I dont know what is more sad: that these two are still fighting at nearly 50 or that it should do get a lot of views.
I expect more of the same: Floyd to cautiously snipe Manny and then slowly pick him apart. Even if Floyd's reflexes aren't the same, I don't think Manny hurts him enough.
Really?
If anyone wasn't sure who the winner of Pac/Bradley II was, they need their eyes checked.
That fight wasn't even close but the Floyd Jr fight was close. I had it a close win for Floyd but could see how others saw it a draw.
I'd say his conditioning. Always comes in very good shape, no problems making weight, and no excuses (at least when it comes to his fight, not potential fights).
I think the much better fight now is mayweather vs rios. If maidana can abuse floyd then I'm confident that rios will be too much for floyd to handle.
Wait, whut? Rios? Brandon Rios?
If no Pac fight, then a Khan or Thurman fight would be the next best.
Pac has problems with counter punchers and got KO'd by a very good counter puncher who landed a beauty of a punch on Pac who was coming in. People act as if Pac is standing getting lit up. Maidana might land a good shot or two like Bradley did but I doubt he KO's Pac. Dangerous UD for Pac.
If they are a fan of them just because of their race/ethnicity, then yes.
I like Pacquiao, Cotto, GGG, Provodnikov, and Porter. All because of style, entertainment or skill and not because of skin color or where they are from.
I don't see how this benefits anyone other than Algieri.
For Pac, it's really a lose/lose. If he looks good, well it was against a relative unknown. If he barely squeaks by, he's finished. If he loses, he's finished.
I can't see this doing anything for PPV numbers either. Since Morales I, I've only missed one fight (Diaz) but I won't be buying this one. Not unless Algieri gets on the news for getting into a bar fight and beating up 20 guys or killing a bear with an uppercut.
I think Floyd took the fight knowing that he knows what to expect from Maidana in the rematch. It's not like Maidana can completely reinvent himself, he is who he is. I expect Floyd to dominate in the rematch.
I'm a big Maidana fan too. Glad he's finally gotten the respect he deserves because he's a fantastic brawler.
Someone needs to press the questions the other media is too scared to do. I'm sure Jim Gray is told to ask certain questions by Showtime higher ups.
I don't have a problem with the questions he asked. It was the way he treated Robert during the interview.
He gets hate because of who he is outside of the right. As much as people should judge him on what he does IN the ring, I guess it's hard for people to do so.
Personally, I think Floyd is the best at his craft. He's perfected the way he fights and it's worked for him. The only knock is that IMO, at the same time as Pacquiao was rising in fame, Floyd took the time off.
Outside the ring, I don't have a very high opinion of Floyd. But inside he's a HOFer.
Neither look good but Floyd did enough to show that he was the better man which is what everyone wanted to see
This.
Neither was as sharp as they have in the past and both were understandably tentative and cautious of each other.
DLH. Most action and closest fight.
Alvarez and Pacquiao were snoozers.
His most dominant, that I've seen, was Mosley.
Back to the fight last night, yeah Mayweather won. Nobody should be contesting that. But did he dominate him, beat him up, and make him look stupid? No. Pacquiao was certainly uncomfortable, unable to execute his gameplan, sure.
I think if Floyd wanted to, he could have dominated last night the way he did against Mosley, after he got caught. I just think both gave respect to each other, with Pac unable to pull the trigger and execute.
I think Bradley did better in the 2nd fight than he did in the latest one. Sure, he had a moment in the 8th but other than that it was Pacquiao the whole way.
Bradley looked defeated and resigned after nearly every round and Atlas yelling in his face didn't seem to do anything.
