The dude is slow as f.uck and not very impressive. He has some heart and a good chin. He will never rule the SMW division. I have nothing against him, no nationalistic flaming. I just think his lack of handspeed will be the death of him.
LMAO at him calling out Joe Calzaghe.
Joe Calzaghe will beat the shit out of this dude. Absolutely beat to a pulp. As soon as Froch throws a punch Calzaghe will have hit him three times.
He's just had a win in his first ever title defence that matches anything Calzaghe ever did.
:afro:
Why would Calzaghe's dip? By triangulation/association?
By being his best win (an aged version) getting beaten years earlier by a guy who got beaten by a limited fighter in Froch.
Sure it wasn't the best version of Taylor but you have to ask questions about how good he really was.
Come on, that's just stupid logic. When Hopkins fought Taylor he was young and hungry, Taylor was 22-0 with 17 KO's. He was 26 years old (he was 30 years old tonight). He already got KO'd by Pavlik then lost a decision to pavlik, who I remind you Hopkins destroyed so that in itself kills that same kind of logic. Jermaine Taylor is simply not the same young hungry lion he was 4-5 years ago and he is damaged goods mentally (lots of fighters NEVER fight the same after getting KO'd (see Roy Jones for example)).
I see what your saying, but I think you can ask questions about how good taylor ever was. The guys only ever real claim to fame is beatign Hopkins.
No matter what you say that was a decent (perhaps not best), hungry version of Taylor out there tonight - he was by no means washed up. He fought very well for most the fight, it's not like he turned up a shadow of himself - Froch simply beat him down later on.
There is something about a man who can throw a hurtful punch.
Froch all day for me, his top flight fights have been stunning so far.
Moving like the energiser bunny, with little text book technique, throwing many questionable illegal punches - with no real power - while trying to trick the judges, doesn't do it for me!
Both fighters have very questionable technique, both are very sloppy. Calzaghe's chin has saved him on many occasion. He's an offencive not a defencive fighter who cant throw a hurtful punch.
Froch for me. His fights have been great fun so far, even though he clearly isn't technically great - but neither is Calzaghe.
According to you he can't throw a hurtful punch (you have never fought him), yet the people who did fight him including sparring partners say he hits hard. Who should I believe?
Believe his real KO (knocking people down for the full count) record it's one of the worst ever for a title holder.
I believe both were underdogs in both fights. Calzaghe clearly beat Eubank by decision, while Froch had to come from behind to beat taylor by knocking him out in the 12th round.
Yes I know I ****ed up the poll by typing too fast...
Calzaghe was the favourite to beat a washed up Eubank. Eubank had not won a decent fight for year and year. He was pretty much inactive for two years and semi retired. He took the fight at 11 days notice drain.
FROCHS WIN IS A MILLION TIMES SUPERIOR
Eubank at 31 was a better fighter than Taylor is right now. Calzaghe dominated Eubank for the most part, and Froch got schooled for the most part I rate the Eubank fight higher.
Pure fan boy stuff.
That was a thing of beauty!
:wow:
Some people..,
Froch has been involved in a possible fight of the year so far, and a round of the year so far.
Calzaghe is not a particulay skilled boxer text book wise and is very sloppy to watch too. Compairing the likes of Mayweathers skills to a sloppy Joe - a man often saved by his chin - is an insult to boxing.
Clearly Calzaghe, who wants to watch Froch when he barely throws any punches. Taylor was the one with the workrate in the fight, no wonder why he nearly passed out in the 12th round. Without him the fight would have been a borefest. Does anyone even have the punch-stats for the taylor/froch fight, I'm sure Taylors punch output was probably double frochs boring ass.
I was so excited watching froch hit air and taylors gloves the majority of the fight when he did throw though!!!
What Calaghe actually throws meaningful punches?
I still feel Calzaghe know how to serve a beating like no one else.
You're Joking right? The guy has only ever put 2 people down for the ten count in his whole career.
Froch's win over Taylor, Eubank never even had a full camp for Calzaghe, taking the fight on short notice.
Indeed, Eubank took the fight at 11 days notice.
yea he did ok given that he was brutally KOed one fight before.
no need to go overboard with the praise, but at the same time no need for all the hate we have seen
