Martinez could have scored a total of 4 KNOCK DOWNS, add them to Pierre Benoist's card of 110-119 and Martinez still loses the fight.
That my friends, is a ROBBERY.
It was a competitive fight. Boxing is still not scored on effective punches, but on the number of punches. Judges have some room to decide what they look more at. A robbery is one a fighter lands no punches, fouls allot and still manages to win. Williams' defense was shit and he's just not that good, don't get me wrong. I'm still pissed at Williams for such bad performance. He deserved to lose based on how he's managing his career but he didn't. It was just close card. Of course the 119-110 score card was rubbish.
Please explain?

I haven't scored the fight but I got the impression it could have gone either way. So I wouldn't call it a robbery but perhaps an attempted robbery by one judge which was unjust regardless of the outcome.

There is no such things as a close fight being a robbery. Definition of a Robbery in boxing-when fighter A clearly beats fighter B yet still doesn't get the decision. This was far from it and it could have went either way.
this is a fight that some people thought martinez won, some thought williams won, 2 KD's make all the difference.
of course. i'm just saying that even with 2 extra knockdowns, any fighter could still lose if his opponent wins the majority of the fight.
*fixed
you can't base a fight on knockdowns alone. if the other wins enough rounds, he could still win. that's just how the numbers add up.this is a fight that some people thought martinez won, some thought williams won, 2 KD's make all the difference.
Ok just got it off another thread.
so here is benoist's official score card:
Martinez: 10 10 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 = 110
Williams: 10 9 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 = 119
your right i was exaggerating about the 4 KD's.
but say he scored 2 more knockdowns after the first 2 rounds?
Martinez: 10 10 9 9 9 10 10 9 9 9 9 9 = 112
Williams: 10 9 10 10 10 9 9 10 10 10 10 10 = 115
thats still a major robbery not to give it to martinez. that judge being there made the fight a robbery.
It was close fight. A close fight that could go either way is never a robbery.

the point here is not to talk about how i have it scored or how every other fan has it scored. the point is to talk about a judge who was hired to rob no matter what. the other judges would have leveled it out but the point is that there was a man that martinez was against sitting on the judges seat.
benoist is a bullshit judge, no one's arguing that.

how did that benoist judge score the first round? do you know?

yea i got that. you said that already. problem here is that you are so sure that martinez won while others have it a close fight that could have gone either way. no surprise you're screaming robbery.the point here is not to talk about how i have it scored or how every other fan has it scored. the point is to talk about a judge who was hired to rob no matter what. the other judges would have leveled it out but the point is that there was a man that martinez was against sitting on the judges seat.
no he wouldnt have , i noticed you have ignored my post explaining this, do the math
the only way it would work how your saying is if paul had gone down 5 times in one round..... after which im pretty sure the fight would have been stopped
how did that benoist judge score the first round? do you know?
if martinez scored 5 knocked downs, he would have still lost. if thats not a robbery to you then i dont know what is. that judge went into the fight knowing who he was going to pick.

my definition of a robbery is when a fighter loses when he clearly won. last night's fight was not a very clear fight. i had martinez winning but i could see how other people could have scored it for williams. you're focused on that one judge. if they had a fair judge, this fight wouldn't be so controversial. this is just a case of one judge ruining the whole score.if martinez scored 5 knocked downs, he would have still lost. if thats not a robbery to you then i dont know what is. that judge went into the fight knowing who he was going to pick.
Not a robbery? If Martinez scored a 10-6 round, he would still loose the fight? How is that not a robbery?
Do you even know what a robbery is? A robbery is when you have already lost before you even get in the ring.

Had the douche Judge scored it 115-114 for Williams no one would have grumbled and Williams would have a MD win.
So not a robbery just an incompetant judge
