 years old
First, in other sports we don’t to deal with having 7 different titles.
The LA Dodgers can’t just choose to play the World Series against the Pittsburgh Pirates. And because the Toronto Blue Jays were in line to face them in the WS, they couldn’t just vacate the one of their hypothetically many championships and instead face the Tampa Bay Rays.
You’re talking about championships and defenses like they actually mean anything anymore. They don’t mean a damn thing and you know it. And if we were in person, I doubt you could argue that with a straight face.
Championships in boxing are a complete joke and they have been for a very long time. A big money grab. Cherrypicking and ducking isn’t something you see in other North American sports. Every team has a schedule that they have to abide by and they can’t just decide who they want to play at the Super Bowl like pro boxers.
It’s way different and you know it. GGG calling out Chavez Jr at 168, then telling Ward he needs to come down to 164lbs is one of the many jokes of boxing. And no, it’s not only him, he was just playing the game like every other player in it.
In other sports you actually have to go through a gauntlet of elite teams in the playoffs, the best of the best. In boxing anyone can just feast on any level of fighter and just hide behind the whole “Oh he was champion”, “Oh he was ranked in the top 10 of one of the 4 different money hungry sanctioning bodies”. It’s all a joke.
You can’t compare someone like GGG and his resume to someone like Oleksandr Usyk and his resume. And yet they will share the same honors when it’s clear that one guy had a way tougher road to getting there. An actual HOF road.
Golovkin has to get in due to who’s already in. He looks like a superstar compared to some of the HOF boxers. His track record vs elite fighters is almost non existent. He also had no issues going up to 168 for Chavez, but not for Andre Ward. He wanted to bring down Ward to 165lbs basically so that Ward can say no and give GGG an off-ramp.
I’m not denying he belongs in the IBHOF, i’m saying if the IBHOF took itself as serious as other sport’s HOF, he and several other boxers wouldn’t be in.
But in the version of the HOF that exists in boxing, he absolutely belongs there, no questions asked. His resume makes him look like Sugar Ray Robinson in comparison to some HOF inductees. He’s 1st ballot in this intentionally watered down HOF. I mean there HOF event every single year. It’s not some highly prestigious honor that happens every 3-4 years.
It is important to remember that it is a Hall of FAME, not a Hall of Talent. I think Butterbean, Logan Paul, and Charlie Z are easily famous enough to make the cut. Put them in so the real boxing fans can completely stop caring.
It’s true, but boxing is the only sport where that’s the case. If the IBHOF was like other’s sport’s HOF, meaning how strict it is, boxers would have show a proven track record against elite fighters. And in that case many IBHOF inductees would be considered to be in the Hall of Very Good.
Thanks buddy
Did you really need to make a thread about something so noticeable or recognizable as this ???
Let me ask you , what else makes the WORLD go round besides money ???
Lmfao just wow
A lot of obnoxious fans think it’s fear. So it’s not as obvious as you say, to EVERYBODY. You might find it obvious, but a lot of fans will claim a fighter won’t fight someone no matter the amount of money involved.
A couple years ago... "Thurman has this guy shook"
Now.... "Spence has Thurman shook"
A couple of years from now... "This guy has Spence shook"
That's how it works. Happened with Martinez at 160 as well (preceded by Golovkin). The cycle of throwing a fighter under the bus when a new fighter emerges. One of the most popular behaviors among boxing fans.
He would have to beat GGG at a catchweight or 168 and beat kovalev and pascal and stevenson.
But he wont fight kovalev ,he is avoiding kovalev and big money fights at 175
by fighting d class fighters (smith) in oakland as usual. Guy wont challenge himself.
Smith was a fight to see where he is after 19 months. An active Kovalev fought two back to back C fighters, Agnew and Caparello, Caparello knocked him down. So I don't even know what you're getting at.
Golovkin won't get exposed like that, he will never fight some one of the level that Calzaghe was. There is no one at 160 that is at that level, and 154lbs has smaller fighters, they won't keep GGG at bay unless they have crazy power and speed. The only time we can see GGG get exposed like that is only if he fights at 168. Several guys there could be is Calzaghe.
