No reason that wouldn't be true, but in a case like Jermain Taylor where he suffers so many brutal KOs in a row that is much worse. I guess it depends on each fighter.
late in fights ......
its better to be ko'd by one punch early as the brain is still hydrated, later on in the fight the impact of the brain against the skull will be much more damaging as it isnt as cushioned due to being 'dryer'
Simple question, is DLH the most robbed fighter in the history of boxing? I mean the fights with Tito, Shane, Bernard, and even FLOYD. Has anyone been screwed by the judges more times than Oscar himself?
he threw the fight with tito away, he was stopped by bernard so no idea what the judges have to do with that one
floyd fight was close but he was luck to even have the one judge in his corner to be honest
and lets not forget the gift he got against Pernell
everyone is making a deal out of floyd wanting 8oz gloves but forgetting that at 147 8oz have only been available since the cotto - margarito fight, before that 10oz was the standard size for a welterweight fight, at least in nevada
Mtagwa could and he's been dropped by bums.
Penalosa took like a 1000 of them.
JuanMa has good power, but he's moving up and it's not great power.
I think Gamboa is too quick for him and will tag him when JuanMa gets reckless.
some good points, i dont neccesarilly disagree just wanted to get a few opinions
im torn on it myself and think thats what it comes down to, if juanma can get his boxing together again it would help him alot, think he has fell in love with his power a bit too much these days
train everyday, and yeah it is a pretty good age to start. Train like a beast, and like you you're about to fight some one like pacquiao. Master the basics, run everyday, do the boxing work out everyday, oh and try to masturbate atleast 7times a week, so that you can have that extra strenght when you get in the ring.
wtf???????
Iv only just turned 17 and im just about to start boxing, the only reason i didnt start younger is because my mum didnt wont me to box. Im only posting this becuase i wont some advice on wether or not this is a good age to start and how could i catch up we people my age who are ahead of me. I am a very determined person and am willing to train everyday if i have to.
Thanks
do exactlly that train hard, learn about the sport and see what happens
17 isnt too late to start either if you have the determination and will to give it your all
the point here is not to talk about how i have it scored or how every other fan has it scored. the point is to talk about a judge who was hired to rob no matter what. the other judges would have leveled it out but the point is that there was a man that martinez was against sitting on the judges seat.
how did that benoist judge score the first round? do you know?
no i have a sneaking suspiscion it was for williams
Who were the morons that voted no??
Who doesnt wanna watch this fight again
the williams fans who know he may not be quite as lucky with the decision next time
That even if Martinez HAD knocked Williams down 4 times, he still would've lost on the old dude's card.
incorrect that judge had paul 11-1 up, so the 4 knock downs would be scored in rounds that williams won on his score card
with 4 knock downs it ends up
114 - 111 martinez
if martinez scored 5 knocked downs, he would have still lost. if thats not a robbery to you then i dont know what is. that judge went into the fight knowing who he was going to pick.
no he wouldnt have , i noticed you have ignored my post explaining this, do the math
the only way it would work how your saying is if paul had gone down 5 times in one round..... after which im pretty sure the fight would have been stopped
Martinez could have scored a total of 4 KNOCK DOWNS, add them to Pierre Benoist's card of 110-119 and Martinez still loses the fight.
That my friends, is a ROBBERY.
depends if they were in rounds that martinez won or williams did.... in reality
damn....you just dont get it...
no .. you dont get it, the one scorecard was way out, the other two could have made that irrelevant but obviously saw the fight slightly differently to the way you did
Nope,
4 KD's for Martinez and the fight still ends up 111-115 for Williams. Even if the first KD Williams scored when Martinez fell off balance was not scored, its still 111-114 for Williams. So in the end, if Martinez had scored 4 KD's to Wiliiams's 0 KD's, Martinez would still loose.
do you know how a fight is scored ?
williams won 11 rounds on that card which is ten points, if a knock down happens in one of those rounds his score becomes an 8 for that round,
a difference off 2.... 2x4 = 8 , 119 - 8 = 111, martinez would also have won those rounds so gains a point in each round he scores the knock down, going from 9 to 10 points , a difference of 1, 1x4 = 4, 110 + 4 = 114
so its 114 - 111 for martinez
http://scienceblogs.com/framing-science/Coliseum.jpg
The Colosseum or Roman Coliseum in Rome, Italy. For billions of years, this structure had been the center of primal blood lust hosting an unlimited amount of competitive events pinning man against man, man against beast and cock fighting. It's the legendary site where King King Leonidas and Maximus Decimus Meridius fought to an epic, boody and torturous draw after 745 rounds to the lustful delight of thousands of fans and Joaquin Phoenix.

?? lol
there are alot of things that dont seem quite right with the way he has brought his power up, along with speed, more endurance it seems, cant remember a time were a fighter seems to have either kept or improved upon every physical gift they have
he had to throw everything but the kitchen sink at david diaz before stopping him ... but yet can blitz his way through cotto like he was nothing ... it is strange
but bit too easy to throw accusations out without proof... although i guess we thought the same about RJJ at one point right ?
how is that incorrecy? JOAQUIN PHOENIX accounted for the event. JOAQUIN PHOENIX
ye but it wasnt king leonidias was it, who died at the battle of thermoplyae, i think you got your movies mixed up
No, Rome is in Italy. Sparta is in Greece.
yes my point exactly, the OP said the colleseum was were maximus fought king leonidus... which is obviously incorrect, read the post before replying next time rather than just being distracted by the pretty pictures
was the fight actually contracted at 156, i have the de la hoya career set on dvd and im sure when i watched that fight they said that hopkins just came in light to prove a point, that he didnt have to just use his size to win and he could outbox oscar
pacquiao came in at 145 in his last fight at 130.
he was 149 in the cotto fight.
only 4 lbs. difference but i'm sure not having to cut 15 lbs. for the weigh in helps him a lot.
if this gives such an advantage why do most fighters cut significant amounts of weight for fights ?
...for having fought 3 times for an abc belt in his last 4 fights without having won one of them???
Taylor - Froch (WBC)
Taylor - Abraham
Taylor - Ward (WBA)
Taylor - Kessler (WBC?)
possible feat for the very future (if he continues with the tourney)...
surely john ruiz has gotta have already surpassed that just with the WBA haha
seriously thoug good spot, suprised its not happened before though with the amount of pointless titles and mandos being thrown about
problem is tests are not always that accurate, mosley never tested positive for performance enhancing drugs... but we know he took them because of the BALCO scandel, while new drugs are always been created and developed so are new ways of preventing their detection in a test
its not just that his succesful, no one throws these claims at floyd, and with reason... while floyd has also moved up a lot in weight over the past few years it has been noticable, he has slowed down a little, his shots have less pop than they used to at lower weights...
pac seems to be just as fast and has carried his power up.... never before has a fighter been able to move up in weight so effortless and keep on physically improving
remember the hatton fight, that was apparently all agreed to two years before it was announced just on the condition hatton wasnt beaten in the mean time,
i think it its been agreed to in that they are willing to fight each other, itll just take a long time to iron out the finer details
