Hopkins easily in my eyes. The early rounds were close and Cloud should have done more. Hopkins landed cleaner, made Cloud look stupid at times, and he did better work when up close. I had a wide UD for Hopkins, although I could see how someone could score some of the early rounds for Cloud. I pretty much agree with your score.
Pretty sure its just thickness of skin. However, black fighters do tend to cut a lot less than white fighters. British fighters have never had a good history with cuts.
i believe you are right. i think they said that in the broadcast.
If true that's pretty remarkable! But as people mentioned, structure is probably the most important facet when deal with cuts. High, pronounced cheekbones and pronounced eyebrows on a fighter, generally means they will probably be able to cut easy. Look at Ricky Hatton, gets cut basically every fight.
Top of my head i cant think of many black boxer who cut easily, although Roy Jones had a nasty cut above his eye against Joe Cal. Many boxers who faced him ended up with nasty cuts, but that probs has to do with his slapping/slicing style, which is what Khan some times does, the gloves have a slice like effect on the skin.
I can name you a dozen white boxers though in recent history, Hatton, Vitali, most recently Manuel Charr
Maybe it has to do with facial bone structure, rather than skin colour.
Sure it was mentioned that that was RJJ's first cut ever in a fight. I may be wrong, but I heard that somewhere.
Yeah, been boxing since I was 16. Not training hard enough and weight issues led to me taking ages having my first fight. First fight was awesome though. Lost a close and controversial decision. Many observers thought i had won. However it wasn't to be. Was meant to be fighting this week to, but illness over xmas and then twisting my knee meant i couldn't train.
The guy is pure D hype..
You gotta' be really desperate not to see it..
He vowed to avenge his Brother's loss to Austin Trout....then developed amnesia..
I was thinking Kirlkland will be favorite so i voted for Molina. Molina has pretty decent boxing ability.
I think Martinez will beat any middlweight and light middle however he wants. I think he would destroy Barker but I do think Barker would beat ten shades of sh1t out of Chavez Jr :boxing:
no way. in fact, hatton is grossly UNDERRATED because of his two KO losses to some of the best fighters who ever stepped in the ring.
completely agree with this
I think shane is confident. What with Nazim and his studying of mayweather. He is a very humble guy, but i think he is also confident. Might not be enough though.
i think that the list contains 3 good examples of a good body punch resulting in a win,it is hard to pick one out of the three but the list is very impressive and it goes to show that a punch when perfectly timed and the destination of the punch hitting the right target of the body the punch can be just as effective as a crushing blow to the jaw,as proven by these fighters against good competition:boxing::arabia:
Exactly, excellent point.
Roy Jones easily, Hattons on Castillo was pretty hard too, now the Hopkins-De La Hoya was weak as hell it had no business being mentioned with the other two.
it was a perfect liver shot, thats why it was mentioned.