My examples were used to prove my point, which I have done very clearly.
Btw just looking through some of your posting history, you are beyond logic and reason. Just a a blinded fanboy.
Your examples were used to refute and then you tried to turn it into a "Why are you mentioning them for" type of thing, when you threw the rock first. Makes no sense why you would get mad when you're examples are mentioned to ridicule your logic. Why even start a thread like this.
I've seen a lot of people question why Golovkin doesn't/hasn't moved up in weight so far in his career, without realising he fought at junior welterweight (141) and welterweight (152) at the start of his amateur career, so he has moved up in weight. Not as much as the likes of Pac and Floyd, but he has moved up almost 20 pounds since he started boxing.
Lol...with that..well, Floyd has moved up 100lbs since he started boxing :lol1:
Already moved up 4 weight classes doe, no need for 168 doe, too little doe, 141 doe.
who do you consider elite? you think calzaghe was elite when lacy fought him even though calzaghe's resume was worse than ggg's is right now. i don't know if you consider lacy elite with his one win over a top 10 guy but if he is elite then so are lee and lemiuex.
Let's not exaggerate. Old Eubank by himself is better than all wins on GGG's resume put together. Add the rest of the GGG-level opponents like Reid, Sheika, Salem, Veit, and he surpasses GGG's resume before the Lacy win. Finish up adding Kessler, Bika, Hopkins and past prime Jones, not even close. GGG won't ever reach a resume like that at this pace.
Who in the middle weight division would you consider elite? And dont say Cotto, Cotto is a joke and it's known. He can't take punishment and that is exactly what Golovkin would bring. Cotto folds to punishment, a fact and seen twice.
That's the point. Leave the the garbage division. Either drain himself to campaign at 154 or go up the mere 8lbs to 168.
Cotto is too small, not that he won't take punishment.
You are incredibly stupid. This thread has nothing to do with Floyd, I've already acknowledged Golovkin hasn't moved up in weight as much as Floyd.
Amazing. Do you realise how disturbing and weird your obsession with Floyd is?
:lol1::lol1:
OP: GGG small, moved up just like Floyd.
Replies: Floyd 106lbs am.
OP: Thread has nothing to do with Floyd doe.
:lol1:
Opening Post, mentions Floyd:
I've seen a lot of people question why Golovkin doesn't/hasn't moved up in weight so far in his career, without realising he fought at junior welterweight (141) and welterweight (152) at the start of his amateur career, so he has moved up in weight. Not as much as the likes of Pac and Floyd, but he has moved up almost 20 pounds since he started boxing.
Questions why one would reply with a Floyd mention in their post to his opening post:
Did you even read my post? I don't know what this thread has to do with Floyd or why you're even mentioning him. I already said Golovkin hasn't moved up as much as Pac or Floyd.
You're blinded by agenda and have completely missed my point. I didn't say he shouldn't move up.
Golovkin has moved up a lot. He was only 7 lbs. 4 ozs. at birth.
:lol1: :lol1:
Dude, from Fetus 'til Middleweight, Golovkin has pretty much gone up 157lbs. He moved up the same amount of pounds Floyd and Pac did from when they were also fetuses. Don't get me started on GGG's Embryo stages.
I used Floyd and Pac as an example, it has nothing to do with the point I'm making. But of course you're insecure about everything related to Floyd, so I see why missed the point. Use some common sense, yeah?
I didn't say Golovkin was too small, I specifically gave examples of fighters who have moved up more in weight than Golovkin, Floyd being one of them, you absolute freak.
Your "examples" were used to refute your post and you got tight. It's okay, just log out.
:lol1: seriously???
Your right, boxing has a structured and rigorous path to get to the top. One in which nobody can "leapfrog" and absolutely no cutsies! :lol1:
Many fighters have fought for championships at 16-0 and below.
Exceptions shouldn't be made the rule.
