remember what manny steward was saying on the pac/cotto broadcast, how pac is up there with the ray robinson's and ali's...as of right now, i don't think so, but if he was to beat mayweather and retire for good, would anyone put Pacquiao above those two on their lists?
even if manny loses to floyd. I would still rate pacman higher than money may. the pretty boy has got talent and skills but in the end, Greatness is measured by ones accomplishments and not by technical knowhow
manny may not have the zero like floyd has but he was able to bounce back from every defeat. that to me is one hell of a fighting spirit
Manny Pacquiao all the way!
Of course you would. If Mayweather knocks him out with the first punch he throws, you would still rate Pacquiao higher. Your God will always be greater in your mind, regardless of what the facts indicated.
The Pac worshipping on this site is getting ridiculous. I can't wait to see the crap all of "children of Pac" will write on this site after Mayweather KOs Pac.
One thing for sure! Pacman will put higher by the boxing historians on atg status than Floyd even if he loses on their fight. Deal with it flomos! Pac beats many HOF boxers in a dominating fashion than the cherrypicker.
Hall of Fame boxers beaten by Pac mostly in dominating fashion prime or not. They still better than mostly Floyd fought.
Barrera I & II (HOF)
Morales II & III (HOF)
JMM II (HOF)
DLH tko8 (HOF) >>>>> Floyd close disicion
Hatton ko2 (HOF?)>>> ko10
Cotto tko12 (HOF?)>>> avoided by Floyd
the thing about the weight difference is, floyds been at 150 for all his latest few fights and pac's been moving up one by one and chopping everybody down...unprecedented on the highest professional level in memory
damn manny came and highjacked the rest of the 2000-2010 century from everybody...(01 lebwaba)
the main thing i wanted to bring up was, back when pacquiao was really starting to make noise among boxing fans and not the casual public was when he beat barrera in san antonio, and started beating up mexicans who pretty much owned 122-130. i dont think even his biggest supporters imagined him going up in weight the way he did, not only being competitive but knocking everybody out.
i think somebody said earlier that mayweather is pretty much the perfect final exam. absolutely correct. if pac can beat a fighter much bigger than him naturally, and who is our generation's shining example of a perfect textbook boxer, then he has more than just a good argument for all time greatest status. and it doesnt hurt him that he is THE asian boxer who represents all of their history in this sport.
I don't think any boxers in this era could get top 10 of all time, they don't fight as much as the old guys did. It's more about money now, and less about legacy.
You should know what I mean. Kessler looked nervous before the fight with Ward, and I think you can a differnce in the eyes. You ain't disrespecting me, this is a conversation or discussion call it whatever you want. I've followed Kessler since he started as a prof fighter, and have seen many of his fights live.
Let's see what happens. I don't consider any of them an ATG, but I think one of them may end up reaching that status.
I don't think the look in his eyes was a result of Calzaghe taking anything out of him, but because he was fighting in the US for only the second time (the other nearly 10 years ago) against an excellent fighter and in his hometown. Of cours this is just my opinion.

He will be... but not now, it'll take a lot of years before his boxing career is rated as an ATG IMO.
He is already highly rated as an ATG, the question is where should he be placed.

Look, Im not trying to disrespect you, you seem like a decent poster, but saying you saw something in a fighters eyes is a bit of a leap. Exposed for to much hype? I can agree with that. But to many fighters in history have come back from one defeat to be productive. That is also the case with Kessler imo.
As far as the Oscar fight goes concerning both Pac and Floyd.....Neither fought a prime Oscar and neither deserves more credit than the other for their wins. They were money fights. A true test of grit is fighting the best fighters in their divisions. Manny has simply done more of that against better fighters. This doesn't detract from Floyds considerable skill, but its still a fact.

Didi I disrespect you or are you one of those less than confident people who have to dis anyone who challenges your opinion ?
Be respectful or I'll ignore you. Were not gonna meet in the streets and fight so keep it cool. You wan' tok boxing or hype your own fight ?
BTW glad you agree on the Oscar v Tito thing isn't that why he started Golden boy in the first place ???
Hey, if you want to put me on ignore just do it. You didn't challenge my opinion, you challenged my post by jumping the gun and making an assumption. I called you on it. My apologies for calling you a moron. But maybe you should follow the thread before leaping to a conclusion. Peace.
Oh so you think Trinidad beat Delahoya ?
Mayweather outboxed Dela and Dela outboxed Trinidad.
I guess SD stands for shit decision
Who said ANYTHING like that you moron? I was making an example that win or lose, Oscar sustained hardly any damage. Hence, Floyd did not RUIN him, just as Trinidad didn't. And for the record.....I thought Oscar won the Tito fight.

I thought Trinidad beat Oscar.
RD 1- Tito landed more punches, it was a swing round could of gone either way I gave it to Tito.
Rd 4- I thought Tito won... He landed the better shots
Rd 5- Was close could of gone either way. Another swing round. I gave it to Tito.
Rds9-12 was all Tito. Oscar didn't do nothing in those 4 rds.
So I had it 7rds-5(115-113) in favor of Trinidad. Is was not a shit decision. It was a close fight that could of gone either way.
Yes, no one could possible do what he has done so far. Just impressive, but Mayweather probably is going to win, Pacquiao is a Warrior, Warriors make Floyd look good.
I don't see Pacquiao really trying to box, that's what will make him fail. :(
If he box's, he got a good chance. If he goes to attack, he is going to get caught for sure.
caught by what?
I dont know about top 5. but he would certainly be a top 10.
people dont go easy on the modern era guys, its like the oldies are indestructable. an example is, Pacquiao, Vitali, Mayweather. they could very well beat A LOT of the ATGs.
agree or not, its the truth.
