if Roach uses the same gameplan for Mayweather like he did when he trained DLH, which is use feints, thats the only way you can really beat a fighter with mayweather's style and movement. except DLH couldnt pull the trigger...
manny had some nice feints against cotto and roach was probably thinking mayweather after the first few rounds...plus i think one thing people tend to forget about is manny's experience..he didnt have a classic amateur background but better yet he had real professional rounds against top competition and against different styles.(except mayweather's)
i love fights like these...a young up and coming cub against the true veteran lion
i wonder if mosley's gonna look like hopkins did after a long layoff at an older age...
i always thought that steroid or banned substance talk was flattering pacquiao if anything...imagine if he was actually clean and he heard all these other world champions hating on him
theres definitely a better chance of mayweather taking manny to school than the other way around.
i would hate to see it but admit it was possible, even before the marquez fight with pbf
out of the ones ive seen, raging bull(classic de niro, black and white with joe pesci) ...million dollar baby(clint eastwood classic)...girl fight(michelle rodriguez in bk)
ricky had a lot of hype and potential...beat a lot of championship contender level fighters. i remember him beating tszyu and watching pac come up around that time but at 126..
i would have never thought back then, that fight would have taken place with that kind of result.
watching some old mosley fights at 135 makes u wonder how he would have did against pac and floyd all in their prime at that weight.
i aint worried about somebody's fanbase but if pac and shane fought at the staples center,it would be automatic sellout and ppv success.
i got pacquiao, and mayweather having a better chance of beating him.
ive been a sweet pea fan but he couldnt have the power to hurt manny nor stop him from coming forward.
and duran...that was my dad's favorite fighter growing up. but i cant see him beating manny at 140+
the thing about the weight difference is, floyds been at 150 for all his latest few fights and pac's been moving up one by one and chopping everybody down...unprecedented on the highest professional level in memory
damn manny came and highjacked the rest of the 2000-2010 century from everybody...(01 lebwaba)
the main thing i wanted to bring up was, back when pacquiao was really starting to make noise among boxing fans and not the casual public was when he beat barrera in san antonio, and started beating up mexicans who pretty much owned 122-130. i dont think even his biggest supporters imagined him going up in weight the way he did, not only being competitive but knocking everybody out.
i think somebody said earlier that mayweather is pretty much the perfect final exam. absolutely correct. if pac can beat a fighter much bigger than him naturally, and who is our generation's shining example of a perfect textbook boxer, then he has more than just a good argument for all time greatest status. and it doesnt hurt him that he is THE asian boxer who represents all of their history in this sport.
man i didnt read your long ass post, but i do know a lot of ghanains near my momma house. a big community over there and the barbershop got them flags everywhere.
i KNOW theyre gona be watchin it and ima call em at the shop once the fights over with. hopefully i can talk some shit when my boy cotto win...i like clottey overall, but i need to see pacquiao and cotto in the near future so...
remember how the camera showed his face for a brief moment right before raul caiz took him to see the doctor? son quit...and he gona say in the post fight interview that he doesnt wanna go out on his back(shield). he took 2 losses at staples tonight.
every believer has GOD on their side.
like freddie said, the one who trains hader will win the fight. i doubt ricky was even really learning from floyd snr.
well all i wanted to see for my money was manny hurt this kid.
he did just that...
plus imagine all the people who lost wayyy more than $55 betting on hatton.
if manny catches cotto early on and doesnt even let him get off, cotto's done.
i say cotto bullies pac like a schoolyard bully for a few rounds but gets caught and calls it a night.
i think michael walker was tryna be like marvelous more than anything. similar body shape and the way he was smacking himself across the face in his corner.
manny had the same look as after the first fight...not sure if he won
when i saw the fight live i thought immediately afterwards that marquez got atleast a draw. i could see how someone can have it for either one though..we're not professional judges.
i still dont get how the fuk urango's been making 140. dude looks like an mma fighter, not a boxer...
watch him turn into an oversized heavybag for berto though...andre's wayyy too quick for the colombian