Vargas fought Winky, Quartey and Trinidad in a span of like 1 year at 17-19 fights but that wasn't exactly good for his longevity. Not every fighter is the same. Lomachenko fought 400 amateur fights, and like 8 semi-pro fights so it was okay for him experience wise to go after the top guys right away. That's not always the case. There's other things to consider like popularity, fanbase, style. These guys like DLH, Vargas, Canelo had the luxury of starting off in a big boxing country, have a strong fanbase, great style, charisma, and everything there for them to catapult them to world title fights immediately. Spence doesn't have these other variables going for him. Although Mayweather keeping him in his mouth is good for his publicity but that's all just talk, he has to show it in the ring as well as ratings, why he should fight the top guys now at 17-0 rather than at 25-0 like the majority of American boxers do.
Beating Froch and Kessler when he did were better wins.
Kessler: Favored to win the whole Super 6, obviously also favored to beat Ward. Favored to beat Froch, which he did, favored to beat Abraham, Taylor, which let's face it, he would have beaten them.
Froch: Probably a HOF SMW in the very least.
Kovalev would be a great win though. GGG, I just want to see Golovkin get beat and look lost.
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!! Manny was suppose to be the monster with the faster hands..
Lol it's pretty funny. Khan can't win an important fight to save his career, it's why Hunter and Haymon want nothing to do with the top 5 WW's. Maidana #7 would probably KO him this time around.
Ward is not a puncher, Smith was heavy, Ward had 19 months away from the ring, and 13 months between Rodriguez and Dawson.
Groves knocked down Froch, while Kessler, Ward, Abraham, Bute, Pascal could not, so Groves can clearly crack. Though I don't know how legit you consider the English-style stoppage of Paul Smith, he seemed fine.
Anyway, styles make fights. Ward could have gone 12 with Smith, it wouldn't have mattered. It was a ring rust shaking fight. Maybe next he can school Groves and DeGale to shut you up, but you probably won't be impressed I predict.
Khan is so full of himself without having backed up anything, that he is pretty boring now.
Usually a casual would hear about a fighter making headlines by talking sh*t or some big fight he won, and youtube him, and hear about some crazy win he got in the past and watch the fight on YT, becoming a fan instantly. With Khan, casuals read about him talking sh*t and run into his Prescott KO1 loss and his Garcia TKO4 loss footage. That's when it all goes down hill.
Amir "I don't need a world title" Khan
More like, I don't need to fight a top 10 fighter. Dude beat 1 top 10 fighter in his last 5 fights (Devon #10 ranking @ WW, who was coming off a loss).
If those projections are true, isn't that like $560,000,000 in PPV revenue, plus $70 million in gate + whatever other revenue from UK and other countries? Jesus, these guys are gonna get paid.
That was on Maidana I.
Maidana II, floyds style took a 180, he started running and worst of all, clinching.
Thats Maidana we're talking about too, Floyd made it a boring clinchesfest, and when he wasn't clinching he was running. He even picked the ref, who's fault is that.

Maidana outlanded Floyd in 4 rounds, with one other close round (13 vs 14). Pacquiao only 2 rounds. Maidana found a way to throw more than 100 punches more than Pacquiao against Floyd the runner.
Kelly Pavlik of 2006-2007 knocks both of them out at 160. Too bad Pavlik knocked himself out with alcohol.
I say Porter beats Broner. Broner is alright, not a top tier fighter.
Philipines TV station paid even more than Sky I think. Then factor in sponsors like Tecate ($5.6 million)
The revenue generated by this fight will be off the charts.
And I imagine Tecate wasn't even the only sponsor for this fight. Man, it's unreal. Floyd is standing to make earnings in one night, that the richest athletes of other major sports sign to earn in 7-10+ year contracts. One night.
So much for Good vs Evil. The guy portrayed as evil is doing pretty well, wins the fight, gets all this money, and has his health intact. The good guy has an injury, loses, gets sued, is all over the news in a negative light. Yep, we now see who's side was "god" on all along.
